His father, Juan Carlos Sena m Rita Garcia. They lived in village of El Salado (sp?).
My mother Beatrice G Sena, b. Ernesto Sena, b. Vidal Sena, S. Delia Sena.
I want to find out where my Sena family originally came from.

My Grandfather Santiago Miguel Sena, he was married to Catalina Lucero. They had a rach in Borica, NM and a house in Santa Rosa. They had four children, Ernesto, Vidal, Deila and my mom, Beatrice.
My Grandfather had at least one brother, Luis Sena.
Looking for any family and origin.

My sister Linda (Sena) Fletcher passed away in 2004. I was looking for info on the family and My Grandfather Carlos Sena that passed in Sept. 23, 1944. I'm not sure what she did with the photos she mentioned in the e-mail, but i'm sure my Niece has them. My dad recently aquired a photo (picture) of his grandfather and grandmother. Real old pencil on cardboard, very fragile. We will have to get it digitized soon.

To the post that mentioned Amable. I remember meeting him many years ago at my father's house in Clovis. He and My Father Carlos Sena are cousins, so you and I are cousins as well. My Father Carlos Sena, still living in Clovis, NM. He's 82 years old, born in 1929. His mother's name was Ignacita. Our cousins Carlos, Anastacio "Stash", Father Sotero, Gerry, are Anastacios Sena's Sons. I haven't met the whole family yet, but I think we're probably related to most people in Fort Sumner and many in Santa Rosa. Our distant Cousin Amelia Aragon from Clovis, has done extensive family tree research and has much information. Probably the most info I have seen.

Interesting to find something my sister wrote all these years after she passed away.

My great great great great grandmother is Maria Placida Pilar Cena born about 1860. She was married to Anastacio Sanchez. I know about her children and so forth but not positive if I am right about her father and mother. I belive it is Jesus Sena and Maria Rita Montolla. I have also seen her name spelled Montoya. I anyone can help me with this I would very much appreciate it.

I just started researching my family history and have come to somewhat of a block. My grandmother was Fedelina Sena Gonzales (1912- 1997) married to Eloy Gonzales both from Llano de San Juan, NM. Fedelina at the age of 7 lost her parents Desiderio Sena and Guadalupe (Lupita) Vigil Sena and a younger brother to the influenza epidemic. At that point she was raised by her mother's brother, Ventura (Bentura) Vigil and wife Albina Vigil. Fedelina did have a younger sister named Ruby (Rube)but I have nothing on her life. Where my block is at is identifying who her father and mothers parents were and anything at all with information on the uncle who raised her.

My dad is Jaime Velenzuela Sena. He was born around 1945 in Durango, Mexico. He immigrated to the U.S. and resided around Chula Vista, California or Imperial Beach.
His brother was Sinido, Antonio and a sister.
I believe my family is Mexican Italian as I have been asked several times if I'm Italian. Also, did research and there are Sena's in Italy as many people from Europe fled to Mexico during the wars but Mexico did not record names, etc.
Any help would be appreciated as I would like to get in
contact w/family. My mom divorced him when I was young. Thanks so much.

If you contact Jerry Gonzales or Irma Rodriguez in Ft. Sumner they have a copy of the research that I did for them on their families. In that research there are many Sena families.

My husband and I did the research about two years ago and it goes back in time for several generations.

Eddielinda T. Sena Age 89, of Santa Fe, NM passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 13, 2010. She was born and raised in Trinidad, CO, then moved to New Mexico in 1946 where she met her husband of 40 years, Louis A. Sena and raised their 6 children. She worked as a Land Law Examiner for over 30 years with the United States Bureau of Land Management. After retirement, she led a full life caring for her beloved grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and relaxing in her beautiful home built by her husband and family. She loved to shop and dressed beautifully. Eddielinda was witty and wise, and had a wonderful sense of humor. All who knew her will deeply miss her. Eddielinda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Louis A. Sena; and grandson, Angel L. Romero. She is survived by her brother, Philip Trujillo of Littleton, CO; three daughters; Margo Sena, Linda Romero, and Marcella Cromeenes; three sons; Michael Sena (wife Elena), Paul Sena (wife Juanita), and Diego Sena (Yolanda). Her beloved grandchildren; Joaquin Ortega, Erik Sena (wife Melissa), Elena Maestas (husband Michael), Paulina Sena, Gloria Sena, Crystal Baca (Alex), and many great-grandchildren. The "survived by" information below is false. She only had three daughters and she had two sons. At the time of my grandma's death she was survived by Joseph Daniel Sena, her oldest, of Lake Stevens, WA and his wife Roselyn Wilcox, the oldest daughter Linda Ramos Segundo of Salinas, CA and her husband Burt, Betty Ramos (I am not sure if she was in Sacremento, CA or Las Vegas, NV and I do not know the last name of her second husband)and her youngest, Art Ramos (I do not know where he was living or if he re-married). Grandma was preceeded in death by her daughter Emma Ramos Leuterio (the twin of Betty).

I am the grand-daughter of Emma Sena Ramos. My dad, Joseph Daniel Sena, is her first born. My grandma married H. Ramos when my dad was five years old. My grandma went on to have four more children: Linda, Betty & Emma (fraternal twins)and Art. My dad married Rose Wilcox and had five children, of which four are boys to carry on the Sena name. I have plently of nephews also. Here is the break down on my sibilings. Oldest: Joseph Daniel Sena II has one daughter, Tabitha. Next is me, Nanette Kristine Sena and I have two children, my daughter Brandi LeAnn Gulfan and my son, Jeremiah Peter Gulfan II. The middle child is Orville Oliver Sena and he has two boys and two girls; Joanna, Joshua, Jacob and Julia. The next is Dean Vidol Sena and he has two sons, Derrick and Jhonathan. i am hoping you receive this post since it has been a few years that you have been on here......i believe you, olivia and i are all distant (4th or 5th) cousins. you mentioned having photos that you might need help with identifying......my dad is Amable Sena, he is 88 and is still alive (thank God!) ... he lives next door to me and i'm sure will be able to recognize and identify any pictures you may have. he grew up in the salado/ft sumner area......he remembers back to his growing up and mentions carlos, ramon, shanita, adolpho, and many others.........hoping you get this!!

My great grandmother is Irene Sena. My father just found his grandfathers grave in Las Vegas New mexico. His name was Luis S. Sena and he was the chief of police. My dads name is Albert Dorsey but his moms name is Dora Sena and we used to live in Colorado Springs.

I am the niece of Emma Sena Ramos. The daughter of her brother Cornelius Sena. I am very interested in finding out more information about my family history on the paternal side of my family. I would like to find some Sena relations out there. The Sena side of my family is dying out. 6 brothers and no male children to pass on the name. very sad. I miss my aunt and my cousins. Emma Sena Ramos of Salinas died Monday at her home. She was 78.

Born March 29, 1919, in La Puente, Mexico, Mrs. Ramos had lived in Salinas for 19 years. Before her retirement, she had worked for the J. R. Simplot Co. for 11 years.

Mrs. Ramos is survived by her husband, Hospicio "Tommy" Ramos; four daughters, Linda Segundo of Salinas, Betty Guinn of Elk Grove, Juanita Ramos of San Jose and Rose Sena of Lake Stevens, Wash.; one son, Arthur, of Salinas; 24 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.

A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the mortuary chapel. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories.

My husband's grandmother was Christina SENA (a.k.a. Maria Christina SENA), who married William ROGER in Telluride, Colorado 21 October 1932. Christina died at the age of "about 51" in Durango, Colorado on 29 October 1941, and was buried in Greenmount Cemetery. According to the death certificate, she was born in the San Luis Valley, and her father was "Tibusio" [sic] SENA. Her mother is listed as unknown, but I suspect that it was Teresa ARCHULETA, and I wonder if it was the same Tubursio SENA and Teresa ARCHULETA who lived in Conejos County Colorado in Capulin.

Any information would be helpful.

Tracking Connections from Sicily, Italy

My family came to Australia in 1969. My father was Francesco Sena. He left his siblings and their families in Italy. I would like to know whether there are any Sena families from Sicily and Caltagirone or Gramichele in particular, who may have left Sicily prior to 1969.
Our family is the only Sena family (in Australia) originally from Italy as far as I know. I would like to hear from any Sena's whose origins are Italy or Sicily in particular.

He was a decorated Korean War Veteran and received two purple hearts, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the United Nations Service Medal with 7 battle stars, the national Defense Service Mission Medal, the Far East Service Medal, the Korean War Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal with one star. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church and belonged to the Sociedad de San Jose.A visitation will be held on Wednesday in St. Francis Chapel at Gonzales Funerals & Cremations, 2315 Hot Springs Blvd. from 10:00 am. until 4:00 p.m. Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with a rosary on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. The interment will follow in the Santo Nino Cemetery in Los Alamitos with full military honors. Joe E. Sena, a long time resident of Las Vegas and formerly of Las Tusas, NM, went to meet our Lord on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at Alta Vista Regional Hospital following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cesario and Carolina Padilla Sena; a brother, Lloyd Sena; and his mother-in-law, Estrellita Varela.He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Elvira of Las Vegas; five children, Mary Ann Sandoval of Albuquerque, Joe V. Sena and wife Debra of Las Vegas, Jayne Lucero and husband Archie of Baltimore, MD, Patsy Sena of Las Vegas, Frank Sena and wife Jean of Austin, TX, Sally Sandoval and husband Joe of Las Vegas of Las Vegas; three sisters, Florence Garcia and husband Jim of Denver, CO, Mary Trujillo and husband Ramon of Melrose, NM, and Margarita Sena and fiancÃ© Ralph Abeyta of Las Vegas; one brother, Cesario Sena and wife Emily of Melrose, NM; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Sena of Loveland, CO and Andi Romero and husband Premie of Denver, CO; and a brother-in-law, Alfred Flores and wife Sharon of Albuquerque. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Michael Sandoval, Tiana Rosette and husband Anthony, Jose Sena, Amber Sena, Frankie Sena, Melissa Leyba, and Tracy Romero; and by four great-grandchildren, Erin Sandoval, Cameron Sandoval, Saline Sena, and Alicia Rosette.Joe was born on March 27, 1917 in Las Tusas, NM to the late Cesario and Carolina Padilla Sena. He was a World War II Veteran and was honorably discharged on December 7, 1945 as a private-first class having served as a rifleman with the 118th Infantry, Second Division in France, Germany, and England. He was a life member of San Juan Argonne Post #1547 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In his early years he worked for Bob Williams as a lumber miller for the New Mexico Mill and Lumber Company. Joe had a golden heart. He was a very honorable, humble, and hard working man. He loved to laugh, garden, buid thing, and enjoyed the frequent strawberry Sundays. Until his last days, Joe was prayerful and God-fearing. He enjoyed the company of his family who will continue to take pride in all the wonderful memories shared with Joe. Cremation has already taken place and services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with a rosary Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. Father C. Maria Domitelia (Tillie) Sena, age 76, passed away on May 11, 2007, at the Manor Care Nursing Home in Reno Nevada.
Tillie was born, May 31, 1930, in Cuervo, NM to the home of Luis G. Duran and Petra (Lopez) Duran. She married Antonio P. Sena in Galisteo, NM in 1951.

Tillie worked in Santa Fe, taught school in Pena Blanca & Cochiti for twenty-nine years. She loved rodeos, extreme bull riding, fishing, reading, and cross word puzzles. She moved back to Santa Rosa in 1992. She moved to Winnemucca, NV after the death of her husband in 2001.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Antonio P. Sena, a son Mario Sena, brothers; Eloy Duran, Vivian Duran and sister Valeria Martinez.

Survivors include her son; Antonio Sena & wife Elaine of Winnemucca, NV. Brothers; Juan Duran & wife Pauline of Albuquerque and Robert Duran of Albuquerque. Sister Florence Cox & husband Ed of Tulsa OK. Three grandchildren, Catherine, John Sena & wife Nancy, Jessica Sells & Husband Mark and three great-grandchildren, Ryan Nelson, Josette Angelina Sells and Ambrosia Camou. Plus many god children, nieces and Nephews, whom she loved dearly.

Hi, I am so excited that there is a page for The Sena Family History.

My Grandparents were Manuel R. and Serafina Sena (her maiden name Duran). My Grandpa Manuel passed away about 11 years ago i believe. My Grandmother is still alive and probably will out live us all. She was very strong in the Catholic Church and belonged to "The Third Order" ? that is all i know about that organization. My grandfather worked at the Feed yards "El Rancho" in Clovis, New Mexico. Their children are Jose, Elijio, Cecilio, Amelia, and Theresa. (all of which are still living) My father is Cecilio (Cecil)married to Lucy Sena.

I would like to know more of my family's history. I will post any history that i find in my search.
