Surnames: service,hay,mcdowall,murphy,andrews,mccreath
I have been finding hints that my James Service and Rosanna Hay may have come across from northern ireland to Ayr.But I am not convinced that they were Irish.There was a lot of turmoil back in the day so I am wondering if many fled Scotland too Ireland to be free of conflicts or some such thing,only too return at a later time...Just a theory!
