Hi Cousin, not sure if it's still valid or not, but go to shaul.org. Velda's (my aunt)father was Herbert S Shaul, his father Herbert Frank Shaul (b:Richfield Springs, NY, may 1864). Buried at St. Paul's Churchyard near his wife, Jessie Woodward Shaul (b: England). Herbert Frank Shaul's father was Adam Shaul Jr, and his father was Adam Shaul. Adam's father was George Shaul (Revolutionary Patriot - Battle of Oriskany). All were from New York, in and around Herkimer County. A lot of rich history here. Haven't had as much luck on the Wagner side. The Wagner's have a family plot at St. Paul's Churchyard. My dad, Vernon is buried there. Estelle's father remains a mystery??? I haven't been able to connect all those in the Wagner plot. Estelle's grandfather (I believe) Raymond (Raimond?)Wagner. I have him connected to the 12th MO Infantry (Union) during the Civil War. Check the Compendium of the War of Rebellion for unit history, again some fascinating reading. Who is your dad? We are 1st cousins and I think the last contact we had was at Grandma Shaul's funeral over 30 years ago. Who is your dad? If there is anything else I can tell you, please let me know. William Shaul killed while working on bridge

Appears in "The Wapanucka Press" 31 March 1904, Wapanucka, Johnston County, Indian Territory, now Oklahoma

O. S Strickland, a prominent contracting mason of Kay County, and William Shaul of Ponca City were killed while engaged in pulling the frame work from a stone arch bridge near the latter city. The arch fell and the two men were buried under tons of stone. The bodies were horribly mangled when found.

I haven't been able to find any information for Evander Boyd either. My conclusion is that he died before the WWI draft registration in 1917 which would explain his near non-existence.

As far as I can see, Rufus Shaul never married. It appears his youngest brother Lewis never married either.

Saul Shaul (1808-1892) born Ohio, died South Dakota. (M1) Celia Dalrymple born 31 Dec 1805 in Ohio, married 4 Dec 1828 in Clark Co. OH. (M2) Mary Ann Pendergrass born about 1824 in Ohio, married 15 Nov 1849 in Logan Co. OH. Jemima & Lemuel are his children from the 1st marriage.

George E. and Stella Shaule Johnson

Seeking any info and/or descendants of George E. and Stella Shaule Johnson.

Stella was the daughter of John Shaule, b 1847 in Canada. The Shaules came to US from Canada in 1882. Stella was French-Canadian and might have been Catholic.

Stella is shown in Denver phone directories to 1935. Stella might possibly have been a sculptor per 1930 Denver phone directories.

Stella married George E. Johnson, who was assistant to the general manager of Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad.

One child of George E. and Stella Shaule Johnson isGeorge R., born 1906 in Washington State and who married Grace. George R. was a fireman, possibly on the railroad. George R. came to Oregon from Colorado at some point in time. His social security was issued in Oregon. He possibly died Sep 17, 1958 in Clackamas County, Oregon.

Another child of George E. and Stella Shaule Johnson was Donald, born 1909 in Oregon.

I don't know if this is relevant, but i have a picture of my Gr- Grandfather's brother, Rufus Shaul, taken in Fenton MI (year unknown, but looks to be late 1800's). He was born in New York and as far as I have been able to find, he also died in New York. I've been looking for info on his wife and children, if he ever even did get married.

I am excited to meet someone else from that family!
I never thought I would ever know anything about Levi because the family story goes, "He left home when he was 13 and never spoke of his family again." He was said to have gone into the Civil War at age 15 but the dates don't work out for that to have been a fact. He was missing his index finger of his right hand (triger finger) so was a drummer in the Civil War. I have two pictures of him. Do you have any pictures of the family? I would live to know more about the family.
Yes I have visited the web site and have some additions and corrections to add.
I want to order the book but wasn't able to negotiate the site.

Saul Shaul, Logan Co, OH, 1850

In the 1850 Logan Co, OH census, there is listed Saul Shaul, age 62. After Saul comes Mary A., age 26. I take her to be a daughter. Two non-family members are listed next followed by Jemima Shaul, age 11, and Lemuel Shaul, age 8. I take the separation to mean these kids may be related to Saul, but not his children. Last in the household list is Amos Richards, who appears to be an appretice to Saul. Amos and Jemima will later marry and become my grgrgrandparents.

Can anyone help me with this line?
