William Shawcross b. 1828 Gorton and christened 18 May 1828 in Manchester Cathedral. The son of Peter and Anne Shawcross nee Edg(e)ley.
James b. 1825 Irlam at Bridge St., Gorton 1841, 3 bridge St., 1861, 26 Brook St., Gorton 1871 and 16 Duke st., Gorton 1881. Wife unknown but daughter Maria b. 1852 in Gorton.
John b. 1830 Gorton at bridge st in 1841 by 1861 moved to Dukinfield and at 93 Canal St., at 87 Canal St in 1886/7. in 1881 at 9 Forresters Dr. Wife Elizabeth Wrigley and have at least 2 generations of descendants.
Mary b. 1834 Gorton and chr. 27 Jan 1836 in Manchester Cathedral. At Bridge St in 1841.
Joseph b, 1835 Gorton and Chr. 26 Apr 1835 in Manchester Cathedral. At Bridge St., in 1841, 28 Brook St., in1871 209 Abbey Hay ln 1881, 111 Cros Ln in 1901 and died there. Wife Sophia Eller and have at least 2 generations of descendants.
Ann b. 1838 and at the bridge st addresses in 1841 and 61.
Peter b. 24 February 1840 in Bridge St. Chr in Gorton (probably St. James) on 17 November 1844 and at the Bridge St addresses in 1841 and 61. Moved to 296 Hope Terrace, Droylesden by 1881 and to Stanfield lodge Hyde Rd, Gorton by 1901. Wife Margaret ? and have descendants b. Leeds and at least 2 generations.
Harriet b 1844 and presumed to have died before the 1861 census but could possibly have moved away in service at that age.
Alfred b. 1846 in Gorton (Have reference) at 3 bridge St in 1861 at 44 Field St., Gorton in 1881 and 14 Short St in 1901.
Wife Harriet Weston and have at least 1 generation.
Thomas b. 1850 Gorton (have reference) and chr. 24 February 1850 in Gorton (probably St. James). At bridge St., and Brook st., adressess by 1881 at Cowen's Buildings, Coalpit Ln., Droylesden and 1901 65 Bridge St., Farnworth. Wife Mary Ann Rose and have at least one generation.
The William b. in 1828 is my direct ancestor and I think we have corresponded in the past. My full tree is on rootsweb if you want to look at it.
I'm still trying to find details of Peter and Ann, if I remember rightly you were going to try and find them in the Lancaster records office.
