I'm Deborah the administrator for this message board. I would like to encourage everyone to post more often and maybe get some discussions started.

Having said that please make sure that your posts stay on subject which is the surname SHEARS. If you "accidently" post something that isnt supposed to be here I will either delete it or move it to a more appropriate board and send you an email privately letting you know what I did and why.

I am a 5th generation Shears from the west coast of Newfoundland. My ancestors were from Devonshire and with possible links (yet unestablished) to New England in late 1700's to early 1800's.
Common names: Richard, James, John, George, Allan, Thomas, Stephen, Gordon.
Looking to share info with other Shears researchers.

The Chadder family lived around Malborough, Devon in the early 18th century. Just east of Plymouth.
