I am looking for information on Matilda Shipman born April 3 1817 in CT and died March 15, 1888, Colon, St. Joseph Co., MI. Samuel was born March 15 1817 in Union Co., PA and died in Colon, St. Joseph Co., MI on July 25 1870 (noted in death record as accident). They had 11 children:
Robison Wilson (m. Sarah Dean)b.1841, Elizabeth(m.Percival Erastus Coney) b. 1842, Lydia (m. Edwin P. Wellsley) b. 1843, Malinda (m Edward Wagner) b. 1843, Henrietta (m. Elisha (John Jay) Babcock)b. 1846, Sarah Jane 1849, Albert 1851, Jane Caroline (m. Isaac A. Belote)b. 1853, Adeline (m.Lloyd Shade, Orseneus VanderVort) b. 1855, Sarah "Adell" 1857 (m. Samuel Young Bower) and Martha Hafer 1861.

Information from "History of ST. Joseph County Michigan" in biography of Samuel Bower...Our subject (Samuel Bower) was married in Colon on the 30th of November, 1882. His wife, who is a native of that place, was Adell, the daughter of Samuel and Matilda (Shipman) Hafer. Mr. and Mrs. Hafer were married in Buffalo Township, Union Co., Pa. And afterward settled there upon a farm, where they made their home for ten years. At the end of that period they removed to Colon, and settled on section 8. In the township of that name.

Any information on the families would be appreciated.
Thank You,
Jerri Larkin
