One Daniel Shipman was my Great,Great, Grandfather. I think that's right. My Great Grandfather was James Matthew Shipman. My Grandfather was Neil Shipman. James owned land in both Bladen and Columbus counties. I don't know if this land was passed down from Daniel. Neil and his half brother (William) by Jame's 2nd wife, lived on Red Hill RD. in between Clarkton and Whiteville NC. I traced out family back to Hamburg Germany. Don't know about anywhere earlier thank that.
