sounds great. I'm waiting on a new printer that has better scaning resolution then I have now. As soon as I get it I'll copy the doc and send to you. I'd appreciate anything you can do to fill in what I have. I've been playing with researching my bloodline off and on for for over 10 years. To bad I didn't get started on it when my great aunt Mercades was still alive as I understand that she had imformation that went back to the old country. But it was lost when she and her husband passed on in the 80's

Not that it maters much but my boodline will end with me as I do not hve any childern. So this is just personel intrest for me.

I would love to share with you. Is it possible to copy the document you talk about? I've been researching this family for about 10 years. I descend from Josephine Siedler married to Michael Hoffmann - sister to Joseph Frank Siedler married to Margaret. ( I have her as Margaret Beucher.) I haven't found the 1st marriage. Were some of the children from this first marriage and where did it take place? I'm also interested in what you have for Switzerland...an exact place. I know they were in Canton Schwyz (Kuessnacht area). Thanks for contacting me and sorry for the delay in answering.

Yes, I have a old printed document that verifies all of this.

My father: Joseph Alfred Siedler was born in 1927 in Yonker Ny. He married Leona Young in 1948. I have a sister Carol Siedler Noyes

My grandfather: Joseph Axtel Siedler ( born April 20, 1900) was married twice. First wife: Estele ( my grandmother). second wife: Lea Daughter of this marrage is my 1/2 aunt Karen Siedler

My great grandfather: Frank John Joseph Siedler ( born Oct 30, 1876) married: Elenoro Scott. Childern, Joseph Axtel & Mercedes

My great great grand father: Joseph Frank Siedler married: first wife Mary Clemens. Second wife Margaret Bechel

My Great great great grandfather: Joseph Siedler Married: Mary Magdalena Sigrist. Wife Mary died before Joseph came to America with 7 childern Nov 12, 1852 from Kuesgaracht, Switzerland

The document I have is a little confusing as some of it seems to have been translated to english. Ther is a lot more information on the children and spouses of the diffrent generations, but this does cary the lineage back to Switzerland. There is also some information on the Mees and Bechel familes in the document.

Where did your Siedler family settle? My Siedler Family settled in St. Clair county, Illinois. Father Joseph born 1808 in Switzerland - immigrated in 1852/53 with 7 children: Joseph born 1834, Josephine born 1839, Francis (Franz) born 1840, Stephen born 1843, Catherine born 1844, Anton born 1844, and Balthasar born 1847. Mother is believed to have died before immigrating or on the voyage.

I am currently researching my family tree. I am a decendant of the last name of Siedler. They were all in chicago, Ill. My great grandparents were Walter C. Siedler and Catherine L. Schmidt Siedler. They had two children, Walter B. Siedler and Laverne M. Siedler. I am the granddaughter of Laverne M. Siedler. I am looking to see who Walter C. Siedler's parents were. I have been trying to get my family tree information for a while now. Walter Siedler was my great grandfather and Catherine was my great grandmother. My maternal grandmother married Earl Sedler. His father was Ferninand Von Seidler. She said during the war he was an interpreter (German - English). She said she is not sure when the Von was dropped or when the i was removed from Sedler. This is all I know. I hope this is enough for someone to tell me something.

Looking for Siedler and Hendel's from either Belgium or Luxembourg

My family is somewhat of a mystry in this branch. I had a great great grandmother Anna Hendel (we think she married 2x -scandelous for that time) Anna would have been born in 1874 and we think Belgium, however it could be Luxembourg. She had a daughter Henriette Siedler born on 1898 in Paris France and then a son in 1901 by the name of Andrea Siedler, but unfortunatly Andrea died at the age of 26. I am running out of sources but I know they exist. If anyone out there could help me link my wild family tree-I would appreciate it. Maybe this bit of info may be of help, although my great grandmother would roll over in her grave if she knew I was writting this. We think my great great grandma Anna Hendel was possibly a dancer in Paris France during the hay-day of Can-Can dancers. (we think my great grand mother was ashmed of her mother being a dancer-but the rest of the family is good with it and thinks she must have been a rather colorful character) Anything, anything would help. I have even resorted to calling phone numbers in Luxembourg and trying to talk with some people-my French is not what it use to be-surely Im doing no justice to Americans world wide and our reputation that preceeds us. LOL so what are you going to do!?

POW/MIA, Korean War, SIEDLER

I am searching for the family of a soldier who was killed in the Korea War. When he entered service he gave Hamilton County Ohio as his home of record. His remains were never recovered.

Soldier: EDWIN PAUL SIEDLER
Born: Jan. 28, 1919, Caucasian
Date of loss: December 1, 1950, POW

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. The Siedler family is one of those missing.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (76 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

Mrs. Clarence Siedler, 42, of 3600 Link Valley, Apt. 18 lies waiting for an ambulance after her car was hit by another and overturned in the 3500 block of Drummond at about 10 a.m. today. She was taken to Methodist Hospital with head and back injuries. Police charged Mrs. Becky Baker James of 6202 Falley Forge with failure to yield the right of way.

I saw your posting on Rootsweb for Siedler. I too am searching for a family of Siedlers. The only thing I really know about them was that they lived near the Grand Concourse in New York City area. I only know that this Siedler married either Matilda or Lena Lange. They had 2 children that I know of. One is Lydia and the other was a son. This would have been around the late 1880's or so.

I was married to Robert Wayne Siedler from Ludington, MI in 1973. We have two sons Matthew Robert and Daniel Keith and now a grandson Ethan Benjamin.

Robert's father was named Glennon Harold (Ludington, MI)and was a twin with Kenneth (Minnetonka, MN).

Their mother was Elizabeth, but I don't remember their Father's name right off.

Siedler is not a very common surmane and there are very few of us in the States. I still have a father who is living and according to him I an the 7th (and last)of the line with the same name. From what little I have been able to find out my grandfather came from the Kansas/Oklahoma area.

I'd be interested if any one else can share some light on ancestors and family history.
