Sim's in Scotland

We are trying to locate family in Scotland.
Catherine Rutherford Balfour married George Sim in 1922, Catherine passed away in Glasgow in 1989 (info found on scotlandspeople website). We are unsure when George passed away. They had a son, also named George, born in 1923 and I believe his wife's name is Isabel but I could be wrong.
If anyone has any information or can direct me to who I should contact to help try and their family I'd greatly appreciate hearing from you. We've hit a brick wall.

I have a very poor copy of a photo taken by Thomas Sim that appeared in 1885 aberdeen news paper of an ancestor of mine called James Eddie.
My partners Great Uncles William; Alfred Henry; & George Sim emigrated to Canada in the early 1900's. Certainly, William & George who was killed in a logging accident were around Medicine Hat working. Their Father was Charles Sim and their Mother Isabella (Grant) Sim.
Thank you for sight of the birth certificate of what may be my grandfather - do you think I perhaps got his mothers name wrong? I thought her name was AGNES - I will ask my mother tomorrow. Concerning my grandmother, for some reason, I can't find the enclosure of what may be her birth certificate - can you resend it Jamie? Thank you for all your time Jamie, i was starting to think I wasn't going to go anywhere with this quest of mine. Regards Christina

I am so excited - I think this is my grandmothers birth certificate! I have asked my mother so often for some information about her and she couldn't give me any information other than that she used to receive lots of presents from America when she was growing up and that she knew her mother had died in Long Island New York. I can hardly wait 'till I can call her tomorrow morning to tell her I actually have seen a copy of her mothers birth certificate - I can't thank you enough but how did you do that? I am so grateful to you! regards Christina

Hi Jamie
I am afraid I have very little to go on - the problem is that my mother was brought up by her maternal grandparents here in Scotland (her mother returned to USA and my Grandfather to Canada) at that time, and that generation. it was regarded as scandalous and therefore she was told her father had been killed in a fire (he worked as a lumberjack in Canada) and it wasn't until the 1970s that she was told by his brother Alex and his wife Grace (who happened to be my grandmothers sister) that he was alive and had another family in Canada So you see, I have so little to go on. I don't believe he would have served in the military as he was athsmatic. The reason I mentioned Edmonton is because I was told he lived there with his new family. I really appreciate your correspondence! regards Christina

Thank you for your email - unfortunately I believe the John Sim I am seeking was still alive in 1960 - His mother Agnes Sim ne Donald is I believe also buried in Edmonton. John Sim is my Grandfather who has another family in Canada - (it could very well be that he had a son called John Sim but I just don't know) they have no idea of my existence - my mother was the result of his first marriage to my grandmother, I really appreciate your email, you are the only person who has responded in my quest! I never really thought about the cemeteries (I'm fairly new at all of this)!
Thank you, regards Christina
