Hi my name is Denise Sinkfield Ellis and my Grandfather had a brother name James from Georgia but I think he moved to Ohio. But there are a few James Sinkfield in Georgia. Contact me on facebook. I have a lot of Sinkfields on my page and maybe we can narrow down your family.

Samuel Sinkfield (GA, MN, OH)

Hi,

I am looking for Sarah, Stephanie and Kirk (?) Sinkfield, children of Samuel Sinkfield, my father, who was originally from Griffin, GA, but lived in Minnesota most of his life.

His mother (our grandmother)is Evelyn Spivey of Atlanta, GA.

We think that Sarah is still in Minnesota and she would be around 13 years old now.

Stephanie should be in her early 20s and possibly from/in Ohio.

Curt/Kurt/Kirk/ "Kirksie" (?) should be in his 30s and in either California or Minnesota.

ANY information would be appreciated.

Hi Curtis, I think I am friends with you on Facebook. I just saw this posting as I was doing some research on the family on the Internet. I sent you a email about my Sinkfield side of the family and would like to see if you are related to my Grandfather's siblings Sinkfield's in Ohio. They are from a different mother than my Grandfather. Any information you can give me please feel free to contact me here or on Facebook.
I know it has been a while since you posted the Family Reunion message. Are you still interested in having a reunion? Since Facebook I have found a lot of Sinkfield's and I am now trying to put us all together. I can head the Reunion for the Georgia Sinkfield's.
Let me know what you think. I am sure I can get the other Sinkfield from the NY and DC areas to participate.

Emily Jackson Sinkfield 1838-1894 died Granville, Ohio

Looking through MapleView cemetery interment records in Granville (Licking County) Ohio I found an Emily Jackson Sinkfield listed "Colored" She was born in Uniontown Pennsylvania and is buried in this cemetery. Her husband is buried there too but I didn't write down his name.
Hoping this may make a connection for someone.

I havent the slightest idea! LOL! Sounds the same though and it appears that both versions of the name are prominent in the south. I was once told that our name came from slave owners and that the spelling "SINKFIELD" was a simplified version of "SINQUEFIELD" and easier for slaves to spell based on sound. I have never been able to find the link. I saw your webpage on TRIBAL....nice.
