Email me at djpphelan@gmail.com and I can email you some (2 so far) .pdf files with stories from 1881 and 1899 that have info on the line in Baltimore, and their estate/real estate stories.
I can't seem to post .pdf files in this forum.
Dan Phelan
When I was living in Spain , in the early 50s, I met a Sitler family , the son who was called Charles Sitler , had an elderly father who worked for the State Department . I assume he was a diplomat . The family home was in Colorado . They were extremely nice people and Charles and I were very close friends . He was an only child . I must have photographs somewhere.

I noticed your post regarding the Sitler line. Do you have anything on Elias Sitler born in Berks Bounty PA 1825-1829? I believe he married Catherine Correll and had a son William (born 1855)but apparently left his wife and I have not been able to locate what happened to him. Catherine and William went to Indiana, and I have found a few Elias Sitlers but have not been able to connect them. Any insite would be great.
Pat.
Lakeland FL

To start off Jacob and Johann Sitler did live in Ohio but moved after their father Martin Sitler died in 1830. They moved to Waterloo, Ontario, Canada and most of the Sitlers or Sittlers in Canada came from these two sons. Their older brother was Solomon Sitler which is my line. If anyone would like more info on the Sitler family, Please ask.

All of them are related, and I have a plenty of genealogical material on them going o the 1700s.

If anybody is interested in those please let me know.

These Sitners/Sitners are NOT related to the German Sitlers from Pensylvania.

Sitler in Iowa from Ohio possible PA?

I just recently found a marriage record for my McIntire line to a C. D. Sitler 31 Jan 1893. He married Julia May McIntire in Washington County, Iowa. My McIntire clan originally from PA traveled to Belmont & Washington County Ohio known 1849-1868. Julia was the 1st child born in Iowa abt 1869 in Iowa Co., OH.

After their marriage I find Julia still living with her family in 1880 in Iowa. By 1910 she is married to Delmer C. Sitler and they resided and died in Minnesota. I have tried furiously to figure out who Delmer's parents were. He was born abt 1868 in Iowa died 21 May 1930 Anoka, MN. They had 4 known children -

Lyle V. Sitler b. abt 1894 Iowa
Goyne Upton Sitler b. 2 Dec 1895 in Minnesota d. 5 Feb 1987
Eva L. Sitler b. abt 1908 Minnesota
Bernice Sitler b. abt 1912 Minnesota

I belive he is of some relation to the Sitler's found 1880 in Lime Creek, Washington Co., IA. Mostly because this is where my McIntire line was living. Possible he removed there with family for some reason after the 1880 census.

I think it is possible that the Sitler's and McIntires may have removed from Ohio to Iowa together. There is a Sr. Sitler living in Washington Co. that was born 1780's i think stating born in PA. I do know that the McIntire's, Huffman's, Moore's removed from Ohio to Iowa as well.

Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

Many years ago I received an incomplete reference to the Sidler coat-of-arms and crest which I had checked by the herald of the National Genealogical Society. He told me no such coat-of-arms exists. I can send you the description and you might wish to have someone execute it for you. Whether it is a fraud or what, I cannot say. It would be unusual to say the least (the crest includes a mermaid). If it is a fraud it has been perpetuated for a very long time because the hand-printed/decorated baptismal of my great-great-grandfather includes two mermaids. I received the description of the coat-of-arms and the reference many years ago from a Sitler correspondent in Philadelphia. He had never seen it executed. A great-great-uncle (Sitler) wrote in his journal that it was a fraud. He did not say why. If you wish to discuss this further, e-mail me: asd7@juno.com Alice Sitler Dyck
W. H. Sitler

W. H. Sitler, attorney at law, ex-prothonotary of York County, is a native of Lower Windsor Township, was born January 24, 1849, and is a son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Burg) Sitler. His paternal grandfather was Abraham Sitler, an early settler of York County. Two brothers, John and Mathias, on account of religious persecution were banished from Germany and came to America, and from one of these our subject is descended. Our subject received his education at the public schools of York County. In 1875 he began the study of law, and was admitted to the bar, December 17, 1877. Politically he is a Democrat, and for many years has taken part in politics. In 1881 he was elected prothonotary York County, and most efficiently he filled the office for three years. Prior to his election to this office he was deputy prothonotary several terms. His marriage occurred in 1878, to Miss. Celia T. Ernry, a native of York County, who has borne him two children: Mable O. and Horace J. Mrs. Sitler is a member of the Reformed Church.

Taken from the book, “History of York County, Illustrated 1886” by John Gibson, Historical Editor

Well, at least in a straight line from my Father straight to
Baron Von Sitler. My family is a descendant from the Deitrich side.
I am looking for any photos, documents, or links to such, that will add a
personal touch to the names and dates I have compiled. If you have any, or
know where i can find some, i would be in your debt!!

here is my lineage from present backwards:(using just the males, it's too late in the night to type it all out!)

Chris Sitler 1966- present (myself)
Charles Sitler 1942- present (father)
Edwin Sitler b1909- grandfather
Ulyesses Sitler b 1875- ggf
William Sitler b1830- gggf
Samuel Sitler b 1803- ggggf
George Sitler b 1771- gggggf
Phillip Sitler b 1751- ggggggf
Dietrich Sitler b 1716- gggggggf
Baron Mathais Von Sidler b 1674 - ggggggggf
Frederich Sitler b 1624- gggggggggf

Once again, thank you for your time and i appreciate any help you can give me.Also, I do have info on this side of the family if anyone is interested.
