He said she had been looking for you for a long time.
We saw your picture of her on ancestry last night when we were looking at the Knapp family for our tree and wondered if it was the Pat that he knew.

Could your mother be Patricia May Slade who was born in Southampton, Hampshire in March 1944?
She lived in Plymouth in later years and had tried to find her son called Andrew, who had been adopted.

Micah, I remember you! Sorry for your loss as well. I know you cared about my brother. Billy was in Indiana, living with me and my family. He stayed for about a year and got another place. He passed away September 18,2000. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him.

WOW! I am sorry for your loss..After I went to korea I tried to find him, but all I could find out was that he was in Seattle with James. I never would have pictured him doing that, I wish he would have reached out to me and i could have helped, we had mutual friends in NC that always new how to contact me. Unfortunately my brother took his own life. He stepped in front of an Amtrak train. It still haunts me till this day. He was in the Air force. I kinda figured my dad died but wasn't sure. Thank you for the info.

I believe that the above Elinor HEYWOOD (baptized 18 Jan 1701 in Kington, Herefordshire, England) might be Reverend William TRISTRAM'S wife. The thing that bothers me is she would have been about 15 years old from the time of her baptism. William TRISTRAM was a vicar of Norton in 1684, and of Llanvihangel-nant-Melan, Radnor, Wales in 1703-1736. William & Elizabeth Heywood Tristram's daughter my Elizabeth TRISTRAM (b. 1717-d. 1799) was md in 1733 to my John SHEEN (1709 Glascwm, Radnor, Wales-1763 Llanvihangel-nant-Melan, son of Thomas SHEEN and Marie "Mary" DAUNSEY.
(Dauncey/Dauntsey etc;)).

I have some information on each of these HEYWOOD, TRISTRAM, SLADE families, but I need a lot more.

Any help on any of these families would be appreciated.

He is listed on 1891 & 1901 census married twice (?divorced or widowed) had 4 children Edward, Alice, Albert, & Arthur. He can also be found on the 1881 census living as a lodger with his 1st wife in Twickenham. Would love to hear from anyone either from the Cardiff end where he was born or Norfolk where he lived in Worstead, nr North Walsham. I cannot find any birth details, marriage, or census information prior to 1881. HELP!

The names of the 3 sons are unknown except for the son baptized in Weythell, Parish of Gladestry, Radnor Wales who was Vicar William Trustram/Tristram baptized 1657. William TRISTRAM (Alumni Oxonienses lists William Tristram as the son of Nic. of Waythett Co., Radnor, Jesus Coll. matric 18 July 1673, aged 16, BA 1677 etc). William married an unknown wife (possibly Magdalene PROBERT who a William TRYSTRAM md 2 May 1690 Knill, Hereford, England or Mariae of Elton, Hereford, England) who died about 1695 Elton, Hereford, England after their son Reverend William TRISTRAM b. between 1689-1695 in Hereford-d.1739 Cwm, Gladestry, Radnor, Wales. William TRISTRAM (b. 1689-1695 in Hereford) married about 1716 to Elinor HEYWOOD (baptized 18 Jan 1701 Kingston, Hereford, England).

Elinor was the dau. of William HEYWOOD and Hannah "Anne" SLADE of Hereford who were married 13 Jan 1684 in Bromyard, Hereford, England. Where was Hannah born? Who are Hannah SLADE'S parents?

William HEWOOD's father William died 1668 in Kington and his mother Mary d. 1716 in Kington. Would appreciate any information on the TRISTRAMS, SLADES, and HEYWOODS of Herefordshire.

Any help with any information on these families, connections, and/or corrections would be appreciated.

They are Edwin b. 1841, George b. 1837 and Jane b. 1843 (years approximate). Only their other son Charles is listed in 1850 census with parents. Family settled in Knox County, IL. Thanks!

William LeVee Slade was Wm. Brozel Slades father. Wm. Brozel went by Sonny Slade. Sonny's sister is LaFaye. The name Brozel comes from his uncle Brozel who lived in Las Vegas. The Vegas Brozel was the oldest child of Wm. Benjamin and Elizabeth Anderson Slade and they lived in Richfield, Utah. They had nine children.

Old needlework by Helen Rogers 1834 daugher of Ann Slade

There is a needlework piece for sale in a shop near my home. It has the birth and death dates of Henry R. Rogers b. Apr 25 1804, d. May 2 1829, the birth date for Ann Slade Rogers b. March 10 1803, their marriage date of Jan 29 1823, and information on three children, Byron M. Rogers b. July 16 1824 d. Sep 19 1826, Helen Rogers b. Dec 12 1825 and Hortense Rogers b. August 19 1827 . At the bottom, it says "Wrought by Helen Rogers 1834". Helen Rogers may have died young.I know that Hortense married Elliott Hartwell and had many children and died in Utah. The widow Ann Slade Rogers married Henry Cleaveland and had more children.

The shop wants $95.00 for it, which isn't bad, considering it's age. I have no connection to the seller. If you're interested, the website is:

Slade - Vincent Connection

Looking for any Slades with a Vincent connection. We have an Edith M Vincent who married Franklin Levi Slade in 1903. So far, only child found - Florence. They married in Boston (she was from NS Cda) - lived in Boston & Washington - although he was from the spice milling family, he worked for the railroad.

the Slades lived in Highland Park, Illinois in a house designed by noted architect Joseph Silsbee. They moved to Phoenix where he died in 1936 and she moved back to the Chicago area. I haven't found any record of any children.

Happy Memorial Day!

I'm not sure what kind of information you're looking for ... I have a copy of the Slade-Babcock Genealogy by Carl Boyer ... Mr. Boyer consulted with your Mr. Babcock when writing his mini-book. There are even a couple of pictures in the book of family reunions held in Saratoga and Saratoga Springs.

I can give you the ancestry back from Nelson Slade to the early 1600's; however, I don't have a lot of info on your Nelson and his children since our lines split at this generation. My husband's line continues with Nelson's brother Philip Slade.

Let me know exactly what type of info you're looking for so I don't duplicate something you already have and I'll be happy to help you out.

Slade Genealogy ---Research of George Milton Babcock

In The Utah Genealogcial and Historical Magazine, volume VI: July 1915, pages 118-126. "A Branch of the Slade Family" was published by George Milton Babcock.

At the end of the article, Mr. Babcock states "The Slade genealogy was gathered during the years 1913-1914, wholly by correspondence with various members of the Slade family ... the geanealogies [are] nearly complete of the descendants of each Slade gird mentioned above ..." He hoped to publish "a complete genealogy in book form of the Slade Family of America".

Were the research papers/materials and the personal genealogical correspondance of George Milton Babcock deposited with a library collection?

Did Mr. Babcock publish a book on the Slade Family of America?

I am especially interested in his research on the Slade-Rowland families of Saratoga County, New York.

Any information for the existence and location of Mr. Babcock's papers will be greatly appreciated.

Time flies - another 5 years since last post in this string! I am also following the Slade and Croggon connections of my wife. I have a lot of Walter Oke Croggon's story (father of Marianne Slade) and am just beginning on George. Church histories don't seem to be very accurate. Am happy to swap material.

Hi,
I am the granddaughter of William Moses Slade (1888-1935).He was the older brother Edgar Thompson) Her name was Elizabeth Slade Ramsey(1915-1998). I knew Uncle Ed & Aunt Mary quit well. I also met Mary Chichi, Otis and Ivey.
G Grandmother Nettie Peterson Slade was the wife of William M Slade. She was the only one of her siblings to marry. She died 6 wks after my granddaddy.
We use to visit Uncle Ed & Aunt Mary a lot when we all lived in DC area. Uncle Ed use to sit me on his lap and tease me. He would tell me about my granddaddy and as I look back now I think he was trying to be a granddaddy to me since he knew my brother Bill and I never knew him.
I'd love to hear from you. If you check Facebook which is free at this time you will find me and quite a few Slades on there. Even Audrey and Gerald Slade.

It is a beautiful, quaint place. The only store has closed, they have a nice meeting hall. Two churches and cemetaries. We really enjoyed going and would like to go back one day and do some exploring. Short of time when we were there. Met a wonderful guy that lived by the old store. He knew where the old plantation was located, he said that there were share cropper houses at one time far back of the old store.

I'm the granddaughter of William Moses Slade son of William W and Nettie Peterson Slade. Uncle Ed was the younger brother of my granddad. He was married to Mary Smith. My granddad's younger sister Maude Ivey Slade married Jessie Carr "Bud" Royster older brother my grandmother Minnie Lee Royster Slade. That made my mother Alma Elizabeth Slade Ramsey and Aunt Maude and Uncle Bud's daughters, Clara and Ruth double first cousins.
As a matter of fact I have just found my cousin Jim Slade son of Edgar Ogburn Slade. He's Uncle Ed and Aunt Mary's oldest son.
I live in Chesapeake, Va and Jim lives in Williamsburg, Va. Isn't that awesome. We have lived so close to each other and didn't know it.
Audrey Slade Willis, Uncle Ed's youngest child the twin to Aubrey Slade is on Facebook as is Jim. There are alot of our cousins on Facebook.

I am the granddaughter of William Moses Slade. His daughter Alma E Slade Ramsey was my mother.
I have been working on the Family Tree and would love to have some pictures of my family. I know there aren't any pictures of Granddaddy but one and I have that. I take after him and he hated to have his picture made.
My mother also had a brother named Robert Wilson Slade. He died when he was three of croop{?}. My mom was 18 months old. I do have a picture of the two of them together that hangs over my bed.
I also wanted to tell you that Granddaddy died in 1935, 6 weeks before his mother, Nettie Peterson Slade.
I also have just found my cousin Jim Slade grandson of Edgar Thompson Slade. His dad was Edgar Ogburn Slade, Uncle Ed's oldest son.
