Caleb Sloan's (1671-1751, Antrim, Ireland - Duplin, NC) Parents?

I have seen a lot of trees that indicate the father of Caleb Sloan as being William Sloan of Killyleagh, Ireland's (brother of Sir Hans Sloane and James Sloane) son, but the only references I have found for the children of William Sloan include William and Sarah; no reference to Caleb. Does anyone have definitive citations on the parents of Caleb Sloan (his spouse was Nancy Jane)?

I am looking for information on my great grandmother. Her name was Mollie Kelley, and she married Roy Sloan (Possibly Leslie's brother?) in 1936. Mollie had my grandmother Lois Jean Kelly in 1935, but did not raise her. I know Mollie and Roy had atleast 2 maybe 3 children. I would love to find any information on any of them.

My Sloan was Lavinia Sloan and born he same day. Married Oliver Stevens, stayed in Syracuse until her husband died in 1885 and moved to daughters in Chicago and died there in 1899. She has the same birthdate, 5-5-1813 (written in her husband's hand) as Louisa. Were they twins, also children were named Augustus (twice) and Gaylord. Leads me to beleive that these two families (Louisa and LAvinia's) were connected. Louisa had Kellogg Gaylord as a brother who had an Augustu as well.

Death of John Sloan - Nebraska 1926

transcribing obituaries and death notices from our local news archives (Scotia, Nebraska):

The Scotia Register
Volume XXXII, Thursday, October 21, 1926, pg. 1, column 2
VICTIM OF A GUN ACCIDENT
Wheeler Ranchman Bled to Death in His Wagon
John Sloan, a ranchman, living seven miles north of Ericson in Wheeler County, was the victim of a runaway accident and gun tragedy last Friday afternoon.
According to information reaching Greeley, Sloan was driving a team near his ranch at the time of the fatal accident. The horses became frightened and started to run away. In the confusion Sloan stepped on the trigger of the gun, it is believed. The charge entered his left hip and side. He bled to death.
In the evening, Mrs. Sloan discovered the body in the wagon. She immediately summoned medical aid from Ericson, but death had taken place a few hours before.
The deceased is said to have been about 55 years old. He is survived by a widow and seven children.
Funeral services were held at Ericson, Tuesday afternoon. - Greeley Citizen

Julie Middendorf
mjmiddendorf@nctc.net

Norwood was born about October 1915. He died 3 Aug 1967 in Taylor County Texas and is buried in Abilene State School Cemetery, Abilene, Taylor Co., TX, USA. This is an uncle of my sister in law. I have been researching this family for quite some time and am having much difficulty tracking down information on Norwood's father George. Can you help me fill in more information?
Hope this helps
Theresa

Hi my name is Linda. I am a decendent of Edward Fell born in Staveley, Westmoorland, England in 1967. I am trying to find any information of my family tree. I do not know his parents names, I think he had a sister Sarah J. Fell born in 1870-71. they were borders of Joseph and Mary Knowles in Over Staveley, Westmoorland England in the 1871 census. I know that Edward married Mary Agnes Cannan in 1889 in Staveley and he was listed as living in Troutback, Bridge. They were in the 1901 census in Scotland as Fall and had William E., Harold and Leonard Cannon Fall at this time. They lived in Kendal Engand in 1891. there was also a Daugher named Sarah Jane. I live in Canada. William, Harold and Leonard all migrated to Canada in the early 1900's and I am a result of this migration. Our family history is a big blank, my grandfather and his brothers would not talk about their past and any inquirories to my great aunt Sarah remained unanswered if you have any info. please forward it to me or any way I can find any history would be greatly helpful for my father and my proudness of the Fell name as we have never had.
thank you Linda

Could the 2nd husband of Mary Crockett be a Sloan?

I am looking for the second husband's name for Mary Crockett. She married (1) Thomas Nicholson of Albemarle VA. Mr Nicholson died shortly after the marriage and his widow married (2) UNKNOWN and moved to the Ohio River area of Northern Kentucky. I am trying to determine the connection between the Crockett surname and the Sloan surname as my 2x great grandfather was a Dr. Samuel Crockett Sloan b abt 1796 in Pulaski County Kentucky. Dr Samuel Sloan married Pocahontas Rebecca Peyton Harrison of Fayette Kentucky. Her line traces to the Harrison/Carter/Cabell families of the James River plantations of Virginia, and yes of course her namesake.

HOLTARON, in the "1945 > Washington > Precinct 16 > 2" Florida State Census there are 4 Sloan boys (J.Q., William, Clinton and Herman) living with the Oscar Newton family. Their mother Eula married T.D. Sloan. T.D. died in 1936 about the time Herman was born and it seems she then married Oscar. T.D. & Eula are in the Jackson County Federal Census for 1930.

Good Luck, Dwight...

Does anyone have any information on the parents of Lydia Sloan from old Fairfield who married Silas Olmstead? I see someone has her father listed as Charles, but see no support for that. Thanks

Alexander Sloan 1

I am seeking the names of Alexander Sloan 1's parents. I think that they were either from Scotland or Ireland. He was born before 1775 in KY, VA, NC. Married Ruthy (Ruthie, Rutha) Lee in Green Co., Ky and died in Hardin County, Tennessee. Any help appreciated.
