William Smale (b. abt 1825 England)

I am looking for information about my great great grandfather William Smale. He was married to Mary "Agness" Garbutt (b. abt 1826 England). They immigrated to Canada and resided in the Ingersoll (Upper Canada) area. William and Agness had ten children: Emma, Isaac, William, John, Charles, Henry, Mary J., Fredrick, Franklin (my great grandfather) and Ella.

I would appreciate any information on William and Agness and their fmaily.

I am Ethel's granddaughter. She had six children in all...William, Emily, Stillborn girl, Robert, Agnes, and Walter. Have all info on them if interested.

Ethel had a brother James Emerson Smale. I am wondering what happened to him?

Joseph and Margaret had several children, as recorded in the Littlehempston Parish Records. Joseph, born 1770, I believe was the son of John Smale andMary Browse, who married in Littlehempston in1764. Their other children were Ann, James, Mary, Robert (born1767) and Rebecca. I have no knowledge of Robert I;m afraid. My interest is in John Smale, who I believe was Josephs half brother.

Nice to see your post. I haven't checked these posts for years. My grandfather was John Smale (b 1888, Plumstead)(married in his 40s in Saskatchewan, Canada). My great-grandparents were Richard and Theresa.

I would really enjoy hearing about your husband's Smale lineage.

Hi i am looking for Ioan Thomas Llewellyn Smale born 1881 in Swansea, his parents were Charles Henry and Lydia (nee Morgan). Ioan married Mary Alice Morgan in 1908. They emergrated to Toronto Canada in 1910. As far as we know they had 5 children, Rosaline, John, Leslie, Margaret and Ivan? or Ioan. Contact was lost during the 1960's. so ANY info on this family would be gratefully received.

I am looking for Joseph Smale Born abt 1790 - 1799 in Little Hempston Devon England and married Margaret Stranger in 1813 in Holne Devon and moved back to Little Hempston Devon England.

I am looking for family information as I believe among their children they had a son named Robert Smale born 1826 England who moved to Guernsey Channel Islands before the 1841 census as I find him as a lodger in Guernsey Channel Islands.

Robert Married Louisa Pallot and had a family.

I wondered if your Ellen Smale is the same one as in my family tree. Born c1855 Plumstead. Father Richard Smale, 1821,probably born Wilmington, Kent. Richard married Eliza Cleverly but died and she remarried Henry Hickman and they lived in Plumstead.

Many of the Smales in the Lambton census in 1881 connect.
Mine are as follows: Isaac & Rebecca Smale (direct line),
John Whitlock Smale (Ist cousin of Isaac) & Robert Smale
brother of Isaac. Isaac b-1831 died in Florence abt. 1889.

Hello, I am Joseph Louis Smale's Great Grandaugter and live in the UK. My father is Michael Smale and also lives in the UK. He was born in Guernsey but was evacuated in the war along with his two brothers and his Mum and sister were evacuated a few days later. His father was Joseph Peter Edward Smale who married Edith Elise Perchard. We are in contact with relatives in Australia. I would be very interested to find out your link to the Smale family.

Barnstable is still "Smale country" - there is an Estate Agent "John Smale" (www.johnsmale.com) who were established in 1900 but without any Smale's listed as contacts. Might be worth a try though.

For recent people, you could try the phone book records on Ancestry.com

Personally, my family is not from there - as far as I know.

Hello. I am trying to find out what happened to Humphrey Smale. Born about 1821 in Bratton Clovelly, Devon, the last place I found him was in Penge, Surrey in the 1891 Census. He was living with his grandaughter Maud. He seems to disappear after that although I can't find an entry for his death. Anyone know where he went?

Isaac Blasdell (Deacon) married Rebecca Misener (1782-1855) in Beverly Township, Ontario (Lynden). He may have been previously married in Georgetown, Maine.
Genealogical records show his children as: Sarah b-1796 USA, Elizabeth b-1797, Isaac b-1800, Daniel b-1805, Jonathan b-1806, Richard b-1812, Jane b-1815, William b-1824 and possibly Ruth b-1808 who married Jacob Cope.

I am looking for anyone who can help me I am trying to research my Great Great Grandfather Joseph Loius Smale he was born in Guernsey in 1881 and he married a Charlotte Le Ruez. He had 5 boys and 3 girls, his wife died at a very young age. He died when he was at the age of 54. His parents were Peter Henry Smale and Joesphine Le Bargy. If anyone can help please do as I live in Australia and trying to research family from Enlgand and Guernsey is hard if someone can help I will be so happy to contact relatives I have never meet.
