I've just started doing my family tree and have just noticed your question. My great grandmother was a Soar and Jemima Soar is the wife of my 1st cousin 4x removed!
If you look at the Key family tree then you'll be able to fill in some of the gaps. I'm slowly updating it.

Still searching for Sullivan Soar. COrrections to previous post. George SOar married Annie Walsh not morgan. George and Annie are buried in a Catholic cemetery in Brooklyn. Buried with them are Stanley Morgan (Infant son of her sister (name unknown) and Stanley Morgan. I would love to have information on this family Annie had a sister Bridget married to Peter Lyman who took in Annie's children George and Edward after George and Annie died.

Mother variously spelt as Roseanna,Rosanna,Roseannah

There is also at the same Church, Father Jasper Saywell
16.11.1845 Ann
7.2.1847 Emma

Mother shown as Sarah

In addition to the marriage of Jasper to Roseanna Middleton above there is also a marriage at the same Church 25.12.1844 Jasper Saywell/Sarah Knight. This may/may not be the same Jasper

A transcription I have of the 1841 Census for Windmill St, Radford , has Joseph 30 Yrs, Rose 27 Yrs, with children John 10, Rose 8, Alfred 6 and Jasper 1. It looks as thouigh Joseph may be Jasper?? although the original does say Joseph.

I am at present researching my family tree and feel you may be able to help. I believe that Jasper and Roseanna had a daughter Rose Ann born 18th November 1932 at Radford but I am not able to trace what happened after that. I would like to know did Jasper and Roseanna have any other children. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone,
Could SKS please do a look-up for me in the 1841 or 1851 censuses or marriage databases to help me find the parents of my 3x Great grandparents? Or does anyone have any other ideas on how to find out for sure who their parents were?

I am looking for more information on my 3rd great grandfather, Henry SOAR and his wife Emma SAYWELL, from Nottingham.

This is what I know about him:
He was born on 3 March 1830 in France, as a British subject.
He married Emma Saywell and had atleast 6 children with her starting in 1852.
Their children were born in France, Lenton and Nottingham proper and atleast one came to the USA.
He died before 1891.
From IGI records, I believe that his parents were Francis Soar and Ann Hough and that he was baptised on 7 October 1832 in the Weslyan Chapel in Beeston.
From other researchers' I've heard that Emma's parents were Jasper Saywell and Roseanna Middleton, but I have not been able to confirm this. From family records I know Emma was born 8 March 1830 in Radford.

I would appreciate any help anyone could give me,

George Soar son of Sullivan Soar

I am trying to find information on the Soar family George Soar was born in either england or wales. He moved to New York at the age of 11 and Died in 1916 at the age of 36. His wife listed his fathers name as Sullivasn SOar born in England and the mothers name as unknown. I'm hoping someone out there can help me with this. His wifes name was Annie Morgan.

Your Nottingham Soar family may be related to my own who came from Horseley in Derbyshire. I am related to Mary Soar born 1811, father Henry born abt 1871. The descendents of Mary did move to Nottingham, so there may be a family connection here.

I am looking for any information on the Soar family in Nottingham. I have gone as far back as Henry Soar b. in 1843 who was married to Jemima. They had 6 children - Rose, Mary, Edith, George, Joseph, Sarah. My line of the family is descended from George (b.1868). George also had 6 children - Annie, George, Walter, Frank, Ellen, Robert.
