Hello My grandfather was Pedro Soto. The names you mentioned are not familiar, but then again I don't have much information on his family. I know he was from texas possibly El paso. Hello My name is Genesis, My mother Nilza Soto has been looking for her father also named luis soto... she was born in 1962 I know very little about the story but from what I've heard he is a part of a much larger family the echandia's, and they are very secretive. Hi Adolfo, are you related to Manuela Soto Solis of Eagle Pass,Tx? She had a Sister by the name of Maria Alvarado, they crossed the US Boarder from Sinaloa,Mx cerca 1921. Hi Gilbert, wow I seen your post & its odd that the date u posted it was 11/11/11 that was my moms birthday, unfortnitly she no longer is with us she passed away on 10/18/2011. it's been a very though time for us right now, Bt we ( my sisters) & I still remain close. I just read your post today (11/11/11) and I must say that it is a pleasure to write you.

My great grandparents (on my mom's side) are Rosalio and Maria Valles. Their son Carlos is my grandfather and your uncle.
Carlos married Margarita Lopez and had my mom Rosa Maria and aunt Esperanza and my uncles Alfredo, Carlos Jr and two other kids that passed away when they were little.

My mom lives in Encinal and remembers your family.

Hello, I am trying to locate information and/or descendants of Ramon and Lucy Soto who were living in the San Pasqual Valley Bernardino in 1906. They had family who emigrated to Australia, James and Juanita Stansell in the 1880s. Juanita was possibly Lucy's sister. I would appreciate hearing from anyone with knowledge of this Soto family.

My grandfather was Moises Sepulveda Soto born in El Paso Texas in the 1880's,
I believe. He married Marina Reyes from Chihuahua. They had sons named David, Eli, Saul (my dad born in 1923), Beto and another who died as a young man. They had two daughters named Connie and the youngest Elizabeth (Betty). They are all deceased. My dad was born in Los Angeles and was the last to pass away in 2009 at 86 years old.
I'm looking for cousins. I want to know my fathers family. Please help.

I would like to know information about his siblings. I think he may have had sisters. Florencio Soto's parents are Sabino Soto and Hipolita Jimenez. His parents may have been born in San Lorenso and Viesca, Coahuila, Mexico. They seemed to have live in both Mapimi, Durango; San Lorenso and Viesca, Coahuila, Mexico. Florencio immigrated to California in the late 1800's. Any information will be helpful.

My grand mother was named Jovita Soto, From El Paso however she passed away around 1956. Jovita Soto married George Vasquez who later left her and their two daughters alone. Macrina and Elena (my mom) who moved to L.A. area in California.

I believe my dad (Ramon Soto) had either a brother or an Uncle in the LA area named Gabriel Soto. I'm not sure of his wife's name but I know that Gabriel Soto died way back in the 60's. He had a couple of daughters and a son, also name Gabriel who would be about 50'ish right now. I think one of the daughters was named Elizabeth and she'd be in her mid 50's or possibly nearing 60 years of age.

This family did come from Mexico, in the Parral (Hidalgo del Parral) and/or Chihuahua areas.

I have seen the website by Mr. Mike Méndez.
The father of Francisca de Sotomayor was Francisco de Sotomayor (c.1735), as researched by Dr. Ellen Fernández-Sacco.
I too have written about our Sotomayor (Soutomaior) family. It is a work in progress, and I will update the manuscript soon (more on Cristóbal de Sotomayor (b.1474-1511), but you can read a preliminary version by going to my website:

I am also tracking down my father's family history. My father was born Cesar Sotomayor, son of Juan Sotomayor who came to NYC in 1917.

You can find the old castle de Sotomaior near Pontevedra, Galicai, in the town named after Sotomayor/Sotomaior.

My maternal grandfather's name was Francisco Gurrola, he had a sister who worked in Las Minas in the Mexican state of Coahuila, she past on some years ago...He was the oldest of a family of 13-18 people...details are sketchy but they had established themselves in Durango, Mexico. Their parents were of Moroccan-Spanish descent and were also Muslim, but were made to convert to Catholicism due to the Inquisition. They possessed a Royal Spanish seal that officiated their legal right to operate a bakery. They fled to Mexico from Spain/Morocco when the Inquisition got worse, only to find that in Mexico it was not very different. I believe they were Bedouin or of some nomadic tribe. My great-great-grandfather was from Fes, Morocco and his wife was of Spanish descent.

Viviana Soto was an aunt to my great-great-great grandma Jacinta Gonzalez. If it is the same woman, she was a coastonoan (sp?) indian and they were interviewed and songs were recorded by them in 1910.
