There is a Mrs. Pearl Spangler mentioned in her father's Allegan County, Michigan obituary: "Robert Howard died at his home in Saugatuck, Saturday, 11 Feb 1911, at 9:20 AM and was buried from the house Wednesday, and the remains laid to rest in the Manlius Cemetery, where other relatives have this last resting place. Mr. Howard was 83 years of age. He was born in Pennsylvannia and went to Canada with his parents when a small child but moved here ten years ago. He leaves a wife and four children, Wesley of Charlevoix, MI, Mrs. Whitmore, Martin Howard and Mrs. Pearl Spangler, also six grandchildren."

Robert Howard MAY HAVE BEEN Robert Bumhower who was born in Camden, Ontario, Canada on 07 April 1828. He married twice: (1) Mary Carkener in 1863 & (2) Amanda S. Brown (a.k.a. Mrs.Robert Ormsbee) in 1883.
