I see this post is almost 3 years old. I hope you are still able to get this...We are related. My grandfather is the son of Braxton Speller. He mentioned that Braxton had 21 children. I believe that your father and my grandfather are brothers. My grandfather is Edward and he lives in Colerain, NC. I'd love to talk to you!

The Rueben I have B: 1842-1929 married to Emily in 1870 & 1880, married to Emma in 1900, married to Emily in 1910 census says 2nd marriage, widow in 1920
In the 1900 census a child is listed B: July 1885 female, the name is very difficult to read ?onna is what I came up with but I am not sure if I am correct.

Joyce has been very generous with her information which I have as well. She is the person who invited us to a Speller/Beckey reunion in Michigan a couple of years ago. It was a great experience and proved beyond a shadow that we had found our grandmother, Rosa Mae Speller. Good luck with your search.

Glad to see some activity on the Speller name. Further back I am looking for my GGrandfather, Silas Speller and his wife, Elizabeth McGucken Speller. We need to know where they were when they died and where they are buried. I think that the younger Speller's mentioned are decendants of Norman Speller (Oldest son of Silas and Elizabeth. Would love to hear from anyone who might have information about these people.

My grandmother. Florence Speller, was a sister to Walter Herbert born 1897. Walter Herbert born 1917 was my mother's cousin. Please write me at joycevan@knology.net and I can send you about 5 generations back of our Speller family. Leona, who I think would have been your great aunt lived with us in Morenci for awhile. I corresponded with one of her daughters just a few years back.
There have been two reunions of the Speller/Beckey family in the fall of 2008 and 2009 everyone there would have been

I am the granddaughter of a Walter Herbert Speller. I was born in Lenawee county. I do not know much of my grandfather's history, we may, in fact be related.

Trying to find Elizia's (B:1878-1880)parents/thought to be Rueben Speller Born in about 1847(Whites, Bertie, NC). Joseph Bond(B:1880)& Eliza (B:1878)lived in Indian Woods, Bertie in 1910. Joe died before 1920. Elizia still lived in the same area in 1920.
Looking for additional information on Elizia's side. The family was African American.

Hello My Name is Terrance Johnson. My father was Milton Lee Johnson. His father was James Johnson. he was married to Janie Speller Johnson. Her father was Plummer "Pie" Johnson, who was married to Inse Johnson. His Mother was Effie Bond Speller who I believe was married to or lived with Robert Speller of Winsdor, NC. Before you add please check to make sure they are not on the tree. You can do this by doing a search on the name of the person, going into index and finding the person by last name, or clicking on the green tree of the person parent and expand to see. Since the tree is over 2500 people, what you may think is a small thing could cause major damage and duplications.

Since there are so many people, viewing the tree in the view tree mode will prove to be a trying task(at least 10 - 12 Generations), depending on which generation you are in.

Please, Please be careful.

My maternal Grandmother was Kate Elfreda Speller, born in East London. Her father was Charles Speller, born about 1844 in Linton, Cambridgeshire. His parents were Joseph and Elna, but I don't know where they originated. Siblings of Charles were George, Jane, Rosanna,Samuel and Emily.Any help!

The Thomas Speller that she has listed is the greatgrandfather of the Thomas Speller that you are directly related through Effie Bond.

He is linked to the Spellers. Henry Speller appears to start the Spellers in eastern North Carolina. I have found a Henry Speller married to a Patience Parrish in Chowan County (Edenton). This Henry Speller's children then intermarried through all of the old families in South Virginia and North Carolina. Their children then migrated all over what is now the Southern states. Some of Henry's first issue appear to be mulatto and left North Carolina in about 1690 or there about. They evently ended up in Idaho and other northwestern states as white.

When I get a chance, I will send you some webpages of others who find themselves connected to the Bertie County Spellers. If the Spellers connect themselves to Spellers in the early 1700s, the are all mostly likely biological relatives.

Hi Katrina, My name is Felisha Speller I am 33 years old we have family it seems all all over.And by thw way Po Boy is my grandfathers cousin. George Speller was my grandfather he died in 2001. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, ny. The only family reunion I can remember is in 1982 in North Carolina, then another one in Norfolk, Virginia in 1992 but, our Speller family is extremely large with the majority from downsouth.
