We need to know where they were when they died and where they are buried. I think that the younger Speller's mentioned are decendants of Norman Speller (Oldest son of Silas and Elizabeth. Please write me at joycevan@knology.net and I can send you about 5 generations back of our Speller family. I corresponded with one of her daughters just a few years back.
There have been two reunions of the Speller/Beckey family in the fall of 2008 and 2009 everyone there would have been
your family.
Tiffani Speller and Marilyn Johnson-Hickman have done a lot of work documenting our Speller family tree in www.Geni.com, please feel free to contact Marilyn or Tiffani and they will send you an invitation to the family tree. Or maybe they will just add you to the Speller tree.

---------------------------------------------------------
Message from Marilyn to the Speller Family, below:

Hello Fam (12/14/08 at 8:54 PM)
A lot of hard work has gone into this project. Before you add or invite any relatives please make sure they are not already on the tree/or have already joined the tree. Since I've added over 1000 people I doubt if there is anyone who hasn't been added except for in your immediate family.

Before you add please check to make sure they are not on the tree. You can do this by doing a search on the name of the person, going into index and finding the person by last name, or clicking on the green tree of the person parent and expand to see. Since the tree is over 2500 people, what you may think is a small thing could cause major damage and duplications.

Since there are so many people, viewing the tree in the view tree mode will prove to be a trying task(at least 10 - 12 Generations), depending on which generation you are in.

Please, Please be careful.

Thank You
Marilyn Johnson-Hickman
mhickman@nc.rr.com

Tiffani Speller
tiffanispeller@gmail.com
www.geni.com
Hello Alfred,

My name is Johnnie Etheridge and I'm interested in gathering information about my grandmother (Fannie Lewis Speller) and other relatives. If you still have a copy of the pdf of the Speller line I'd love to get a copy. From the research that I've done so far, I believe that Plummer and my great great grandfather Willie were brothers. You can send any information to johnnieetheridge@aol.com Thanks kin.

I am correcting some information. I should have spelled Patience Parrish as Patience Parris.

The Thomas Speller that she has listed is the greatgrandfather of the Thomas Speller that you are directly related through Effie Bond.

He is linked to the Spellers. Henry Speller appears to start the Spellers in eastern North Carolina. I have found a Henry Speller married to a Patience Parrish in Chowan County (Edenton). This Henry Speller's children then intermarried through all of the old families in South Virginia and North Carolina. Their children then migrated all over what is now the Southern states. Some of Henry's first issue appear to be mulatto and left North Carolina in about 1690 or there about. They evently ended up in Idaho and other northwestern states as white.

When I get a chance, I will send you some webpages of others who find themselves connected to the Bertie County Spellers. If the Spellers connect themselves to Spellers in the early 1700s, the are all mostly likely biological relatives.

Mr. Speller, I would love to have a copy of the tree you have worked on. I have just begun to help a Speller to find his ancestors from NC. Thanks, JAn
