Can you tell me who the father and mother of Francis Buchanan (Birth:1785 - Person, North Carolina Death: 2 Jan 1815 - Hopkins, Kentucky). She married John Springfield on 9 Jul 1803 in Person, North Carolina. The record refers to an Arthur Buchanan. He may be her brother. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

Hi, I am trying to research my father's Springfield side and hitting a wall.
His father was John L, grandfather Lewis (Louis?)
I show Lewis Springfield in the 1900 census living in Greenwich, NJ with an A. Lincoln Curtis & Eleanor Curtis, children Lewis & Wiliam B Springfield and John W. Curtis
By 1910 he is in Whitehall, PA as a nephew to Robert and Sarah Ben.
I cannot find out his mother's maiden name, nor who his father was, as I am assuming Eleanor was widowed and remarried to A. Lincoln.
Any information on this line would be greatly appreciated

Soloman Langston m. Sarah Bennett. (They are my 6th gr grandparents) This Solomon Langston who married Sarah Bennett, was never a Springfield. Solomon and Sarah had a daughter named Laodicea "Dicey" Langston. She married Thomas Springfield. Laodicea, and the information of Solomon and Sarah are registered with the Daughter's of American Revolution, so it has been well researched, documented and proven beyond doubt. Yes "Dicey" and Thomas did have 22 children.

In the March 2010 issue of the National Archives Volunteer Newsletter, "The Columns," there is an article about the death of Morris Springfield and subsequent pension records concerning his wife, Esther, and son, Maurice (Civil War widows’ certificate pension case files, File number WC# 38414). Morris was in Co. F, 69th Regiment, Philadelphia
Volunteers.

I am not related to this family, nor am I researching this family or any Springfields.

if you would like to view my tree its public or send me an email and i will send you an invite...my sarah jane williams had a daughter mary catherine...she was my great grandmother... i dont have a mother or father for sallie, the problem is Sarah is what the name is but they called her Sallie...i have a picture of her tombstone where she is buried in Murray County at the Mt. Zion Church...the Springfields own most of the plots there...I have a picture of her also...if you would like you can look at my tree... i have no siblings for her either...if you could share some things with me it would be great...i have Sarahs bday as Dec.19, 1859 and death date Dec 11th 1945...is this what you have for your dates?

I think your Sallie is a sister to my Mary Elizabeth Williams and it appears that they married brothers. Mary married Samuel Springfield and is my great grandmother. Mary is one of my brick walls. I found her mother but not her father. What do you have on that line? cindy in TX

the one i have has 12 children...lula mae, samuel melvin, ludice m, john walter,gaden,perry s,william r,butler b,mary,emma, t, and b springfield...Mary was my great great great grandmother i think, have to go back and count but she married a Best. sallie that I have married a James Bennett Springfield and she was a Williams before she married...does any of this sound like your family? let me know my email is lilgagal36@yahoo.com and you can send me your email and I will send you an invite to my tree so you can look at these things too...

We will be honoring the memory and accomplishments of Revolutionary War heroine “Daring Dicey” Langston and her husband Thomas Springfield. The cemetery is on private property owned by Curt & Bev Doherty at 213 Bridwell Way Travelers Rest, SC 29690.
(Directions to the family site are as follows: take Tigerville Rd. turn right onto Enoree Rd. from Tigerville Rd. then turn to the first right onto Bridwell Way follow Bridwell Way until you come to the Horse Ranch, turn into that driveway and it runs straight into the house.)

Oh, I just reread that. How embarrassing. Now we know how things get so mixed up when people take everything on these websites to be gospel.
Correction:Thomas Springfield born 1741 in Old Greenville County, SC and died 1768. He had 3 children: Aaron born January 1, 1761, Elizabeth born 1764 and Thomas born July 15, 1766. Does that follow what you have from those books?

The Springfield Book, Vol. 2 page 1002 has Hardy G. born 22 May 1845 in Greenville Dist., SC.; died 27 Aug 1895 in prob. Whitfield Co., GA.

I don't have much on the first Thomas Bennett other than he was born in 1741 in Old Greenville County, SC and died in 1768.
I have that he had 3 children: Thomas born July 15, 1766 gee he would be celebrating a big birthday soon, Aaron (January 1, l961 and Elizabeth born 1864. Do you have any more than that on them?
