I had my parents working for Edward A.Stains, when I was a small boy.
We use to live in 26 bagan Jermal, Penang , Malaysia.
Edward A Stains was in charge of the postal department , during the second world war, in British Malaya.
He was suffering from sickness, after being released from changi prison
after the war ..He died in 1955. , at the age of 75., in Penang , at 26 bagan jermal road.
His wife misuo araki a Japanese person , buried his body , which is now in the christain cemetry, at western road, in Penang. Malaysia.
My father was his personal butler or boy , in which they would addresss his jop.
Our family use to travel with Edward a stains, whenever or where ever he was posted,Ike taiping, Ipoh , malacca, Penang ..
He used to have assets, in tin mine, rubber estates n the property in Penang , where his last living residence was.
His wife misuo araki, sold all her assets , which she inherited from her husband and went back to nagaski in the mid sixties.,at the age of her late seventies.
I think she died after a few years , after returning to japan & getting reunited with her long lost brother & family.
Well , since then, the only memory I have is that is the remains of the late Edward A Stains, the black marble stone of the burial ground at the western road christain cemetry in penang.
It is written on the tomb stone at the burial place..
Edward A Stains
died in 1955
burial stone erected by his wife Misuo Araki.
That's about a member of the Stains/ Staines family, named
Edward A Stains whom I knew him , as when I was a very young boy of 4 years old.
The informant of my birth in my birth certificate is Edward A Stains...
Thanks
George

Oliver Stains

Hi,
I am the 2nd great-granddaughter of Oliver Stains b.10-27-1854 in Three Springs, Huntingdon Co, Pa and died 12-24-1934. He was married to Anna Mary Cook. I am looking for photos of this family and also information on two of the children. Henry Barton Stains b. 12-24-1892 d. 11-18-1961. And Helen Addine Stains b.2-1-1913 d.11-20-1944. She was married to a North but that is all the information I have on her. All the older family members have passed away and I am working from papers they wrote years and years ago. I would like to fill the gap on these two individuals and would especially like to see photos. Thank you for any help.

Sandy Dedmon
I am looking for information, on my great aunt, Lena Stains. Lena's sister, May Mahala (nee:Ballew) Bulick,(b. 14 Oct. 1874, Hale, Carroll, MO.) was my grandmother. May's parents were, Hiram Ballew and Christiana Ware. Lena's children were Herman and Charles. The family lived in Oklahoma, and then settled in Montrose, CO.. When I was a child visiting in Montrose, Aunt Lena, always had her grandson, Harry Stains, with her. I lost track of Aunt Lena after my grandmothers death in 1958. I now believe Lena went to live with family in or around Asheville, where I believe she died around 1969. Any help appriciated!.....Patti

My grandfather was Leroy Stains of Loogootee, IN. He was born of Jacob Roy Stains of Kenmore, NY, son (I believe) of George Stains of Greencastle, PA. Leroy married Clara Bates when he was 16, had a daughter Jacqueline and a son, my dad, Robert Roy Stains Sr.. He then took off, leaving Jacqueline to be raised by her mother and my dad by his grandparents, Elsie and Jacob. I am trying to find info. about Leroy. I know he died in Martin, IN in 1987. That's about it. I'm also trying to find Jacqueline, last known to be living in the Buffalo area in the 1950s. And finally, Clara Bates, my grandmother, about whom I know nothing. Any information about any of these folks would be gratefully received.
