I am related to the Starling in Georgia also. I go down the Levi Starling line down to John Norton Starling who was my Great Great Grandfather. His daughter Neta (Meta) on the census was my Great Grandmother. She died when she was 29 after giving birth to my Grandfather and his brother Leonard James Wetherington and A.D. Wetherington. She was married to James Monroe Wetherington. So far I have not been able to find anyone that can tell me more about the Starlings or about my Great Grandmother. For some reason my Grandparents never talked about their families and I have and am still having a hard time finding any information on them or anyone that knew of James Monroe Wetherington or Neta Wetherington. If you have any information, please contact me.

I have been researching the Abrams line. Phebe married John Abrams / Abraham. There is an island, which John bought, which is now part of the Portsmouth Navy Yard. After the sale of the island to the US Government he moved around. He is buried with Phebe in the Harmony Grove Cemetery in Portsmouth NH.

I have found a Nicholas Stallings (born 1620) from England.In Nansemond,Virginia 1654. Died(1663) in Henrico,Virginia.Hope this helps you, I could find no mother or father.

I am most likely the connection you are speaking about here.

I still do not have anything that tells me who "Thomas Day Starlings" parents were, however I am starting to think that he was perhaps either born a Stallings or maybe his father was. I will continue digging and post any new information that I get.

Here is an update.

My DNA puts me in the following Haplogroup
Hap-R1b1b2a1a - Fam Grp E

This group contains mostly STALLINGS.

My suspicion is that Thomas Day Starling was actually a STALLINGS or perhaps his father was.

Most of my DNA relatives appear to be descendants of
Nicholas Stallings, 1620-

I have still not foud a solid connection between Thomas Day Starling and Robert Starling.

I have seen many references that indicate that Thomas Day Starling was the son of a "Sea Captain" but have been unable to find a good reference.

It is possible that his fathers name was Stallings, Stirling, or Sterling.

I am a direct descendant of "Thomas Day Starling" b 1796. I have taken a DNA test and most of my connections appear to be STALLINGS. I cannot prove the link between my Thomas Starling and his suspected father (Robert Starling) so I am digging around in the STALLINGS line but cannot find any concrete evidence of Thomas Starling's father.

I am still trying to find the parents of Thomas D. Starling. I took a DNA Test and Sandra was correct. I fall within a group that seems to carry the STALLINGS surname. I will update this thread if I find anything conclusive.

I am looking for information on my ggg grandfather, H.F. "Hubert" Starling. He was born in 1809 in Maryland. Both of his parents were born in Maryland. He married Deborah (last name unknown) before 1832 probably in North Carolina. She was born in North Carolina as were both of her parents. They had 6 children. Rachel b 1832 in North Carolina. She married Henry Rush. Judith "Judy" born in 1834 in North Carolina. She married (name unknown Mason)Martha b 1836 North Carolina. She married (name unknown Rush). Thomas b 1838 North Carolina. Elizabeth "Betty" b 1850 in Mississippi. She may have married a Murphy. Mary "Mollie" b 1852 in Mississippi and died 1941 in Miss. She married C.C. Simmons. Mollie is my gg grandmother.
Hubert may have remarried in 1879 to a Charlotte Crosby. He is shown on the 1880 census as living with a family named Crosby. I would love to know more about his family and where they came from in MD. Also would love to know when he died and Deborah's maiden name and any other information anyone might have on them.

My great grandfather x4, was James Starling and he appears to have moved to Whittlesford sometime around 1812? and married my great grandmother x4 in 1813 (Ann Kefford), and then this lead to a long line of Starlings in Whittlesford.

I would like to find out where James came from as on the 1841 census, it states he was born in foreign parts or Ireland, Wales or Scotland, if anyone knows any information I would be so grateful

My grandmother Ellen Starling was born in Romford, my great Grandfather came from Whittlesford in Cambridgeshire, then he married my great grandmother in 1908 and moved to the essex area. His name was Joseph Sidney Starling.
My grandmother had two brothers Fred, Sidney and a sister Maud.

I do not believe you are looking for the Alfred Starling in N.C. He was my father's brother. I believe their mother was Elizabeth, known as Bessie. My father's name was Robert J. Starling and that doesn't match with the info you have. Sorry, but good luck hunting!

Hello, I have Abraham Starling's father as Robert Ayden Starling, born abt 1760 Northampton Co NC.Died April 1841 Johnson Co NC. Wife was listed as Nancy Unknown. There were three children listed:
1. Abraham Starling Born 1818 Ashe Co NC
2. Robert Starling born abt 1804 Robertson Co NC
3. David Starling born abt 1805 Robertson Co NC.

I also have Robert Starling's father as Abraham Starling, Sr. born abt 1725 Bertie Co NC, married to Elizabeth Smelley.

I have traced back to Jonathan Starling(b 1827 - 1912), who married Elizabeth Starling and Margret Musselwhite. Their children are Jasper Newton(b 1861-1939) which I am related), Gaston, Jonathan, Lizzie, Cornilia and Mary. from other sources I think maybe his father was John Starling(spelled Sturling)(b abt 1790) who married Sarah (Sally?) Starlings of Essex - Romford/Leigh on Sea

I am searching for details of my paternal grandmother's family who I believe came from the Romford/Leigh-on-Sea area of Essex. My Grandmother was BEATRICE Starling and was born in 1907. She had two brothers (younger I believe), LESLIE who married GLADYS RAWES, and RONALD, who married a lady named OLIVE but I have yet to find a surname for her. BEATRICE married HAROLD RICHARDS.

I have so far been unable to find any information about Beatrice's Parents and wondered if anyone can help! I have to stress I am very new at this (literally a few weeks in) and I am on a steep learning curve so do feel free to state what may be 'the obvious' to you as it probably won't to me!

I hope someone can help!

Looking for info on the Starling family. I think my grandfather was a twin and born in the Little Rock area. His name was Grady Dell Starling and his twin was Grace. May have been born out of wedlock. Grace ended up in San Jose Ca. And Grady ended up in Riverside, Ca. Their birthdate was Feb 2 1907. I was told family lived in Idabelle and Broken Bow Oklahoma. Savannah is my Great Grandmother. I found her and my Great Grandfather in the 1900, 1910 and 1920 Federal Census's. I guess all the 1890 Census records were destroyed by fire. I can not find any record of them living in Ashburn, Georgia. I see that John Walter was born in Florida, but Pearl, Wilford, Barney (My Grandfather) and Tom were born in Ashburn as posted on the Starling Web site. Since I can't find any record of their births what information does anyone have about the birth of the children?

Need any information on Elvey (Elva) Starling, parents info and so on. Elvey Starling b 12 Feb 1894 FL d. 10 May 1978 in St Luice Co., Florida. She married Robert Jackson Tyner (my mothers family) on 21 Aug 1915.

I have from my great grandmothers notes and pictures that of many Starling family members, but I am not having any luck with obtaining any information on the Starling people.

I have a picture with a Tom & Mary Starling, Haughty, Dollie and Elva Starling. Also in the pic is a Tom Starling, Chess (Chester) Starling.

Any help would be appreciated.
