Yes! I have a connection, from George STEEPLE & Emily CLOSE(1st wife). I am related through their eldest son George Albert STEEPLE (1884-1931) my ggrandfather who married Muriel Maver BRUCE in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Children from 1st Marriage: George Albert, Willam A, Zoe, Annie, Zaidee, Charles Robert & Alfred who died in infantcy in 1892 the same year as his mother Emily STEEPLE (nee Close).

I can go back to William STEEPLE and Rebecca THOMPSON married 1783 in Holy Trinity, Hull, Yorkshire, England.

I'm traveling to the UK shortly hoping to discover more and see some sites. Last summer I traveled to Winnepeg to visit grave sites with my Aunt and Mom.

Several of George's children left England for Canada along with his 2nd Wife Emily LITTLEWOOD, children George Albert, Zoe, Annie, Charles Robert(1st marriage), Margueret Daisy Summers, Teresa Elizabeth, Georgina Lawrence, Arthur Bollan (2nd marriage). Daughters Teresa Elizabeth, & Georgina Lawrence went on to live in L.A. California, USA

I read with great interest your information on Mary Steeple. I'm researching my wife's line, and I'm trying to find information on the lineage of Jennie Dove, born 1866 in Potsdam, NY, married Charles E. Snell. We know her parents were George Dove, born in NY around 1820 and Jan Thompson, born in VA around 1829. From the 1850 census I'm guessing that George's father was Charles Dove (they lived side by side). Charles was married to Charlotte, but she seems too young to be George's mother. Do you have any more information?

Mary Steeple born about 1800. Family came from Derbyshire. Found a "Dove Family History" at Potsdam NY Museum that gives quite a bit of family info - Mary Steeple married Charles Dove about 1819 in New York. I have just received films at the local Family History Center and have verified her father George Steeple was baptised in 1776 in Bonsall Derbyshire parish. This corresponds with info in the history. Unfortunately, George did not get married or baptize his children in Bonall parish. Still searching for info on George's parents William and Mary Steeple. According to the parish registers George was the youngest child - William and Mary started baptizing children in 1759 in Bonsall.

Seeking info on Mary STEEPLE, born in England (date and place unknown), married to Charles DOVE in Potsdam, St. Lawrence Co., NY probably between 1815 and 1820. Died in Potsdam before 1850.

My Great Grandfather was George Steeple he lived in the area of Hull, Yorkshire. He was married to Emily Littlewood (2nd marriage) his children were Theresa, Daisy, Georgia,(My Grandmother) Albert.and Violet.(She died in England) He also had older children from his first marriage. Nan, Zoe, Charles(Went to Canada) Does anyone have a connection?
