According to his birth register he was born Thomas John Stephens in 1904, West Melbourne Victoria Australia. It Also mentions that his birth mother was an AMELIA STEPHENS, born in Goldsborough (Dunolly) Victoria in about 1883. If anyone has some information i would love to hear from you.

Hello I am trying to research the Stephens Family from the Fayetteville Area of GA. My name is Kirsten Stephens, My ex-husbands name is Charles Kevin Stephens born in Atlanta GA, His father is Charles Perry Stephens and mother is Iris C. Aycock. From what little I can remember His Grandfathers name was Charles Stephens, was a police officer possible chief of police in Riverdale Ga. DOB's and DOD's I am not sure of. I know that there were 3 children, Charles Perry was the oldest, then Ellen (Coleman) and then Thomas I believe (I may be wrong). But I am researching my family's history and my children want to know about their fathers family history. Hi. My grandfather, Gerald Edward Stephens, came from Cape Town and was definitely part of this family (his father was Thomas William). Born in 1902. Married Jessie MacMorran and lived in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Had two sons, Roy George and Dennis Edward. Roy had three children, Sally, Gavin and Desmond and Dennis had four sons, Graeme (me), Tony, Roy and Mark. Most of the family still live in Zim, only Sally (now in Perth) and myself (now in South Africa) have left.

Laura Stephens possibly George's sister, married Robert Dartis Smith who was a brother to George's first wife, Florence. On the death certificate of Laura Stephens SMITH her father is listed as James Stephens, her mother is listed as Harriet.

Do you know if Emmett A. Stephens, the youngest son of George and Viola is living or deceased? There is a possibility that he is living still.

I descend from Sisson Stephens and William Hem(m)ing also. I would love to share information with you. My father is the son of the late Richard E. Heming and Grandson of Charles Ambros Heming, Greatgrandson of Richard G. W. Hemming. I never understood why the (m) was dropped. Also, I did not get the opportunity to live among my Heming relatives my father was military and we moved far away, so I have second hand stories, few copied pictures, etc. I would love to share my families lineage with my children so they could also pass it on to theirs one day. I am the issue of a Samuel Clifton STEPHENS,
b. 1884 Gibson Co. TN
and Mary Louise TAYLOR, b. 1904 Gibson Co. TN.
She was married to a James Arthur HUNT at the
time of MY conception,
hence I am legally of the HUNT surname, but with
STEPHENS Y-DNA.

James Arthur HUNT was the 1st cousin of
Samuel Clifton STEPHENS
-- a son of James Granville HUNT, a brother to Samuel Clifton's mother Bettie.
My STEPHENS line was confirmed by FTDNA Family Finder comparison between
myself and a Cousin Jo STEPHENS. There is no doubt.

Samuel Clifton STEPHENS was the 2nd son of
Samuel Columbus STEPHENS, b. Dec 1852 probably
in Henderson Co. TN, and Elizabeth "Bettie" HUNT,
b. 1856 Gibson Co. TN.

Note - his older brother was named HENRY BOYD STEPHENS, perhaps with
significant family names. And it is possible his father's name COLUMBUS might
come from Columbus Co. NC.

Samuel Columbus STEPHENS was the 3rd son
and 4th child of an Aaron B. STEPHENS,
b.c. 1824 Somewhere in TN, and an Emeline LEE,
b.c. 1823 Somewhere in NC. Census records say
both their parents were b. NC.
This couple married 28 Sep 1842 in Marshall Co. TN.
Their four children are --

Dau. Malinda STEPHENS b.c. 1843 Prob. Marshall Co. TN,
James (A or N) STEPHENS, b.c. 1844 Prob. Marshall Co. TN,
Jeremiah STEPHENS, b.c. 1846 Prob. Marshall Co. TN, and,
-- after locating onto a 50 acre land grant in Henderson Co. TN in 1850,
Samuel Columbus STEPHENS, b. Dec 1852 Henderson Co. TN.

I believe the above Aaron B. STEPHENS was likely the
son of a James STEPHENS, died c. 1846 in Marshall Co. TN, and whose estate was administered by a

STEPHENS buyers at this sale were Frances STEPHENS, likely the Widow, a James STEPHENS, a Jeremiah STEPHENS,
and an A. B. STEPHENS.

Other buyers included Aaron BOYD (for whom I believe
Aaron B. STEPHENS was named), Tilman HINSON, John WALL, Leonard BULLOCK, Thomas JONES,
John McCALL, John REYNOLDS, John BRYANT, J. W. WILSON,
John RYLIE, James MOODY, Reuben REYNOLDS, Grayson DOWDY, Ramsey DOWDY, Wm. TUCKER, Gavin DOWDY, others whose
names I was not able to decode
from the vague microfilm copy.

Albert/Alvin Stephens b. abt 1892, Cople, VA (Westmoreland County)

Albert (may have also been known as Alvin) Stephens is my Grandmother's (Lillian Stephens) older brother. Lillian was adopted by the Hale family about 1900. Their parents were Robert H. Stephens and Madora (Dora) Middleton-Stephens. I have no record of Dora after the year 1900 and seeking Alberts decentants as perhaps they have some information.

Major William H. Stephens in Brady, TX 1944

William is pictured in the 44-A class yearbook of Curtis Field, in Brady, Texas. He is the commanding officer. I'm not kin but thought this might help someone researching the family.

Hello! Glad to finally meet a cousin through our Stephens line.

James Stephens and Marie de Jesus Gifford were in Tepic long before 1864 (which is the year the daughter I am descended from, Catalina, was born). In fact, baptismal records show him there at least back to 1850. Most of the Stephens descendants eventually came back to the US, however. Jesus's father was Francis Gifford, and it is believed that he was British, rather than French.

Most of the Stephens descendants appear to have dropped the Spanish surname style, yours is the first I have seen with it hyphenated.

At the moment, I am paying for research on Stephens so you will of course benefit from this.

I am a decendant of James W. Stephens and Josephine (Jesusita) Gifford.

James and Jesusita came to Tepic Nayarit Mexico in 1864 to take charge of a textile mill in Buena Vista, he and Jesusita (Josephine)Gifford had about 12 offsprings there, and later, each one had a position in that textile mill, he was very much liked there, and built housing for the workers and a masonic temple in Buena Vista.

I only know that he died in 1892 and none of his sons took charge of the mill.

My mother Dolores Stephens Stephens (in Mexico we keep both the father and mother's surname, hence Stephens Stephens)was one of James' grandaughters, so, James and Jesusita were my Great grandparents. My mother said that Jesusita was french ancestry.

There is a book in Mexico that talks about the Mill and James Stephens (Santiago Stephens) is mentioned, but they say he was from New York.

We still have a lot of distant relatives in Buena Vista with the Stephens name.

I also knew my aunt Guillermina (Mina) Gonzalez and others, but they have died since.

I hope this will help you in your search.

PS; I sure would like a copy of that letter of acceptance and photos if possible since I am trying to put together a geneological tree.
