      <title>Margaret "Peg" Ston obit from NY 2001</title>

      <description>Peru — Margaret "Peg" Ston, 81, of the Barney Downs Road in Peru, died Monday, April 30, 2001, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;She was born in Potsdam on May 8, 1919, the daughter of Louis D. and Margaret (Clark) Hugley.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Mrs. Ston graduated from Potsdam High School in 1936 and received her bachelors degree from Potsdam State Teachers College.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;She then taught in a rural school near Potsdam. From 1941 until 1946, she taught in Salem Central School in Salem, N.Y.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;She married Albert W. "Bill" Ston on Jan. 25, 1944, in the rectory of Holy Cross Church in Salem. In 1949 Peg and Bill moved to Peru, where she was active in St. Augustine's Church.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;She was a member of the Adirondack Doll Club, served on the Peru Library Board, was a 4-H Club leader, a member of the Friends of the Library and a member of the Lipitt Morgan Horse Club.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Peg was also noted as the baker of delicious coffee breads, especially at Christmas.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Along with her husband of 57 years, she also leaves one daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Gary Liberty of Peru; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Susan Ston of Peru and a son, David E. Ston of Chatham, Ill.; and six grandchildren, Peggy Liberty, Dorothy Liberty Eckler, Sarah and Billy Ston and Jeremiah and Jonathan Ston.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 3, 2001, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 4, 2001, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Augustine's Church in Peru, with Rev. William Reamer, chaplain at the CVPH Medical Center, celebrating.
