Hi, Cathy!
I have just found the most amazing thing on the Genline records.
Since Maja Lisa was not a direct ancestor of mine, I just entered the birth information I got from Ancestry.com. At least that's how I think I got Maja Lisa's dates. But the birth date I had was May 5, 1824 in Frödinge in Kalmar. But then you gave a birth date of 3 May 1829, no location. So, I hopped onto Genline and looked up both dates.

What I found absolutely has astonished me!!!

29.20.17900 Kalmar Frödinge Cl:3 Births 1808-1843 109/0.....
a birth record for a Maja Lisa from Solhult (village), b. 5 May, döpt (baptised) 7 May. Father, Johan Larsson, Mother Maja Lena Larsdotter, both from Solhult. I have not yet compared the names of the witnesses.
(Same numbers, except 145/0)........
a birth record for Maja Lisa from Solhult, b. 5 May and baptised also on 5 May. Father, Johan Larsson, Mother, Maja Lena Larsdotter, both from Solhult. Names of witnesses seem to be different.
The handwriting was not too bad, but I am now wondering which one is which, and which one is whose!!
I remain, a confused maybe-cousin X 3 (or 4),
Anne

Hello! I just found your message, but it was not about Emma Augusta Strandberg, but another ancestor.
Maja Lena Larsdotter, born in 1797, was my great-great-grandmother. Of course, there were so many people with similar names, we could be not related. Maja Lena (my g-g-grandmother) was born in Locknevi, Kalmar, and later married Johan Larsson. They had 6 children, to my knowledge, my great-grandmother was the youngest. From whom are you descended??

I don't believe your Oscar Strandberg is related to us. My grandfather came from Sweden-Gustave Strandberg born Nov. 13, 1875. He married Gertrude Fugleberg also born in Sweden in 1876.They raised 5 children Gustave Jr. Gertrude Jr. Viola, Mable, and Hugo D. Strandberg.Their children were all born in Conn. Some time in the late 1930's Gertrude Sr. moved to New Jersery where her daughters lived. She died in Essex, New Jersey.
Now I had been told that Gustave Sr. came to this country with his brother, I have no idea what the brothers name was or where he located. When Gustave was drafted for WWI he listed his nearest realative has Charles Strandberg. They all leaved in New Haven Conn, according to the Census Records. Gustave and his wife Gertrude had been listed in the Conn. 1900 census, their name was spelled STROMBERG.Hope some of this info. will help, Jeannette Schmidt

At some point Agnes sent a mass card to Co Down signed By Msgr William M Casey. I think she may have resided in Brooklyn ,Kings or Queens.
Hi.

Thanks very much for your reply. Emma Augusta was my grandfather´s grandfather´s oldest sister. She had seven siblings, whence Lovisa Amanda and Alma Mathilda emigrated. I think all their brothers stayed in Sweden. Their father Anders was a skipper in Hammar, which is located close to Askersund at Lake Vätter. Do you know why these sisters emigrated? Couldn´t you give me your e-mail address?
Hello, Johan!

It was so interesting to receive your query about Emma Augusta Strandberg. My grandmother, Alma Mathilda Strandberg (Green) had a sister with that name. Alma emigrated much later, in the middle 1880's I think, and she and her husband lived in Chicago, where my father was born. That is about all I can tell you about Emma Augusta, but I will use Genline to do further research, especially in September, when I go go Salt Lake City.

Hi Michelle! This is your cousin Kevin. Any luck finding info on Grandpa Strandberg? You are correct that Grandma Strandberg (Perron) was from Canada. My mom said that the Grand Rapids Public Library has info on him in some kind of public record books. Not sure if it was from when he moved here or not. Grandma Perron was born/lived in Carr Settlement ( I think it is by Walahala, Baldwin area) If I think of any more, I'll send you an email. Send me your personal email ok? Hope all is well with you and the family! Bye Hon! Kevin

Strandberg, Oscar

I am seeking information on Oscar Strandberg. I wish I could give dates when he was born but I am unable too, I can say that he was possibly born in Stockholm, Sweden. When he immigrated from Sweden to the USA or Canada he changed his last name from Sackrison (Spelling Unknown) to Strandberg. Oscar died possibly around 2/10/1969 In the Rochester State Hospital in New York, it was believed he had gone blind and committed himself there. No one in my family knows if he was in the military or if he had any siblings, and the exact spelling of his first name is believed to be Oscar but could have been Oskar or another varient. He married Margaret Perron who my family says was French Canadian or her family was of French Canadian decent and it is believed they lived a short while in Ludington, Michigan where my grandfather and most of his brothers and sisters where born.

Any information or scources I might be able to find information from would be much appreciated.

Michelle Moore

John? Strandberg

I am looking for any information about John Strandberg (my mother recalls his name being John but is not for sure). John was my Great Grandfather. We are not sure where he came from just that he was married to Ingeborg Marie Brynteson and they lived in Glendorado, Minnesota. My mom recalls stories from my grandma about a marriage separation of some sort which made the 2 children (Sitona and LeRoy) unable to see their father. They had to sneak down to the coal mines so they could see him as he was leaving work. My grandma, Sitona Evangeline Strandberg (later Kubera), was born on February 15, 1920 and died August 17, 1986.
Any information that anyone may have regarding the whereabouts of "John" Strandberg would be much appreciated! I am willing to share any infomation I may have also.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, Jeni Martinson

Dear Bjorn: My Dad has just arrived and is interested in searching his family tree. His grandfather was named August (Gus) and had a brother named Richard. They may have come from somewhere around Stockholm.... the emigration would have been sometime around the 1870's or 1880's. He has some materials in his boxes which we must unpack and I don't know if we are looking at the same branch of the tree but please e-mail me with more information and we can compare notes!
Ray, thanks so much for replying. I appreciate your help. You can e mail me at CESO1531@aol.com or give Uncle my snail mail
3310 Regatta Place, Oxnard, CA. 93035-1612. Tell him that I am Ruth's daughter Joanie and remember him and Charlene. Thanks and what luck in finding you. My mom was an Akers and Charlene was a Winn. They were half sisters, same mom, Bessie Nicholas whom I am researching.
JoAnn
