I am doing my family tree. Antonio Sustaita was my great uncle and he is buried in Hornsby Bend Cemetery. I have a picture of him. E-mail me and please share any information you have with so I can add to my tree. Other members in the Sustaita family are Francisca Salinas Sustaita, Decedrio, Juana Martinez Sustaita, Ernesto, Gregorio, the list goes on as I am sure you are well aware.

Hi! My dad is Gene Sustaita and he has family in Linares. They are Bravo's but I just recently found out that their surname was also Sustaita. I recently met relatives from my fathers side of the family that are Sustaita's from Monterey Mexico. My Tio is Gustavo Sustaita.

Sustaeta is the way that the family in the Basque Country spell it. It was changed several times. If you want to go all the way back to the time in which the Basque adopted a written language then Sustaeta is your best bet.

The last name sustaita comes from the region of basque country called Gupuzkoa. The capital is San Sebastian.

They spell the last name Sustaeta.

The Sustaeta's have lived on coast for a long time. They are fishermen. The basque have a pre-indo-european language called Euskara.

The Sustaeta's that I met lived in several places Ondarroa, Berriatua, Getaria, Mutriku, and Lekeitio. If you go, then they will direct toward Mutriku and Getaria. The Sustaeta people have been there forever. You cannot go further back.

The basque are so advanced in their recording of baptisms and marriages. You can go back to the end of their records
which could be as far back as the 1500's. They put all the
info online too.

Recommendation:
The Camino De Santigo's Norte route goes through basque
country. It goes through all the places I mentioned. It is

My grandfather was gregorio sustaita from mexico. where from i don't know. he came to texas and married francisca salinas. they had children called mary hilda, antonio, viviano, alejandra. most i believe are buried at hornsby mexican cemetery. do you know any of my family. i also think we have a cousin who lives in austin called mike sustaita.

i have a great uncle who was called Antonio Sustaita. I think his father was called Gregorio Sustaita who married Francisca Salinas. I know there is a Mike Sustaita in Austin Texas who I think is our cousin not to sure where he fits in.

My grandfather left my grandmother and remarried in 1945 to Angela Sustaita de Hernandez. I found proof that they lived in Mexico City in 1950. I know she has your name, which is kind of weird, but do you know if you have any family in Mexico City?

Hello my grandmother was called Alejandra Sustaita. She married Mateo Sanchez. My great grandfather was called Gegorio(Gregorio) Sustaita who married Francisca Salinas. I believe they are buried at Hornsby Mexican Cemetary in Travis county just outside Austin Texas. If you have any info will you please passit on to me. I too am trying to find my family tree. Have some information for you. FYI: His brother was my father, who's name was Heremerejildo. Name of Heremerejildo was changed to Herman when he was naturalized a US citizen after he entered the US Army during World War II, along with his brother, your father (Uncle Richard). Naturalization shows last name of "Sustayta". Prior to entering the service, your father, his brothers (my dad & Andrew the other brother) and their sisters (Agustina, Celia,Helen & Librada) lived in Somerville, Texas @ the time with their mom and dad, your great grandparents Maria and Margarito Sustaita, a couple of years following my dad's birth in 1918. Maria & Margarito moved from Somerville to Bryan during the war. Both died in Bryan in the late 1980's and are buried side by side in Bryan city cemetary.

My mother is the dauther of Adolpf Sustaita, my grandmother was his second wife that is if there where ever married. My mothers name is petra Sustaita she is about 74 years old
she wants to know if any of her brothers or sisters are still alive. She lives in Salinas Ca, and haves lived in California since 1956. My name is Maria J. "Mary Jane" Sustaita and have one son, Joseph R. Sustaita.

My father, Frank R. Sustaita, Sr., lives in Donna, TX and my mother, Maria Angelita Rios Sustaita, lives in Donna, TX. I have one sister, Rosalva "Rosie" and two brothers, Frank Jr. and Jose A. "Joe".

My grandparents were Expedito and Maria Sustaita who lived in Donna and are deceased. My father had a brother, Guadalupe, and a sister, Emma, that lived in Bixby, OK and are deceased.
