Hello,
I’m looking for more information on the surname “Sylvan”.
My great grandfather, Max Sylvan was from Romania (Hungary) and was believed to be born around 1897. He married Jennie Hammersmith, who was born in Poland around 1903. Together they moved to New York, USA and had my grandfather Harry Sylvan See in 1928.

Any information on the Sylvan surname or this family would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
David Valencia
sylvan name aka suvan?

Two days ago I found my mother's birth certificate and her father's name was entered as Sylvan. My mother and her siblings and my grandmother always went by Suvan. I never met my grandfather, whose name was Anton Rudolph Sylvan. He was born in Sweden c1893. He lived much of his life in Spokane, Washington and was a bricklayer. Have you learned anything about the Sylvan family?
