Hello Tony,

I am doing my Family Tree, and are distantly related to the Evesham Capaldi's (by marriage and 2nd blood cousin ancestors).
Virginia Capaldi married Carmino Di Tommaso, and his Father was Domenicantonio Di Tommaso. Domenico's 2nd wife was Maria Tartaglia, and i think her 1st Husband was Filippo (phillip) Tartaglia.
I believe Filippo was born in Picinisco, Frosinone, Italy in 1862.

The information i would like to know is his Wife Maria who he came to UK with?
Do you have any information on her, like surname or parents/siblings, etc?

Any information will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Jamie
Not sure if LDS(Mormons) have filmed the records, if they have you can probably get your family information that way on michrofiche - to be viewd at their Family History Center.. Maybe someone on this board might know. I know that they are in the process of filming my ancestors Village in the Province of Salerno. Not sure what province your village is, but you can go to http://google.com and put in your village name and see what pops it. It may even have a web page with some history on it.

My grandparents , Nicholas and Angelina came from the Naples area in the early 1900's and settled in the lower East side of NYC. They moved to the Fordham section of the Bronx a few years later, where they resided for many years. They had Three sons, Frank, Mario and Marcel. All three sons eventually resided on Long Island as, Nicholas and Angelina joined them in the early 1950's. Nicholas had a number of brothers, including Joseph and Marcel. Would like to know if there are relatives who are related to Nicholas.

Dianne, one of these days we will find that we are related.

If I could make a suggestion. Instead of me sending you a whole list of Merlone's for you to compare against your list of Merlone's, maybe we could do this via phone while we stare at our assorted collections and information. I have recently finished working with a group in Italy who as given me some good details, maybe combing that with what you have will show us the connection.

Anyway, send me a message to my hotmail account. AlanDouville@Hotmail.Com if you want to try this, and I will give you a ring. Weekends and nights are my only hope, as work, wife and kids chew up the rest!

Alan

Those are the names of my great-grandparents. They had four children (in Italy): Vincenzo (Jim, d. 2002) Tonio (Anthony in America, d. 1993), Laura (d. 1975 or 78?), Rita (still living) and one in America: Ellen (still living). I am the granddaughter of Anthony. I am unsure of the exact year that Nicolas came to America, but Michelina and the four children came in 1919 through Ellis Island, settled in Buffalo and ended up in Philadelphia. I believe my mother told me they came from a little town called Santa Cruce. If anyone out there has a connection, let me know--I'd love to hear from you!

My branch of the family came from Campobosso, Italy. But, I did see that your family came through Ellis Island.
You can go to www.ellisislandrecords.com and search for information there. You can search by passenger name. It will tell you the date they arrived in this country, marital status, age at arrival, ship, and port of departure. I found my great grandparents this way. Hope this helps in your search!

Hello. I would like any information you have on the Tartaglias that came to New Mexico from Naples (or Northern Italy, I'm not sure) in 1896. I believe that my great-grandfather was Carmen or Carmine. There were several children--Leonard, Paul, Matthew, Louie, Concetta, Lena, Stella, and Jenny. I would like to know more about where in Italy they were from, and if there are still relatives in Italy. Paul was my grandfather.
Thank you
