His daughter Henrietta Marie (born 1783) married Edward Mathew, sometime before 1822.

Any news would be appreciated
Maria TASKER - Melbourne - TASCONIA Ointment - 1898 onwards??

My Ancestor Maria TASKER (formerly BOARDMAN and nee MULLIN) trade marked a medicinal ointment called 'TASCONIA' in 1898. I am seeking more information about this product and its evolution through the years. Does it still exist in some form? If not what happened to it? Were the rights sold to another operator? Maria lived in Melbourne during the 1890s then moved to WA where she died in 1925. I know very little about her life though. Maybe someone can help me? I would love to know more details and obtain photos of her too. Thanks in anticipation. Cheers,
Rob

John Walter TASKER in Collingwood , Victoria, Australia 1888-1896???

Seeking any information about a John Walter TASKER who had married my ancestor Maria BOARDMAN (nee MULLIN) in Collingwood, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in 1888. They were then living at 229 Simpsons Road, now called Victoria Parade. John died in 1896 at 139 LaTrobe Street, Melbourne. Maria appears to have left John but I am not certain about this. I know nothing of their life together so perhaps someone knows more about both of them. Maria seems to have moved to WA about 1893. John is buried in a public grave at Melbourne General Cemetery and there is no obituary or even death notice for him. I have no other information about John and not much about Maria either. I would love to learn more and find photos of these people if possible. Thanks for any leads. Cheers, Rob

Mrs MARIA TASKER (formerly BOARDMAN) 37 Victoria St, Hotham, Victoria, Australia - 1876

Seeking please any information about my ancestor as above and the stated address. Maria MULLIN (born 1841 in Belfast) had been married to Henry BOARDMAN, and lived at Smythes Creek, Victoria (near Ballarat). She was widowed in 1866. Some time after that Maria came to Melbourne although I am uncertain exactly when. On 7/8/1876 a Mrs. Boardman advertised 'Room to Let' in 'The Argus' newspaper. Can anyone confirm whether this is indeed Mrs. Maria Boardman? I know this may be difficult to elucidate but perhaps someone knows the family?? I believe this address was opposite the Old Cemetery (North Melbourne) where the Victoria Market is today. However I believe the street numbers have changed, because the numbers are in the 300 series now in that locality! Can anyone please identify which number applies today? Was 37 Victoria Street a business address? Maria later married a John Walter TASKER in Collingwood in 1888. Thanks for any leads. Cheers, Rob

Hi Rose. We must be related!! my mum thinks so, she is nearly 80 but is still sharp. Told her about you and she is very intrested as she loved her mum dearly. Caroline Tasker is buried in Hucknall (Caroline hollis, married twice).Went to vist recently as she would have been 100 on the 22nd of November last year.Only 4 when she died but remember how lovely she was. Florence Bramley died young i think? and my Gran was named after her Gran Caroline Wade (Bramley). they lived at 44 Watnall road on the 1891 census. Caroline Wade was born in Gibraltor(my spelling is really dire)!!. You probably know all this anyway....so excited to contact you, dont really know anyone from mums side. I used to live in Hucknall, felt a strong pull to be there, then found out about my family connections and it all made sense. would love to hear from you or meet up some time? Debs x

The one christened 26 Feb 1738 may be Allison's father, in which case his father was William. All this information, can be accessed freely on the FamilySearch website by a computer connected to the internet. They are under IGI Individual Records (batch P007101). I cannot find any marriages.

Hope this helps.
David

Whilst there is no direct connection, eventually there may be.
Hi Tigersgirl62,

Further possible information. FamilySearch has a basic record of a Robert Tasker born about 1751 and married a Betty????? about 1776 showing the location as Grindleton, which again is not far from Bolton in (by) Bowland. Respectfully suggest you research the parish records. Grindleton was a chapelry in the parish of Great Mitton, according to GENUKI.

Hope this helps.

David

Hi Tigersgirl62,

Allison Tasker is not connected with me, so not in my database. However, out of interest, I found the following, which may be of interest to you, if not already researched.

In addition to her christening record, FamilySearch (IGI) has a marriage record for the 18 Aug 1803 at Gisburn, between an ALISON (1 L) TASKER and a WM. SMETHHURST. Gisburn is only a few miles from Bolton in Bowland, so this is probably your candidate and worth investigating, if not already done.

Both parties may have survived until the 1841 census, but I have not researched further, as you may have done so already.

Hope this helps.

David

Hi Yelgde,

Further info. The marriage to Jonathan Tasker was probably Elizabeth's second. The 1851 census has the following;

at French Gate, Doncaster, Elizabeth Aspinall, head, widow, 45, born Sheffield; Thomas Aspinall, son, unmarried, 14, errand boy, born Doncaster; Maria Aspinall, daughter, 8, born Doncaster. Also 3 lodgers. (HO107 piece 2347 folio 33 page 14). There was another Elizabeth Aspinall in the Doncaster census for 1851, but she is eliminated, as she was still alive in 1861 and living with her husband.

The 1841 census has Elizabeth Aspinall living with her husband Jas. (James) at Priest's Yard, French Gate, Doncaster (HO107 piece 1340 folio 1/15 pages 24/25. The full details;

Jas. Aspinall, aged 30, Shoe M. J. born Yorkshire
Elizth. Aspinall, 30, born Yorkshire
Charlotte Aspinall, 13, born Yorkshire
John Aspinall, 11, born Yorkshire
Chas. Aspinall 9, born Yorkshire
Wm. Aspinall 6, born Yorkshire
Thos. Aspinall 4, born Yorkshire
Ann Aspinall, 2 born Yorkshire
Mary Aspinall, 10 months, born Yorkshire

NOTE 1841 CENSUS Over 15, age taken to nearest 5 years under

Family Search (IGI) has a few records of a marriage between James Aspinall & Elizabeth Greaves at Doncaster in Oct 1827. Depending which record is correct, the dates are the 1st, 10th, 21st or 22nd! According to the 1841 census the eldest child Charlotte (on the census) was born c. 1828, so this is probably your candidate.

Trust this helps!
David Tasker (no relation as far as I know!)

Thank you for replying. I have gotten my mothers birth certificate. It lists a JOHN ROWLAND BENNETT as her father. Lillian was also on there listed as LILLIAN VALERIE BENNETT nee TASKER. She is regstered as being born in BRISTOL. I can not find much on her father, just a couple of census listings but am not sure that it is the correct person. I know he was in the ROYAL FLYING CORPS as a CONSTRUCTIONAL ENGINEER but have not been able to find any documents to verify that either. I am quite new at this so I don't know very many sites to look up information other than ancestry.ca and freebmd. I also live in Canada and all the relatives that might know about these things , have passed away. Any info you can dig up would be very much appreciated. Thanks again for your help.

Marla

Hi,
I have looked for a marriage for Lillian but could not find one. As Marion was born in 1918 it could be possible that
her father was killed in the first world war before he could marry Lillian. It could also be possible that he never knew about Marion.

Hi eddie71
Thank you for answering my request. I am not sure what Marions' birth name was. She rarely ever talked about her family and she died when I was only 13. I was told by my aunt that she was born Jan.20,1918 in Bristol,England. I am not sure if her mom was actually married when she was born.Amd seeing that her mom was from the Devizes area and seeing how far Bristol is from there, I am wondering if Lillian was sent away to have the baby. Just a thought but don't know where to find that kind of info. If you find anything else out, I would be grateful for you to send it to me.
Thanks again...Marla
