My great grandfathers name was paul tauzin he married beulah leblen (lebleu) but after him I cannot find anything else no one in my family knows who his parents where I know the wereoriginally from bordaeux, france he had a relative who was a famous nun sister mary alouisis other than that the trail ends if anyone has info please help

I'm looking for someone my grandmother identified as "Joe" Tauzin, her father. He was either married to or had a child with Emma (or Irma) Champaux. Do you have anyone like that in your line? My grandmother was born in New Iberia in 1908.

I have a lot of information on Tauzins that my husband researched, but I can't positively identify anyone as my great grandfather "Joe." I've also heard the name Bozzio associated with him.

I have joseph,son of Girard to my self. I am very interested in a good tree of Jean Baptiste or William. How did you come to know about William his brother. I have not seen any thing on him. rumors of a Pierre, or rumors that Jean Baptiste and Joseph were brothers but the dates dont work out. your information would fit. I was hoping Jean Baptiste was a cousin or relative or perhaps Jean Baptiste I and Girard were brothers.

I am very interested in what you have, I have my tree back to Joseph, one of the rummored 3 brothers but Joseph is the son of Gerard Tauzin from the Bordeaux region. My records show that Joseph was on only child( at least he was at the time of the records. it could have been he was the oldest. there was Jean Baptiste I,II, and III. I have not seen anything on a Pierre. I am aware of a Bernard that was a sugar plantation farmer in Hati, had to leave during the slave rebellion. Your information is intriquing. I would like to share what we have if possible.

I can tell you about the property at the Grand Encore bluffs. some of the property remains. I have a lot of information about the Tauzin family. I am having difficulty proving the 3 brothers story.I know of 3 Tauzin that traveled to the new world in the 1700s, Bernard,Jean Baptiste, and Joseph but they are not brothers, cousins may be but no evidence that I can come up with. I would love comments.

I am a Tauzin from the Jean Leon Tauzin line. I live in Chackbay and have been researching the Tauzin family since 2003. I know that 3 brothers came to Louisiana from France: Joseph(1754-1841), Pierre(1757-1775) and Jean Baptiste(1760-?-this is my 4th great grandfather), and I believe there were others who remained in France. Girouard, Gerard, or Girard Tauzin(1730-?) and Jeanne Bartheau (1730-?)were the parents of the 3 who came to America. They married in France Nov. 2, 1752. I'll add more when I have time. I am a Tauzin born in 1952. I am from the Jean Leon line. I have a family tree titled: Louis Bobby Tauzin if you care to look at it. I would also love to compare information. Hi Pam,

I'd love to see what other sort of history you have gathered. My father was Steven Paul Tauzin of Lake Charles, LA. He died in 2010 but has a brother, Michael Tauzin, who is still alive. Their other brother, Guy, died many years ago. Their mother (my grandmother) still lives in Louisiana, though we haven't had contact since the funeral last year.

I am a descendant of Jean Baptiste Tauzin II's son Jean Leon. They settled in Chackbay, LA. We still live here and have since early 1800's. Check out my tree. Louis Bobby Tauzin. It is public. I can trace back to France where I believe the first Jean Baptist of the late 1700's was born to a Girard Tauzin and Jeanne Bartheau in Eauze, France. However, there I hit a brick wall. I know it is not the Joe Tauzin you are looking for however, I have a cousin, Joe Tauzin that lives in the Shreveport area that is a decendant of the Tauzin family(brother) that settled in Red River Parish(easier to spell than the parish seat).
I have also seen an old family tree(My brother has it) where there was a Joseph Tauzin also a decendant of the brother that settled in the same area.
Should you ever make it to Grand Encore, there at the state scenic overlook, the island in front of you is part of a 4 to 5 generation old farm that was called Tauzin Island.

Maybe you can help me figure out a mystery in my family. My grandmother, who was born in New Iberia, gave her father's name as Joe Tauzin. We have researched a line of Tauzins in that area back to Jean Baptiste Tauzin and Jean Marie Lanbeaux, but can't figure out where "Joe" fits into that picture. My grandmother's mother was Irma (or Emma) Champeaux. If you have any information or ideas that might help me figure this out, I'd be so grateful!

I know it's been 10 years now, but did you make any progress on your search? I have information that may go back to far to help you. Three Tauzin brothers came here in 1771 from a town called Eauze, France. Their names were Joseph, Juan Baptiste and Pierre. Pierre died in Louisiana shortly after arrival. My family comes from Joseph, who settled as a merchant in Natchitoches, Louisiana. I believe all Tauzins in Louisiana came from the two brothers Joseph or Juan Baptiste.

I am a Tauzin. I know my grandfathers name was Freddie Tauzin died in 1987. My father is Gerald James Tauzin born 02/04/1950 died 02/04/2005. Aunts Betty,Rita,Mary Ruth,Judy. Uncles Melvin and Leroy. And that's about all I know. Was told as a child we were of German heritage.

Hi! thanks for writing! We have been trying to find information on my grandmother's side of the family for a long time! We are having trouble finding her father.We believe that she might be illegitimate. On her baptisimal it has her mother, Irma Champeaux but no father! We have names for two men that we believe that were her father and maybe a stepfather, one was Bozzio Tauzin and the other one was Mike Brocato, we can't find information on either one. I sent your message to my sister, who is doing most of the research.

My grandmothers name was Eunice Tauzin, she married Percy Reynaud in Louisiana and moved up to Erie, PA. They had two daughters, Elizabeth Reynaud Matthews, my mom, and my aunt who is older, Doris Reynaud. I have one sister, Linda, she should be getting in touch with you if my message got through okay. :O)

Eunice is my fathers aunt, Benny has given me some really good information. So i guess that makes us cousins somehow. These boards are so cool. Teddy Jr. was my father and he passed away March 2, 2001 from Mesothelioma cancer, it was a long 9 month battle from being exposed to asbestos. I have a younger half brother Cody Ryan and he is was born Jan of 91 i believe. My grandmother who is Eunices sis in law i think is how it works passed away in November of 2000. I have two children Jayden Marie Garcia Dob 9-18-2001 and a son Dalton Chance Yarborough Dob 7-27-96 in case anyone is making a family tree and me Denise Ann Tauzin-Garcia Dob 11-18-75 if that helps i married Richard Lang Garcia on 3-11-00. Maybe Benny could use this info too. Anyways, i just get curious and look things up and here and there i may print a page or two to keep for future reference.

I am married to Wade Tauzin from Breaux Bridge.La. we lived in cecilia. I have trace his family tree from his great
grandfather (Aladin Tauzin ) and his great great grandfather
Leon Tauzin. If tis is the same family as yours please

Hi, my mom has been trying to do her family tree and we are having a hard time finding information on her mother's side. Her mother's name was Eunice Ann Tauzin, as far as we know her father's name was Bozzio Tauzin, we're not real sure about the spelling. For awhile they lived in the bayous, my grandmother married a percy louis reynaud and came up north to Erie pa. We think she also had a stepfather named Mike Brocoto. Benny Tauzin- a relative of mine, has an uncle Frank Tauzin, maybe there is a connection? I am not positive on where he is originally from, but he now resides in the Golden Triangle area, around Vidor, Bridge City, and Orange area, not sure which specific town. My grandmother, Nelta Tauzin, married to Teddy Tauzin SR. passed away on November 12, 2000. Maybe that may help with a connection, Dont know.
