I am so happy for your response. My great grandfather is Candelario. My grandfater was Ramon "Moncho" Tavarez. My dad is Victor they call him Cano or Canito. I don't have much knowledge of my dad's family. I remember my dad telling me names and Tomas was one of them. That would make you and my dad cousins!! hello I'm kevin Tavarez my father is Juan Tavarez and he is from Dominican republic Jarabacoa His Grandfather's brother was a captain of a ship who used to trade sugar with America that is all I know of my family. Ooo and also there is a rummer in the family that my fathers grandfather changed his last name from Estrella to Tavarez because Trujillo was killing all Estrella families.Also my great grandfather was very rich.

Hello! I'm also trying to track down some family history. Don't know much about my dad's family except that he was from Moca in Santiago, D.R. His mom, Angelica Tavarez passed away when he was about 6. An uncle raised him and brought him to the US. He has one sister and a few half sisters and brothers (on his dad side Almonte).
That'a all I know for now. Hope we can help each other in tracing our family history.

HI I dont know if there is any relation but my dad was born in Vicente Guerrero Durango his father was Panfilo Tavarez and was Married to Felipa Garcia. I know that my dad has several half brothers and at one point they came from Aguas Calientes and Sombrerete. Let me know it you have any info. thanks

Hey I read your blog and my grand fathers name and was Juan Ramon Tavarez his nickname was "Tony" though, i'm Karen Marie Tavarez by the way my dad was born in isabela i'm not sure about my grandpa though, good luck with the family tree oh look up gregorio tavarez i think he was the first pueerto rican tavarez

I knew who your grandfather was.
Moncho had married my aunt Carmen Altreche.
They were from Llanadas Isabela Puerto Rico.

I knew your father when I was a little girl living On Myrtle Avenue in Brooklyn. At the time he was living with Moncho and Maria.

Small world. If you like I can get in contact with my mother and ask if any of your ancestors are still living in the llanadas area.-
I think Moncho's sister had married my uncle Pancho. I need to check that it. If so, you have two cousins living in Llanadas who are also my cousins.

"Mon" se llama Juan Ramon Tavarez, el es el que es dueno de gasolinera y vive aun en Isabela, casado con Maria Cruz. Ellos solo tubieron un hijo, que murio en 1995, Jose Ramon Tavarez, que siempre administro la gasolinera. Su padre, el de "Mon" era Ramon "moncho" Tavarez. Mi abuelo era hermano de Mon, se llamaba Samuel, casado con Jovita Vega, vivieron en Santurce y Bayamon hasta que se mudaron a FL en 1986. Moncho, era mi bisabuelo, estaba casado con Marcolina "colin" Igartua (fallecida en 1992)- sus hijos Juan Ramon "mon"(vivo), Bienvenido "nin"(fallecido), Samuel "bey" (fallecido), Juan "juanito", Gloria "yoya"(viva), Loida (viva). Mon vive en Isabela, en el pueblo, tiene dos casas una en calle los pinos y la otra un poquito a las afueras del pueblo. Estan ya viejitos pero estan OK.

hey. your grandfather seems simular to mine. My grandfather was a bigshot in the dominican repblic. he was a jornalist. He knew the president or something. He had like 5 different wifes and had 10-15 children. i was just wondering if your grandfather was a jornalist in da DR.

i am also an tavarez. dominican republic. My grandfather was a famous jornalist in the Dominican Republic. I cannot find his name, but i know he was a big shot and he was friends with the president.

I really don't know much about my dad side of the family since his mom passed away when he was about 6 and his dad left him in the care of an uncle who brought him over to the US. Yo el nombre del barrio no me lo se. Lo unico que tengo son esos nombres. Mi abuelita con mi papa y los demas se mudaron a Santurce siendo mi papa pequeno todavia. Si fui a visitar a la familia alla pero no se el nombre del barrio. Tengo un tio en Pto. Nuevo que me podria dar esa informacion.

Mi abuelo Moncho no fue dueno de un gasolinera. En que barrio vivieron sus abuelos? El nobre de mi abuelo era Ramon "Moncho" Tavarez, mi papa es Victor Tavarez Alvarez.

Mi padre era Juan R. Tavarez-Valle, mi abuelo Bienvenido Tavarez y mi abuela Agustina Valle. No conozco el nombre de barrio pero se que mi viejo me hablaba de un "Mon" Tavarez que era dueno de la gasolinera.
