Seeking information on David Covey Terrill born
08 June 1808 in Cambridge Twp, Lamoille CO, Vermont. Parents were Josiah & Chloe Terrill.I would like to know if he married and, if so, wife's name.
I have a David Terrill who married Emelia/Emma C. Unknown. They had, I think, three children: William H., Jane Melisa, and Henry, all born in VT. This family moved to Hancock CO, IL by 1850.
Jane M. Terrill was my gg grandmother. She married Robert S. McLean in Hancock CO, IL.
I would like to know if David who married Emelia was son of Josiah & Chloe Terrill.

Do you have any information on Lottie Mae Terrill. She married Thomas Gann. These are my grandparents. Any information on any of the Terrill would be a great help. I would like to have some pictures of any Terrills if you have any you would share with m. I know my mom would appreicate them also. I did not know my grandmother Lottie Mae she died when my mom was only 10. I did not have a chnace to meet any of the Terrills. I would like to say thank you in advance.

Could a kind soul look up information on Theordore (AKA Frank) Terrill, b 1871?

Wife's name was Theodora, Dora, or even possible Margaret.
Lived in the Elmira, Emira Heights or Horseheads, Chemung, New York area between abt 1872 - abt 1949.

Information needed: full date of birth (possibly Austria), marriage, death, divorce.

I will be requesting his records, but need these dates to do so. I'm from out of state and can't get to the Steele Memorial Library. I can find a 1910 and 1930 Census data, and US City Directory's but nothing more.

The Terrill's are an elusive bunch, and after a few months of searching still can't find much on them, so hope that the library would have information that I can't find online.

Hello. I would love to see what photos you have of the cemetery. My mother and her father (my grandfather, David Terrill Johnson) made many trips to the old Terrill farm. Over the years they took some photos, tried to find and prop up some of the headstones. My granddad even made some furniture from the lumber of the fallen down homestead for his church here in Columbia ,MO. We can fill you in on some of those people you could not identify on the headstones. One in particular I know very well! "Willie F dau of T.W. & S.A.Walton". My mother says Wille was the infant daughter of Maj.(CSA) Thomas William Walton and Stella Amelia (Terrill) Walton, both Willie and her mother Stella died from typhoid in 1877.
We live in Columbia which is nearby the old farmstead, but it has been several years since we have been there. The land has been thru several owners , when my grandfather went there in the 70s the farmer had let hogs run thru the cemetery and the stones were all knocked down and buried in the mud. Do you recall what condition the site was in when you were there?

I am not good at determining the time of the photo, but would guess the turn of the last century. Would love to get this into the hands of family. Well, I located the death certificate of the Loretta Evans in Michigan, and her maiden name was Cole, so that candidate is out. The PA Dutch reference you had may be the key - I'll start digging.

Certainly her age would be correct for the wife of George. I don't know about John.

In my notes I have a statement saying she was Pennsylvania Dutch but no indication as to the source of that statement.

I have seen the reference you mention in Summit, NY and am inclined to believe that is my Loretta. Much of my family is from the area around Binghamton, NY and also Northern PA.

I have a 'hanging chad' that may be your missing Loretta Terrell. Born 1834 in Summit, Schoharie, NY to Samuel Terrell & Naomi Hughs, she last appears on the 1850 census, then disappears.

Samuel and his father Peter Terrell, Sr, are reported to be from Dutchess County, NY, but have never been able to prove it. Naomi is from CT. They appear on census records in Schoharie County as far back as 1820, relocating there about 1815.

The records you mentioned are confusing. I see the 1860&1870 census in Wayne, PA you mentioned, but both indicate Loretta was born in PA, not NY. I'm unable to locate the 1910 record.

Is it possible that she married John Evans (not George) and relocated to Michigan (1860/1870/1880 - Bellevue, Eaton, MI; 1900 Lancing, Ingham, MI)?

I've just spent most of the morning on your website. What a great job you've done! I'd like to take you up on your most kind offer of a CD of the Terrill family genealogy.

My Terrill connection is through my gg grandmother, Lucinda Ann (Lucy) Terrill(1806-1890, Marshall Co, WVA), daughter of Daniel Terrill and Sarah Prindell, and wife of John Harris. My great grandmother was their daughter, Sarah Ann Harris, who married James Robinson. My grandmother was Lucy Alice Robinson, who married James Ross Leach. Their daughter, Lois Helen Leach, who married Robert Frazier Craft, was my mother.

I have photos of Lucinda Harris, Sarah Ann Harris and James
Robinson,as well as their children,grandchildren, the Robinson farm in Marshall Co.,etc. I also have copies of letters exchanged by Sarah and James while he was serving in the Union Army. I would be more than happy to share any or all of this with you if you're interested.

We would like to have a copy of Col. Johnson's photo. He was my husband, Barry Evan Huffman's grandfather and my daughter, Ellen Huffman's great grandfather. Barry's mother was Jeanne Barry Johnson. Grandfather Johnson graduated from West Point during WWI. Barry has very fond memories of him.

My grandmother's mother Ivy Terrill and it seems her father Selden Lee Johnson descended from Roger and Abigail Ufford. I am having some difficulty trying to sort it all out. It seems that they married but may have been cousins in some way. Selden Lee's father was Chauncey R. Johnson and his father was Adna Johnson and Adna was the son of Phineas Johnson Jr. and Lois Skeels. Lois was the daughter of Ephraim Skeels and Mary Marks. Ephraim was the son of John Skeels and Sarah Blakeslee. I believe that John was the son of John Skeels and Hannah Terrill (1645) and Hannah was the daughter of Roger and Abigail. So, were my great-grandparents related?

My great grandmother is from the family of Josiah Terrill. I believe he came from NJ to Coventry, CT. Then some of the Terrills moved to Morrisville, VT area. My great grandmother is Ivy Terrill, daughter of Frederick Weld, great granddaughter of Moses Weld Terrill. These Terrills ended up in Middlefield, CT. Hope we have a connection!

Don, do you know of a living male Terril from this family whom we could approach for a DNA test request? I have donated to another project, but my female DNA won't help find the ancestors of Daniel and Adam Terril. I would be very interested in discussing this with a possible candidate. The test is very simple and they send the supplies. There might be a fund available to pay for the test if that is a problem, but it has to be a male direct descendant, because the Y-DNA (male) shows the path back to an ancestral connection. The charts of individuals tested so far (and their pedigrees) are available to view at:

I'm researching the following of John and Anne's childen:

1) Elizabeth "Betsy" Terrell who married Larkin Herndon.

2) Lucy Terrell who married William Murphey.

3) Martha "Patsy" Terrell who married James Murphey.

4) Sarah "Sallie" Terrell who married John Murphey.

I'm interested in any Murphy/Herndon connection to your ancestors. Our group of Murphy researchers believe the Murphey boys listed above were possibly sons of Gabriel Sr. Murphey (b. abt 1740) of Caswell Co NC. Larkin Herndon was a brother to my 4th Gr-Grandma Clarissa Herndon who married Gabriel Sr.'s son Gabriel Jr. Murphy. Our branch of Murphy's migrated from Caswell Co NC to Pike Co KY by way of Russell Co VA in the mid-1850's. Unfortunately I have very little information on these boys who married John's daughters, but due to the close proximity of the families and the link to Gabriel Sr. through Larkin Herndon, it's possible your Murphy men were relatives if not sons of Gabriel Sr. Would love to compare notes with you on this.

Henry H. Terrill (1812-1863) is burried in the Iola City Cemetery in Iola, KS. I have a picture of the headstone. It is a family stone that includes Min Post and Susan (Terrill) Post on one side and Henry Terrill, Sarah E. (listed as his wife at the time of his death. Remarried perhaps.), Oliver Post, Foster Post, Gertrude Post and Minnie Belling.

She was born in Cannelville, Ohio to the late Ward and Mary Alice Dozer Terrill.
She attended Roseville High School, worked at the McCoy Pottery for over 30 years and was a member of Immanuel Church of Christ in Zanesville.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Robert (Sandy) Bargar Jr. of Nashport, Ohio; four daughters, Sharon Connell of Zanesville, Rita (Bob) Wolf of Roseville, Ohio, Charlene (Louie) Rupe of Roseville and Karen Novaria of Roseville; a daughter-in-law, Edna Bargar of Zanesville; sisters, Romona Grant of Zanesville, and Reba Lemity of Avondale, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Mascio of Ravenna, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Bargar Sr.; her second husband, Edgar Jack Cooper; a son William Bargar; sons-in-law, Daniel Connell, Dean Novaria and Don Pettit; two sisters, Mildred Bradley and Edna Fay Terrill.

Visitation will be held from 2- 4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2010 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 33 N. Many, Many Terrills' up from KY to Howard,Grundy, Daviess, Livingston. Fountain married Mary Lowe 1864 after 1st wife, Rebekah Galloway Terrill died after 1860 census. Many lost to Consumption. Never located yet her death record/burial location. Fountain and two children, Oliver and Rebecca Mitchelll wife of Strother buried in Highland Cemetery, Hamilton MO. Fountain'ss daughter, Emily Terrill Murray wife of James C Murray.
Clear Creek Cemetery, Jackson Twshp, Daviess county contains many children of Emily and James. Founded Carlow on Murray land.
James son of Adam Murray/Elizabeth Cooper Murray buried Richland Christion Church south of Glasgow on Hwy 7. My 3rd great grandparents. Fort Cooper, Sarshal Cooper/Ruth Hancock my 4th greatgrands.

This couple were the parents of Mary 8 Apr 1817 in Cornwall and Elizabeth 13 Apr 1820 in Cornwall.
Does anyone have mother Mary's maiden name? I have 3. Hough, Trewren, and, one other that escapes me.
