Pierre, my grandfather is Paul Theron who immigrated to the USA from South Africa in the early 1900's-I think from Capetown. He married Mildred Wiedemann and was a career US Army dentist. He died in Temple, TX in 1952 and is buried in Fort Sam Houston national cemetery in San Antonio,TX. I'd be interested in any info you might have if we are somehow related? halo My ancestors are from Languedoc too...think our family weapon might be a fake one. Apparently they sold fake family weapons about 1890..tried to research but got lost, not sure which Theron descendent to follow.
We have many Jacques, Pierre, Sussana's...

My oupa het ook in Britstown gebly en hy is daar begrawe. Ek weet niks van die Therons nie, maar het 'n foto van hom. My pa was ook Petrus Theron en hy het twee susters gehad. Is daar dalk 'n skakel? Ek weet daar moes iewers 'n stephanus gewees het, want een van my pa se niggies Stepahnie, is na die man vernoem.

Hi Thomas, my great grandmother were Gertruida Magdalena Theron, married to Jakobus Vermeulen and lived in the Graaff Reinet area. Until recently there were still a garage "Theron's garage" belonging to the family. Any information on my ancestry would be much appreciated. Please mail me at james.middleton@za.didata.com.

All that I have is that his father was also named Jaques and he had a brother Moyze and one named Phillip. They lived in the town Nimes France.

I have also been researching my maternal family tree, "Theron" and we have the same ancestor.

My name is Thomas Pierre Theron, my father was Pieter Paul Adriaan Theron. He traced our lineage back to Jacques Therond, a soldier who came to South Africa with the Hugenots setling in Drakenstein, and before that to the town of Nimes in the Languedoc province in France. Theron research pre Jacques Theron 1688 or post 1750

I believe my ancestors lived in the Nimes (or Nismes) region in the Languedoc province of southern France around 1688. My ancestors name was Jacques Theron(d). He emigrated to South Africa via the Netherlands to escape the
religious prosecution.

I am very interested to find out if there are still any Theron families living in the south of France. Alternatively whether anyone of the family moved to America at the same time.

I also have some genalogical information for Jacques Theron in South Africa for the period of about 1688 - 1750, but then my information dries up and the oldest info I have is for my grandfather Hendrik Wilhelm Theron that was born in 1889 (I think in Pretoria).

He either moved from the Cape Province shortly after birth, or his parents moved from there. I would appreciate any information for the period before 1890 for the Theron family.

Karl Theorin

I'm searching for more info on the ancestry of Karl Magnus Klockare Theorin who was born ca. 1770 or 1780.
In 1809 he married Signild Magnidotter (also known as Signild Magni or Magnisdotter) who was born in " Västragård no.4, Hunna, Skatelöv " on Nov 22, 1784. She was baptised on Nov 25, 1784 and died on Jan 07, 1832 in Tvetaryd Södergård, Västra Torsås.

Karl (aka Carl) and Signild had at least 8 children:
Margareta Kristina, Kart Gustav, Kristina, Lovisa Ulrika, Anna Katarina, Magnus, Nils and Signild. (last names = Theorin)

Margareta (aka Margaretha or Margareth) Theorin married Adam Hakanson and they had 4 children:

Karl Erik Vilhelm Hakanson, Emma Kristina Hakanson, Jan Adonius Hakanson and Johan Gustav Hakanson.

I descend from Karl Erik Vilhelm Hakanson (also spelled Carl Eric Wilhelm or William) through his marriage to Cecilia Catharina Petersdotter.

Any info on these family lines would be greatly appreciated!

My maiden name is Theron. My great grandfather, grandfather, father and brother is called Georg (from apparently a German descent) Petrus Theron. My great grandfather came from the Tulbach\Ceres area and my grandfather was born in Porterville. Do you have any details regarding our lineage?

Bonjour, my name is Bernard FETON : I am French and living in southwest part of France in city of TOULOUSE.
The mother of my father was Henriette THERON born in VARREDDES near PARIS : but I know the origine of her family (THERON) is the city of LE PUY ( center south part of France not very far of Nismes ) however I dont know when her ancestors lived in LE PUY.
THERON is not a rare Lastname in South part of France. The word of theron means in occitan language "spring of water", "fountain", this word is in relation with the water which is coming from a mountain.
In the little city of Mazamet (South West France) there is a street called " rue du théron" (Theron street).
I suppose your ancestors came in SA, during the "révocation de l'Edit de Nantes 1689 ?" when Louis XIV was King of France (1643-1715).?
I believe in SA there is a town the name is DURBAN. In south part of France also, and there is many Theron people in this area.

Theron, he had a brother called Arthur, they came from the south. One of my grandparents were English.
