If I am not mistaken, Caroline Ann (Carrie) Thomaston b.1849 was a sister of Martha (Mattie) Thomaston b.1859. Caroline married William W Norwood, I believe. My ancestor Jehu W Thomaston (Jr) b.1864 is a brother of Caroline and Martha.

In the 1920 & 1930 US Federal Census, Andrew Joshua THOMASTON and Masinar 'Sina' THOMPSON THOMASTON were living at # 59 Murray Street, Newnan, Coweta County, Georgia; Celia L. Thomaston had a set of twin boys with surname THOMASTON, and was a widow, in 1920.

Andrew & Masina had seven children born of their marriage; we have found 4; we are having difficulty locating the 1900 US Federal Census for this couple, but we believe the other 2-3 children were born before Celia L. Thomaston, who was born about 1894, in Georgia.

We would certainly like to correspond with mebers of this family, and any help would be greatly appreciated!

Martha's father, John William Hill, was 75, a widower, on the June 1, 1880 enumeration date for the 1880 United States Federal Census, and living with Martha Hill Thomaston, then also a widow, in Georgia Militia District 792, Black Ankle, Heard County, Georgia area.

He was married to Martha Hill Thomaston, who was later living in 1920, age 92, in the Lowell, Carroll County, Georgia area with her son-in-law, Salathiel Asbury Thompson, and his wife, Barbara Ann Thomaston.

Would like to locate the cemetary of interment, and document the date of death; any information about his family, life, and descendents would be greatly appreciated....

They may have had an additional daughter, Harriet, who died at the age of 10.

My Great Grandmother was Mary Thomaston b.Jan.20,1839.d.May 9,1879. She married : James W. Wilson.In 1860 Census ,it shows them living at Blakes Ferry.Randolph CO.AL. Later became Clay CO.AL.They have three children: George W. age 6, Elizabeth age 4,and Thomas age 2.
I am trying to find out the name of Mary's Father and Mother .
On the Census it said she was born in GA. If she is in your Line.,I would appreciate any information you would want to share. Thanks in advance.

I have no records to prove it, but Lumina (Louminie) was born on Feb. 08, 1880 in Heard County, Georgia. She married William FARMER, circa 1904 in Heard County, Georgia. Lumina died on June 10, 1920.

I find William and Lumina living in Troup County on the 1920 Census for Pools Mill, Troup County, GA. They have living with them a Jessie or Jessia A. NORWOOD, mother, age 70, born in GA, father born in SC, mother born in GA. This would be Lumina's mother, and I'm told that her maiden name was THOMASTON.

Does anyone know who Lumina's NORWOOD father was? Does anyone have her mother connected to your family research? Thanks in advance, TJ

Caroline was born in 1849 in Georgia. She married William W. Norwood from Mississippi. William was born February 22, 1840, died on April 1, 1897 and is suppose to be buried at Centralhatchee Baptist Church in Heard County Georgia.

They had several children. One daughter, Louminie Norwood married William Allen Farmer.

Hi, Debra. I believe my gr-gr-grandfather William H. Thomaston and your gr-gr-gr-grandfather are the same person. Is it possible your Emily Edwards' first name was Sarah and she went by her middle name Emily? My records from the 1880 Al. Census have William H. and Sarah E. having 3 children: Carrie E., William H., and John T. They were in Cow Pans Beat 4, Tallapoosa County at that time. As you may know, most of the 1890 Census was distroyed by fire, but the 1900 Al. Census has William H. and Sarah E. living in Poplar Springs, Tallapoosa Co. They have four children listed: Barbarry J., Robbert J.(twins?), Otis L. and James H. From the oral family history I have, they had many children, and there are probably some in between 1880 and 1900 that have married, moved out or not survived. The 1900 Census lists William and Sarah as married for 29 years, Sarah having 10 children with 8 living. Does this correlate with your information?
