Sylvia,

I'm contacting you regarding the extensive copying you did from our family tree - Lebeau. While I acknowledge the tree is 'public' common courtesy dictates you would have asked permission. Our tree is professionally researched w/ documentation and I note that you attached to your tree w/ no notations. I am particulary apalled that you copied family photos of recently deceased members of my immediate family (namely my mother.) Perhaps you are new to Ancestry - but the norm is to contact the tree owner. Through the years we have been contacted by many people - to share, communicate, and partner.

The Thome family I am researching are Scot-Irish. I know that there is/was a lot of German Thom(e) research on some other message boards. Try Rootsweb message boards and see if you might find any names there. Good Luck. Sue

i would like to apologize. I was not aware that I was infringing on your tree. My uncle Raul Thome Lopez passed away and I was curious to find out about the members of my parents family. When I put the name Francisco Lopez in the Lopez family came up from my Great Grandfather and beyond. The name Lebeau came up as the husband of one of the children from Francisco Lopez and Virginia Garcia (my Great Grandparents) they had 11or 10 children. My Grandfather being one of them, Able Lopez who married my Grandmother Enriqueta Thome who I find was born in Kansas City and not Mexican but German. Your name of LeBeau came up but I did not go into your tree. It appears that we may be related thru Francisco and Virginia Lopez. Feel free to remove your pictures from my tree.

Would you tell me, please, how your ancestor, Abraham Wirch/Wirrich/Wuerch is connected with our Wuerch ancestors from Bietigheim and Kochanow. I've gone as far back as Bernard Wirrich married to Justina Rosina Wirth 28 Jan 1748. Bernard's father was also named Bernard and he was from Tamm. I found Abraham in Gluchow church records. These records only go up to about 1828.
Can you give me more information on Katharina Wirch born app. 1890 married to Alexander Nithammer both born in Kochanow? Our Wuerch ancestors left Kochanow for Volhynia and Bessarabia in the 1830's.

Carol Jones
thejoneses@shaw.ca

My grandmother Henrietta Thome was born in Kansas City on 7/15/1897. Her parents were German. they left to go back to Germany during WW1. Henritta Thome was taken to Mexico at approximate age of 7 by her nanny and lived in Chihuahua, Mexico. She was subsequently known as Enriqueta Thome. She married Abel Lopez at age 11 and had four children. She lived in El Paso Texas. I am looking for her parents. We always believed that she was Mexican and found out later she was German.

Photo surely was taken in Shiawassee Co., MI.

I found Helen Elizabeth Thome in the 1934 yearbook of the Univ. of Michigan, Ann Arbor, showing she was from Owosso, MI. The 1920 census for Owosso (Shiawassee Co.) MI shows Helen Thome, age 7, daughter of Edward N. and Della L. Thome. Lived in same location in 1930, and she is age 17.

Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to Helen E.
Thomé family from Bitburg, Prussia 1800's

Does any of your Thomé family come from Bitburg, Prussia?

I traced our family back to Bitburg, Prussia early 1800’s. This is new info for our research. I was hoping there might be others that have traced their Thomé family back to the Bitburg area.

Here is what I found:

Mathias Thomé was born 1808
He married Elizabeth Beverath on 02 Feb 1826 in Bitburg, Rheinland, Prussia
Had the following children – all born in Bitburg:
Josephus 1826
Magdalena 1828
Mathias 1831 – this is my line, he moved to and married Elizabeth Schroeder in Mersch, Luxembourg.
Anna Maria 1834
Anna Maria 1836
Philippus 1839
Theodorus 1841
Matthias 1843

If you are connected to any of the other children please feel free to contact me.
Mumma6@yahoo.com

The next question is where did Mathias (b1808) come from? :)

May I ask if all Thomes originally came from this area? (Nattenheim, Germany)
I know that many German names originated from one area. Would that be correct to assume that Nattenheim is the Thomes' origin?
I am in the tree of Thomes but I do not know where they came from. I always thought they came from Luxumbourg.
Thanks for you insight.

Re: Jacobus Thome - Nattenheim, Germany

Through Gary Thome I received an email address of one of our distant cousins1 in Germany. Through the progress of the thread on an e-mail and from snail-mail correspondence2, I received the following information that is new to me.

Nattenheim - which we know as the birthplace of our great grandfather John (Johann) Thome - just celebrated their 1250th anniversary 759-20093.

Gerhard writes that the house that our great-grandfather was believed to be born in was built in 17864 by our great, great, great, great grandfather named Mathias Thome (born Dec. 22, 17435). His son was named Jacob Thome apparently born January 1st 1770. He fathered Michel Thome and we have a confirmation the Michel was born November 18, 18196. Michel fathered John (Johann) Thome on 9/11/1855.

Additionally Gerhard provides photos of the home and from the photos we can see:

A.	The correct address is Hauptstraße 25 54636 Nattenheim, Germany
B.	The "architectural stamp" (keystone of archway) of Matt Thome above the doorway and
C.	The year the house was built in Roman numerals (again above the doorway): MDCCLXXXVI (attachment shows it dimly)

Footnotes:

1.	Inge Grethen Newen
2.	Inge’s father Gerhard Grethen (who was described by Gary as something like the town's historian)
3.	Charlemagne: (2 April 742 – 28 January 814) was King of the Franks from 768 to his death. He expanded the Frankish kingdoms into a Frankish Empire that incorporated much of Western and Central Europe.
4.	10 years after the Declaration Of Independence and three years before the French Revolution of 1789.
5.	About 8 months after Thomas Jefferson was born.
6.	~ a year and a half after & 20 miles from the birth/birthplace of Karl Marx (May 5, 1818)
Elizabeth Funk Muller, Katherine Ziemet and Marie Klatt were cousins. I noticed that you posted Marie Klatt's obituary so I feel that there must be a realtionship.
Elizabeth's father, Nicholas Funk immigrated about 1888 with his wife, Barbara and their four children.
Nicholas was born in 1853 in Mersch, LUX. His father was Stephen Funk who was married and had ? children. Then he married Caterina Thomes and had at least Mary Funk Grethen, Anna Funk Weimeskierch, Peter Funk and another brother.
Mary Funk married Peter Grethen and she is the grandmother of Rita Grethen Jarrard with whom I have been in touch.
Although much of that family lived in WS, our family lived in St. Paul.
I am trying to find out about the Thomes and learn dates and locales in LUX. If you can help me in any way, I would be grateful and would be glad to share the information which I have.
How are you related to Katherine and Marie?
Thank you in advance, Carole Sue
If you wich to EMail me direct, you may reach me at ramuller@Cox.net
Hi,
What exactly are you stumped on? The Thomes in my line are from Cruchten-Mersch Canton, Luxembourg. I do have a Catherine Thome in my gedcom but I have her married to Titt Schilling. They did not immigrate and I do not know when he died or if they had children. They were married in 1894. She was born in 1870 and died in 1957.
My Thome family went to Chicago first.
My guess is that all the Thome families are related that are from the Cruchten-Mersch Canton area. It would be fun to see how far back you and I are related!
What year have you gone back to?
