Hi, My Mother has been also searching for her Mothers history. She doesnt know her grandparents names but sid that Frank was a name she remembered hearing. She does know that her Mothers name was Catherine Fendler out of the Phila area. She married Earl Walker and they had her and she also had 3 brothers. Could this be the same Fendler? Her Mother left when she was a child and she was raised in foster care and orphanages. She is 84 now and I am trying to find answers for her. She knows that her Mother was brought over from hungary sometimes in the early 1900s. I found a registry on the Ellis Island website that seemed very close. Do Kata, Mary and Susanna ring a bell? How about Franz and Anna?

James was the son of John Till (1834-??) and Ann Ings, also of Hampshire. Would love to swap details with others who are related to this line.

I'm still trying to trace my paternal grandmother's line past Lewis K Till...I am fairly sure that Albert C Till, born 1838 was Lewis' father, and possibly Vastine was the father of Albert but I'm trying to confirm is this is so. I think Lewis lived in Mississippi and later, Oklahoma. But his parents may have been from South Carolina. I'd love any info on this...and to connect with any cousins from this Till line.

I am trying to find the lineage of my great-grandfather, Lewis (or Louis) K. Till. I know whom he married and his offspring, but am having trouble tracing before him. He was born in abt.1858, I believe he married before my g-grandmother and had 3 sons (Grover, Oram, Willie James) but I believe he was widowed and then married my g-granmother, Myrtle Clark in Texas. Together they had many more children, including my grandmother. He lived in both Mississippi and Oklahoma. (He finally settled in OK.)
Any help with his parents, grandparents and any info is appreciated.

I have just come out of hospital, so haven't been through the Family Tree suitcase. I remember my father used to speak of cousin Ferrand. My father came to NZ from Polesworth, Warwickshire in 1913. Apparently Ferrand was about his age, b. 1896 & moved to Sth. Africa where he bred budgies & was believed to be well to do! The relationship would be through the Knight family which was my father's mother's maiden name. I have an ebony elephant that he sent Grandma once, which later came out to me in NZ. My cousin Val, still in Dordon & 83 has vague memories of cousin Ferrand being mentioned. It would be odd if there were two of them from Warwickshire, moving to S.Africa. I'd love some more details & think I have the LDS record of his birth in Warwick, but nothing else. Could you help with details, please. Regards Marie Hall, nee Wallbank. If you wish, my Email is m.hall@actrix.co.nz. It's quicker than through Ancestry etc.

I am sure this is the correct Ferrand Till as he had a brother William according to my husband's mother. He came to South Africa from England and married Dorothy Ivy Curnow who, from research and letters, appears to have had links with Bedminster, Gloucestershire as she recieved a letter from a cousin she had in England by the name of Evelyn with a picture of Bedminster Paris Church of a wedding and I found a birth registration for Dorothy in Bedminster.
Ferrand and Dorothy married and had a daughter Joyce Elaine Till (my husband's mother's mom). Any info on this side of the tree would be great.
Michelle.
Durban, South Africa.

I see this is your first post.

You will have much better success if you add information you know about your grandfather. Do you know the day and month of his birth? Names of his parents? Names of siblings? Where he grew up? Have you found him in any online records?

You should also post what it is you are trying to discover? Did the family lose contact with him? Are you trying to trace your family back, so you are looking for the names of his parents?

Anything you can add would be helpful.

Thomas Jefferson Till's father was William Till. Thomas Jefferson was my Greatgrand father. Thomas Jefferson Till is buried in East Texas. He had moved his family to San Saba county, but had gone back to east Texas for some reason and died there. He had Will (probably William), George, John Clement, and a daughter whose name I can't think of at the moment. (We called her Auntie). John Clement (Clem) Till was my grandfather. He married Mittie Elizabeth Johnson; they had Leo Victoria, Noble Clement, Sherman Olan, and Alton Aubrey. Alton was my Daddy. He passed away at the age of 44 on Jan. 9, 1959 Alton married Willie May Whitley June 29, 1934. They had 3 children, Audrey Nerita, William Noble (Buck ) and Mary Virginia (Ginger). I have more on the family of Tills, but not with me at the moment. If you are interested, contact me ,Ginger Till Skelton at Box 68, Richland Springs, TX 76871.
Tills of Rhode Island

Hello there, I am looking for help getting past a brick wall in my Till research. My gggrandfather Josef Till was born in Austria and immigrated Aug 15 1891 on a ship called Elbe with his wife Katharine and his oldest three children, John Michael Till, Amalia Till and Charles Till. They moved to Pawtucket, Rhode Island where the rest of their children Simon (ggrandfather), Joseph Henry, and Louise were born. Their 1900 census states Josef and Katharine were born in Germany but the ship list and 1910 census states they were born in Austria. Any help would be appreciated. I can share information I have on their desendents. Thanks

Some stayed in Germany after the war (both East and West), while some others such as my grandmother emigrated to the US. Post a note and/or contact me if you have any Tills that have some relationship to Latvia! I list names below that have some relationship to the Till name and Latvia. Thanks!
