Searching for any information on Samuel Tobias. He was born in the area of Berks Co., PA that became Schuylkill Co. in 1811. Samuel and his wife, Elizabeth HANNEY, (various spellings) relocated to Greene Co.OH by 1821, where Elizabeth gave birth to William Tobias on March 14, 1821. Other siblings of William are Daniel, Samuel, Lydia, who married Wm KIRKPATRICK, Catherine, who married Wallace HAINES, and Margaret or Mary Margaret, who married Noah ENRY. Samuel, the father, died in 1829, in Greene Co,OH, but no tombstone has been found. Elizabeth later remarried to Michael SWIGART.

Ron, looking at census records in 1820 a Samuel does show up as head of house in Brunswick Twp, Schuylkill Co pg 041. In 1810 when it was still Berks Co the only ones in Schuylkill area listed under Tobias were Jacob in Manheim Twp pg 173, my direct ancestor; Peter Brunswick Twp pg 141, brother to Jacob and by the way his son John also went to Ohio; and William Pinegrove Twp pg 191 who I think is the son of Georg-brother to Jacob and Peter. Since Peter was in Brunswich Twp and his son John went to Ohio, I'd try that family. Good luck.

This line From Hans Jost Tobe is short. Seems girls run on this side and a number never married.

I have often joked that Tobias' are much more adept at siring girls than boys which is why so many of our "Tobias" lines die out. I believe I am the last of the male "Tobias" going back to my ggg gf, Benjamin (Circleville,
