Iowa - Elsie A. Tobias, 87, of Muscatine, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at her home.
Pastor Dennis Hakes of Walnut
Park Baptist Church of Muscatine will officiate the services.
Casketbearers will be Corey Phillips, Larry Strause, Rod Kirk Sr., Steve
Rundall, Gary Gafeller and Bob
Eddy, Brandon Strause. Honorary casketbearers will be Lisa
Rundall, Heather (Lanfier) Gafeller and Terri
Logan.
Burial will be held at Muscatine Memorial
Park Cemetery.

Park Baptist Church in Mrs. Tobias’ name.
Elsie Alberta McKillip was born on Oct.12,1919, in Moscow Township, Muscatine County, the daughter of Mark and Flora Mae (Law) McKillip. On Nov. 11, 1939, she was united in marriage to David W. Tobias in Kahoka, Mo.
She was employed by Martin Berry Insurance as a secretary and insurance agent, retiring after 25 years. She was a member of Walnut
Park Baptist Church for more than 50 years, teaching Sunday school, leading AWANAs, and holding several offices and positions within the church.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Judith (Robert)
Eddy of Polk City, Carole
Logan of West
Liberty, and Mary (Rod Sr.) Kirk and Kathy
Tobias, both of Muscatine; four grandchildren, Corey (friend Judy Stender) Phillips of West
Liberty, Lisa (Steve)

Liberty, Heather (Gary) Lanfier Gafeller of Muscatine and Terri
Logan of West Liberty; and three great-grandchildren, Korie Gafeller, Aarin Gafeller and Connor
Logan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David, in 1972; five sisters; and two brothers.

Tobias, 94, of 808 Colver St. in Muscatine died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at his home.
Memorial services are 10 a.m. Thursday at the
Faith United Church of
Christ. The Rev. Jim Trosen will officiate. Burial will be at
Greenwood Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Maurice Reed, Jim Loper, Richard O'Brien and Al Church. Musical selections will be provided by organist, Debbie Nelson and vocalist, Connie Miller.
A memorial has been established for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and
Faith United Church of
Christ and may be left at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, who is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Tobias was born April 9, 1907, in Muscatine, the son of William F. and Susan Smith
Tobias. He married Margaret Hawkins Aug. 21, 1928, in Muscatine. She preceded him in death Nov. 25, 1992.
He was a member of
Faith United Church of
Christ where he served on many committees, BPO
Elks Lodge No. 304,
Moose Lodge, former member of the Rotary Club for 32 years, co-chairman of the Multiple Sclerosis Chapter for six years and delivered Meals on Wheels for 16 years.
He received the State Volunteer award from Governor Terry Branstad in May 1984.
He owned and operated Hershey Avenue Market with Walter Schmidt and the Town and Country Fabrics shop with his wife for 12 years.
Survivors include six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a son-in-law, Arnold Ward of Muscatine; a half-brother, James Young of Muscatine; and a niece, Norma Jean LeMense of Hemet, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two daughters, Janet Ward and Donna Lee Toyne; three sisters; two half-brothers; a step-sister; and a grandson, Scott Toyne.

Mrs. Tobias was born on Oct. 7, 1916, in Muscatine, the daughter of Christian and Emile Drewke Schroeder.
She graduated from Zion Lutheran Parochial School in 1930.
She worked for Montgomery Wards for 32 years and Von Maur for nine years.
She was a life member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothea and her husband, Rev. Robert Rosenberg, of Oshkosh, Wis. and Lynn Guthrie and her husband, David, of Tempe, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

BILLINGS, Mo. -- William C. Tobias, 59, Billings, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at his home after a terminal illness.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Memorial
Park Cemetery, Muscatine. Meadors Funeral
Homes, Republic, Mo., is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Tobias was born on April 3, 1943, in Muscatine.
He was the director of operations at D & D Food Marketing Inc., Springfield, Mo.
He was a member of the Columbus Community Presbyterian Church and a long standing member of the Columbus Community Shriners
Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Lyn R. Tobias; two children, Lisa L. Ayotte of Lincoln, Neb. and William Darrin
Tobias of Atlanta, Ga.; and two sisters, Linda S. Pudil of Columbia, Mo. and Chloe Ann Nelson of Lincoln.

Mrs. Tobias was born Oct. 4, 1919, in Muscatine, the daughter of William E. and Sophia Weikert
Hilton. She married Andrew Ernest
Tobias on Oct. 28, 1939, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in 1981.
She was employed at Central State Bank for more than 24 years before retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Women of the
Moose, Muscatine General Hospital Auxiliary and the Ladies of the
Elks. She enjoyed playing cards with her clubs, reading, traveling the United States and golfing at many well known courses.

Mary McElroy was born on August 15, 1919 in Pleasant Prairie,
Iowa the daughter of Glenn and Katherine Welch McElroy. On March 29, 1940 Mary was united in marriage to Raymond Robert
Tobias in Muscatine. Mary was a member St. Mathias Catholic Church. She was employed at Barton's Fashion Corner until her retirement in 1989.
Mary will be deeply missed by her daughter Cathy
Henning and her husband Jerry of Muscatine; two grandchildren, Jennifer VanGorp and her husband Sam of Ft.Worth, TX and Jeff
Henning and his wife Denise of Muscatine; and two great grandchildren, Ryan and Rylee
Henning both of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1983, two brothers; and one sister.
