He died in 1840 in a mining accident aged 39, so dob should be abt 1801 but I can find no record. Have a suspicion he may have been born in Ireland ?

My Uncle Bill See who is grandson to Elizabeth Ann Trathen, daughter of Thomas B. [brother to William] & Sara "Jane" Marks Trathen still resides in Roseburg, OR... If you would like email me and we can correspond that way...

Robin.Cassisi@verizon.net

Sincerely,
Robin

The information I had previously was later verified on Ancestry.com thru the World Tree Viewer - Individual Views and Pedigree Views. The siblings of my William Trathen were: Elizabeth Jane Trathen, Eleanor Trathen, Jacob Trathen, Mary Ann Trathen, and Susanna(h) Trathen. I had a Thomas born in 1957 but could find no trace of him in my research. Perhaps he died at a young age. We could have a link somewhere. I lived in Port Orford, Oregon, in the late 40's and 50's, not far from Myrtle Creek - Coquille was our closest "big" town. My father (99) lives in Florence, OR.

My records (undocumented) that William Trathen (born 1835 in St. Blazey, Cornwall, died 1903 in Central City, CO (this I know for sure))had a sister Susanna (Rowe), born 1853. I show that his parents were Jacob Trathen (born 1809 Redruth Cornwall, died 1858 St. Blazey, Cornwall) was married to Jane Nichols (born 1811-13? Luxwlyan, Cornwall, died 1896 in Central City, CO (she had gone to Colorado to care for her 3 grandaughters as my ggrandfather William Trathen was widowed in 1869. Jacob Trathen's parents were Jacob Trathen (b. 1775) and Ellinor Dawe (b. 1781) - no death date on either one. Jane Nichol's parents were William Nichols (born c.1776) and Grace Martyn (b. 1780 and died 1854 in Luxwlyan, Cornwall). Jacob Trathen's parents were John Trathen (b. 1749) and Patience Knight (no info). Ellinor Dawe's parents were Peter Dawe and Mary Williams - only info on them was that they were married in 1780. William Trathen struck it rich in Colorado; however, he disowned my grandmother when she married my grandfather Chris Stevens (also from Cornwall). If you have additional information or corrections to what I have, I would really appreciate it. I live in Pennsylvania but was originally from Oregon.

The info of the first names of these 3 Sisters (their first names were not listed in Nels' obituary) would be appreciated as well as any other info.
My gr. grandfather was William Trathen, b. 1835 in St. Blazey, Cornwall, d. 1903 in Central City, Colorado USA. His parents were Jacob Trathen, b. 1809, and Jane Nichols, b. 18ll. My William had a brother named Thomas, b. 1857, another brother Jacob and sisters Elizabeth Jane, Eleanor, Mary Ann, and Susanna. I have a lot of information on my William Trathen which I would be happy to share if there's a connection.
