Hi, I'm trying to trace (purely for genealogical purposes) a Rose Trevor who lived at 425 Cherry Lane, West Derby, Liverpool in 1923. She was a domestic servant at the time, aged anywhere between 15 and 30 I would guess. She appears to be my grandmother as she was the biological mother of my mother.
Many thanks for any help.
David

Hi Brian & Steve
I don't know whether you are still researching Charles Trevor (I have only just found the thread)
Charles was my husband's G/G/Grandfather. One of his sons Thomas emigrated to Maryborough, Queensland, Australia on 18 Apr 1883 on the "Earl Granville". He married Eliza Jane Williams in Maryborough on 25 Nov 1885 and they had 11 children.
I live in Queensland and would love to hear from you if you are still interested. I can help with our family, but don't know very much about Charles. All I could find on 1841 census was William Trever age about 56(spelt with an 'e')and married to Elizabeth age about 55 (he was ag.lab)and son Charles (age 20)in Baschurch, so I don't know if this is right.
Pryce Trevor arrived in Maryborough on 19 Jul 1883 on the "Kapunda".

Kind regards,
Elaine
I don't have a whole lot of information, but this is what I do have:

Patrick Trevor (also seen as Travers or Trevers) married to Ellen Burns

Children:
John Trevor (b. 5 Nov 1854)
Mary Trevor (b. 15 May 1856)
Sara Ann Trevor (b. 23 Apr 1858)
Bernard Trevor (b. 25 May 1860)
Margaret Trevor (b. 30 Apr 1862)
Patrick Trevor (b. 21 Apr 1864)
Catherine Trevor (b. 30 Jan 1866)
Ellen Trevor (b. 14 Feb 1868)
James Joseph Trevor (b. 15 Feb 1869) - My Great-Grandfather
Ellen Trevor (b. 15 Sep 1871)

My great-grandfather married Margaret Anne Rice, and her parents were James Rice and Mary McNulty (also seen as Kinolty).

Unfortunately, I don't have much more information than that! Let me know if any of this sounds familiar!

Kathleen

Thanks for the reply. My ancestor John Trevor was the son of a Thomas Trevor, a tailor and according to the English census was born in Newry County Down. Thomas and Patrick Trevor who are with him were both born in County Down and Patrick was born about 1825 (Thomas in about 1821). I have made contact with a descendant of Thomas and his father was also a Thomas so I can only assume he and John were brothers.I have not found Patrick after 1851 unless the Peter or Peter Patrick Trevor born County Down about 1825 who appears at Worcestershire in 1871 is him. From the scattered Irish records that I have found on the internet there appear to be a few Trevor/Trevers etc in County Down so we could well be connected. Do you have any indormation on Trevor families in County Down.

Cheers, Ross

My Grandparents and extended family.

My mothers name was Heather Eira Allshorn. Father James and mother Gertrude [Trevor] My mother came to NZ by boat but I don't know when. She looks about early 20's in photos. I found a marriage in June 1908 for my grandparents but I cannot find death notices or a birth for my mother. Have no idea how old she was when she died, about 53 they thought. She died in 1986. But I think she was older than that. If my grandparents married in 1908 how soon after was my mother born. Were there any brothers or sisters? I remember Mum mentioning an Aunt Lil? We wrote to a London newspaper about 1978 - 1980 looking for family members. She had a couple of replies. Please if anyone can help me. I was told my grandmother died when my mother was a little girl and her father brought her up. This is all I know and would appreciate any help at all. My mothers death notice said she was born in Scotland, Renfrewshire. But I don't know how true this is. She called herself a Pom and was proud of it. I am finding this very important to me. We didn't have long enough together and she now has three grandchildren that will miss having a Nanny. I want and need to be able to tell them as much as I can about their wonderful Nanny and family.
Thank you to anyone who can help me.

Steve,
Thanks for your response.
I had assumed that you may have descended from John Trevor & Matilda Pond.
You are correct, John's first wife was Mary. He also had a sister, Mary.
I will send you what I had researched on John Trevor, but had until now been unable to confirm it.
Regards
Brian Clarke

hi Brian, thanks for responding.I think Mary might be John's(my great grandfathers) first wife.He had 2 daughters,Agnes & Polly. He married a second time(M.Pond) and had a son Charles,my granddad.Pryce, I believe was employed at Park Hall, Wittington.I think Charles might have had an older brother William b1814 also from Baschurch.
Do you have any info about the parents of Charles?
thanx much
S.Trevor

I am also researching what appears to be this family, although the dates are different. I have Charles Trevor (b. 1821) married Elizabeth Tudor (b. 1828). Children were: John (b. 1849), Mary (b. 1852), William (b. 1855), George (b. 1857), Richard (b. 1860), Pryce (b. 1862), Thomas (b. 1866) & Eliza (b. 1867).
William, believed to have died in England, 1877. All others except John & Mary emigrated to Australia

I am looking for info on the above family, descendents of Charles Battye, born 1780 (father John Battye of Scholes)died 1852 who married Jane Crispin, England. They went to San Domingo and owned a plantation and were very wealthy. This couple gave rise to the TREVOR-Battye line of the family that had connections with India(through nephew, George Wynyard); England and Australia (through nephew Edward) and I need to find out more. Can anyone help. Many thanks, Deborah.

Trevors Coat of Arms

About 25 years ago I purchased, from the J.L. Hudson book department, pages taken from a Book of Heraldry.

The pages are 11 ½" x 18" and printed, actually hand written, on heavy brown paper and I would consider them to be in good condition. At the time I bought them I was considering having them framed, but never did.

Set 2
Page 410
Coat of arms for "The Right Honourable Robert Hampden, Baron, TREVOR"

Page 411 (double spread—21"x18")
A Genealogical Table of the Noble Family of Robert Lord Trevor, Baron of Bromham. (includes a smaller coat of arms "The Original Arms of Trevor")
Surnames include Trevor, Hampden, Morley, Searle, Welding, Spence, Frankland, Spencer.
Dates from bef, 1448 to 1767.

Would these pages be of interest to anyone?

Rev Thomas Trevor TREVOR Prebendary of Chester

I am looking for the marriage and birth records of Reverend Thomas Trevor TREVOR who was a Prebendary of Chester (received his income from a parish attached to Chester Cathedral) and married to Elizabeth around about 1800.

His five children were all christened at Chester Cathedral between 1800 and 1806.

Mildred Judith Trevor 27 June 1800
Edward Trevor 27 February 1802
Robert Salusbury Trevor 31 December 1802
Salusbury Humphreys Trevor 3 March 1805
Frances Harriet Trevor 28 June 1806

My grandfather told me the family were related to John Hampden cousin of Oliver Cromwell, of English Civil War and shipping taxes fame. I'm trying to track the connection.

For anyone interested - Robert Salusbury Trevor joined the 3rd Light Cavalry and was assasinated in Kabul, Afghanistan in the First Afghan War of 1838-1842. His wife, Mary Spottiswoode and two of his sons, William Spottiswoode Trevor aged 10, and Arthur, a 'babe-in-arms" were taken hostage by the Akbar Khan but were later released. William returned to Scotland to attend school, but later returned to India and won the Victoria Cross in the Indian Uprising of 1865. His brothers, John Salusbury Trevor, Salusbury Thomas Trevor, and Arthur Charles Trevor, all were eminent persons in India. Arthur became a "Sir" and was a commissioner in Pakistan, John had a brilliant army career and became a Major General.
