Hello Dennis:
I have seen your posts about all of the Triggs family and hope you would please help me. Jacob S. Triggs born in 1828 and married to Nancy Jane Lipe was my 2nd great grandfather. They had a number of children. I believe that I know what happened to all of his children except for two:
Sofirie Elizabeth Triggs born 10 Nov. 1864 and married to Henry Black 28 June 1881, and John Fletcher Triggs born 10 Dec. 1858 rumored to have been killed in SD in an Indian attack in the 1880's. Do you additional information on them?
Thank You!
Neil Danielson

James M. & William TRIGGS

I am searching for information on James M. TRIGGS (1872 Iowa) and his wife (unknown). They had a daughter, Eathel A. TRIGGS (GRIM(M), born 30 May 1894 in Missouri. 1900 census finds James and Eathel living with his parents in Kansas. He is a widower.
His father William TRIGGS dies in 1906, assumingly in Kansas. Eathel and her grandmother, Rosetta HAYES TRIGGS, are found living with William and Rosetta's daughter Rose and husband Rufus JOHNSON in Sullivan, Missouri in 1910 census. Eathel's father is not listed and I find no evidence of him in any future census.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Vickie CAUGHEY Calzada

Hello, Dennis, tonight is the first night I have started searching for my ancestors, the Triggs family. My grandfather's brother was Glen Triggs and his father was Starling Triggs. I would love to see the photo you have if it would be at all possible to scan it an email it, I would really love to show it to my dad, Roy D Triggs.

My grandpa was Emory M Triggs. I am so amazed at the amount of info you have. It seems most Triggs are in Oklahoma and California now days as far as I can tell... wow, I'm still in shock to find your post.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Rhonda Triggs Cancino

I am trying to find information on my mothers biological parents. All I have is that her mother's maiden name was Triggs. She is also to have two bio brothers, Possibly Arthur and Walter who were sent away in wartime to Canada and one to Australia. They are believed to be 10 to 12 years older than Mom.(born 1925). I don't know if there was a marriage or not. Time frame around for brothers(1912-1915)parents (1890's). If anyone can help this would be great?

Hi Glenn,
I would like to get in touch with you and tried to email you at DARKEPIproductions@hotmail.com but my email was returned to me. Can you please try contacting me at lisaannewright@gmail.com

Thank you for getting in touch with me as I have been struggling to find more details on my Triggs relatives. My Gt Gt Grandmother was Amy Jeanette Triggs born in 1858 in Sandhurst (Bendigo), Victoria. Amy married Thomas Wright in 1881 in Richmond, Victoria. My name is Lisa Wright and I too was born in Victoria, but now live in Qld.

I have a handwritten copy of a letter that Ada Triggs wrote about the Triggs family to her nephew discussing the Triggs family. Unfortunately most of the names have been removed (I don't know why). I do know that our ancestor who first came to Australia was James William/Wilkin Triggs and he and his mother came together after James' father died.

James was apparently born in 1832 in Yarm, England and married Jane/Jeanette Butland in Australia in 1855. Apparently James was an accountant. Ada does mention that the Triggs name goes back to 1662. James' daughters Ada and Amy Triggs went to England to trace the Triggs name and Ada states in the letter that they found a record saying that James Triggs of Thistleworth, married Annie Dillian in 1662. I have also found proof of this record on Ancestry.com.

Basically I have a big gap between James Wilkin Triggs of 1832 and James Triggs of 1662. If you think we are related and have any information at all, I would be most appreciative and happy to share my research with you also.

I hope you have a Merry Christmas and hope to hear from you soon.
Hi Christine,
This is a long shot as I am also tracing the Triggs family from England. I don't have many names and dates, my most distant ancestor is James Triggs of Thistleworth, Middlesex, England. He married Annie Dillian in 1662. Apparently one of my Triggs ancestors lived in Clifton, Bristol in the time of Queen Victoria.

In Australia my great grandmother was Amy Jeanette Triggs born 1858. Please let me know if you find a connection.
Lisa Wright

Hi Fiona

No I haven't solved this one yet. Its proving very difficult.

I only have g granddad in 3 census, 1901 born Aldershot, 1891 I think it was Petersfield, and 1881 born Camberley. They only had 1 child granddad George who died 1914 in Ypres William who would have been younger died in his 1st year. And to top it all I have never been able to find g granddad's marriage to Rose/Rosanna Ricketts. That's if he ever married her as in 1901 she is using her maiden name and is housekeeper, but they are still living in the same house. Granddad is in the Boar War. I now have ancestry so I am hoping when I can find the time to try and log all George's born 1848 +- 5 years. Try and follow them through each census so that I can then cross off the ones 1881 onwards. Hopefully I should end up with a short list. George snr died 1904 in Merrow near Guildford.

I have often wondered if g granddad was in a war myself as we do have another medal that's not granddad's but we can't make out the year. I see Westhampnett is not that far from Petersfield. A good possiblity there. Have you tracked him in any other census.

Irene

Hi Fiona

Yes I found them but not after 1871, do you know what happened to them after 1871 as my George appeared in 1881. This could be very interesting. Maybe he didn't marry Rose because he was already married. Would it be possible he was in the Army/Navy. This could be worth following up as its the best lead l've had in 5 years. I did think maybe he was from the Headley lot, that is near Petersfield and some did come up to Camberley and then returned to Headley, but I couldn't find a George of the right age

Thank you so much for contacting me, we must keep in touch. You can view my email address by clicking on print message. I don't add them to message boards anymore as I always end up with a lot of junk mail.

Look forward to hearing from you

Irene

Annie Edgecumbe (I think her father was Thomas Edgecombe. Daughter Frances Amelia Toll (wife of Joe Toll). There's also mention of Alfred Triggs, a dau. Isabella Triggs Barkshire (wife of Harry Barkshire). he talks of a great granddaughter, Amelia Gladys Hines. Anyway trying to fill in the blanks. Any info would be appreciated

Jack Lake: this is the first time in a long time I have done any research on the Triggs line, but stumbled on your message of 2002 concerning them.. My mother-
in-law was Ethel Audrey Triggs and her married family came from Humphreys, MO way back when (before 1930) to Twin Falls, Idaho... I met their daughter, Lola
Grimm(Grim), who became my wife of 50 years.. have you any connection to these people (the Truman Albert
Grimm family)?... I have been unable to come up with
any info on the Grimms or Triggs.. would certainly appreciate any furtherance on these lines... I know your message was over 3 years old, but just by chance
you may still be working on it... thanx, Dave Marrs

John MALONE (b.ca1795, VA - d. dt unkwn, IA) and spouse Sarah (Maiden name unkown, possibly KNAVE, NEFF, etc.), (b.ca1800, VA) appear in 1850 Fed census, Washington Twp, Hendricks Co., VA and in 1860 Fed census, Liberty Twp, Lucas Co., IA.

In addition to the the MALONE children of varied ages in the household during both census enumerations, are two minor children: Nancy Ann BOWLES, (b. ca1841, Hendricks Co., IN-d.1781) and John L. BOWLES, (b.ca1844, Hendricks Co., IN). These are the children of "Polly" Ann MUMFORD (name at birth probably Mary ANN MALONE). Miss MALONE, (b.ca1819, location unknown - died January 17, 1844, Washington Twp, Hendricks Co., IN).
Polly Ann MALONE married on December 28, 1841, Amos BOWLES, (b. ca 1823, Bourbon Co., KY- d. ca1845-47, location unkown). It is noted that Polly Ann (MALONE) BOWLES died the same year her son John L. BOWELS was born. To date, no definitive relationship has been determined between John and Sarah MALONE and Mary Ann "Polly" (MALONE) BOWELS. It is reasonable to assume she may have been their daughter.

Nancy Ann BOWLES md. December 5, 1861, Lucas Co., IA, with Aaron BURGETT, b. October 19, 1841, Johnson Co., IN-d.
