Trish in Canada (Brantford, Ontario..)

Looking for any connections or information on the Trish surname/family, one branch of which settled in the Brantford area. Peter Trish married a Barbara abt 1840 in Prussia and had at least three children: John (d.1898), Barbara Ellen (m. Walter Bragg) and Agnes (m. John Schuman). Barbara (Trish) remarried, to a John Brandt abt 1858 in Ontario, and had perhaps three children from that issue: Peter, John and George.

Thanks
Martin Lacoste

I know that this message was posted a long time ago, but Jonathon Trish from Coulsdon was my ancestor too. I think the name is either Prussian or Bavarian apparently it was anglicised from either Trishler or possibly Trishelm.

John & Mrs. John Trish, OHIO

"Celebrated Golden Wedding" is the headline of this clipping, found in the scrapbook of my GGAunt Lena Bibler. The article is small, includes a picture (B&W) of the couple.
"Mr. and Mrs. John Trish, who reside at Jersey, recently celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage. The event of the golden wedding was informally celebrated."
**the photos, one of each person, are of similar background, and while grainy, relatively clear. He is a slender gentleman, full gray beard at the chin (not to his ears) and a full mustache meeting the beard. He is wearing a jacket, black bowtie, and white dress shirt. She is a dour faced woman, not at all happy-looking. She is wearing what appears to be a dark, polka-dot dress, with a high neck. Her hair is pulled back into a severe bun. I should be able to copy the photo if desired**

Are any of the American "Trish" families related to the Trish family originating from Coulsden, Surrey, England? I can get as far back as Jonathan Trish est date of birth 1817.
Also, does anyone know what the surname means? I have hit an impasse on this one.
Thanks
John L Trish

Is there any chance that Trish is a change from the spelling of Trisch. My family comes from Christian Trisch but the spelling was changed to Treesh for most of his decendants. I have an indiacation that one of the sons kept the orginal spelling. Contact me at RTREESH@aol.com
Rick

Trish Family

My mother was married to a Herring, and his mother's name was Helen Lorraine Trish, born late 1800's in Indiana as far as I know. She had brothers and sisters--twins, Pearl & Earl and possibly a Pauline. She married Fremont Herring in Fort Wayne(?) before WW1 and later moved to Putnam County Ohio. The senior Herrings are all gone now and I'd like to piece some things together as Helen never gave info. I was told her father committed suicide. Helen was a teacher and got her education at the Normal School in Ft. Wayne. I have been unable to locate any census information on the Trish family. I am told another family name was Truesdale. Can anyone tie into this for me? email me at: gaylealex@hotmail.com

I have the information that my great-grandfather Greenbury John Trish was born in 1874 and died 1947. He is buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hanover, Pennsylvania. If there is anyone out there with more information to this line, please e-mail me at Angela91959@aol.com. I think that my greatgreat-grandfather's name was John Frederick or Frederick John Trish. Thanks.
