I'm not sure if Mina is buried there. I have a partial list of Trussells & she is not listed. Could she have remarried since her children were very young?

I am interested in Vincent Trussell who died in 1892 and is buried in Zion Cemetery in Portersville, Ohio. He married Mina (Elmina) Grooms in Franklin Co., Ohio in 1884 and they had children Artie Ray (b. 1885), Mary E.(b. 1888 m. William Ansel) and Laurel L (b. 1890 m. Harvey Bolyard).

Is Mina also buried at Zion? Mina was a daughter of my gg-grandfather Peter Grooms of Franklin Co., Ohio.

I am looking for info on Mayberry Trussell also. I come to a roadblock at Mayberry. Everyone seems to think that his father is William T. Trussell, but I haven't found any citation.

BTW, I am familiar with Dumas! I went to college in Lubbock and have many friends from your neck of the woods!

I believe you must be descended from Lavinia nee Trussell and William Martin.
I am the Great Great Grand daughter of Henry James Trussell, Lavinia's brother who lived in Brighton and died in June 1917 .
The website you linked to for the Trussell's is an amazing site!
Have made contact with a relation from Seattle Washington where Frank Trussell son of Henry James emigrated to when 18 after a rift with his Father!

Thank you for you response, the Dekalb county I am interested in is in Indiana. I did not know there was a Dekalb Mo? The family I am looking for is a William Trussell, who married a Mary Smurr, who later became a Coats. How about any Musselman"s in your family?

Michael, in what part of the Trussell family in DeKalb County are you interested? I am thinking you mean MO? My ggrandfather Elvin Matthew Trussell was born in Paris, Monroe County, MO and moved to DeKalb County with his family from there. Let me know if you think I can help.

I have a William W. Trussell born 1/01/1877 Died 06/17/1955.
the 1930 census shows his parents to be from Louisana, but I don't have the parents names. William was married to
Dellar ( Della LeMaster, some places it is spelled LaMaster,
they have 4 children Floyd, Thorton, George, Marshall,
Oliver.and a sister in Law names Annie LaMaster, if if this is part of your tree I would love to obtain any information y you might like to share. thanks Marylyn Hufstuter Trussell.

I'm also hunting this line. I'm stuck at these two people. I've followed the links on Genforum, but there must be at least THREE women named Dicey (of various spellings) as the two in the various links are the wrong generation for Dicey (Trussell) Holley that was born in 1812. Following the Trussell family lines back, she is not listed anywhere.

Has anyone come up with more information?

I'm stuck with James Holley as well :( My husband's great grandfather was Carl Price Holley, son of William C. Holley, son of James and Dicey (Trussell) Holley.

I have no connection to this family. This appeared in the Rockland (Maine) Courier-Gazette of April 30, 1910 in a column entitled "This Week Twenty-Five Yers Ago - A review from the columns of this paper of some ofo the events which interested Rockland and vicinity for the month ending April 28, 1885":

"J.W. Trussell retired from the restaurant business."

In some old city directories, I found the following:

1868 - Joshua W. Trussell - Dentist
1877-78 - Joshua W. Trussell - Splint Mfr.

I will look and see if I can find the obit for my sister's father. As I said before, we have no knowledge of him other than what I have found online. He was not involved in her life at all. Here is what I know about my great grandfather William Harvey Trussell, HIs mothers name is Mary, Father's name is William too. Family say's he was born in England in 1853 22 Dec. I have extensively searched what I can from my computer and with hired help and with the help of the census avaiable here and England and what information I can retrive from Query's.No additional information is avaiable. I know that William Harvey lived in Defiance when his first son was born 1885 Febuary 9th.Married Anna Musselman in 1878 November 11. They lived on Elm Street lots 9 10 ,11. My sister's father was born in West Virginia, in Berkeley County, most likely in Martinsburg. His mother was born in Maryland and his father in West Virginia. And his maternal grandparents were born in Maryland. This is all information that was listed in the 1930 census as we have no direct knowledge of him.
I was looking for information on him when I came across your question about Hicksville, Mercer and Celina. I found it to be coincidental considering her name was Trussell too.

What information, specifically are you looking for?
Perhaps I can make a search and see what I can come up with something different than you currently have.

Thank you so very much for answering my Query. Is there any chance I or you might be able to ask your realtives about their ancesrty? This might be a lost link that i can explore. If Hicksville is that close to the Indiana border then the 1910 Federal census is correct for the listing of my gggrandfather that says he was from Indiana. Wow this is great maybe maybe finally I can make some progress on the family, Please follow through on this and maybe you can be my savior!!!!!!!!!!!! Ask you sister!!!!!!!

I am unable to comment on your family itself. Hicksville is in Defiance County Ohio. Almost to the Indiana/Ohio state line. Celina is located south of there is Mercer County, Ohio.
I use Google when I have a question about an area. I just type in the name of the place and it generally provides a small map that you can click on. I then zoom out until I find a reference point.

PS I have relatives, niece, nephew, great niece and great nephews who live in Mercer, Van Wert and Paulding Counties Ohio. When I go to visit, I either stay in Celina, or the town of Van Wert. These are my sister's children and her last name is Trussell.

Sorry I don't have any more info. What I sent you was from the internet, and accessible. I am researching Trussells, but this is not my line. Mine are S.C., Miss, Ala, Arkansas, Texas. You probably have this, but I found: William Harvey Trussell went by the name of Harvey. Born abt 1850, came from England. Lived in Indiana, moved to Michigan. Married Anna or Margrette Mussleman born in Ohio in 1860. Parents of William; wILLIAM AND Mary (Mary Sineve) and both were from England. Good Luck!

I would like to know where you may have found this info you don't mind me asking? Is this information avaiable to any one? This information is correct about Americus leaving Mercer in 1900 or 1901, but I have a concern that puzzles me is Mercer,Celina and Hicksville all the same place? I have certified birth records for all three of Williams childern who were born and Americus is listed as Hickville? William was born in Michigan in 1885. Because I don't live there can you help me out with this

William H. Trussell had sons: John, William, and Americus Robilus Trussell b Mar 19, 1887 in Celina Ohio who died Oct 21, 1958 in Chippewa Twp, Michigan. Americus left Mercer in 1900-1901. Hope this helps!

I am also interested in the Gilson Trussell line. I know very little about Gilson or his son Wesley. My line is: Gilson/Wesley/Pendleton/Martha A. Trussell, who married Joseph H. Rudd in 1856 in Audrain Co., MO. Joseph and Martha actually lived in Monroe Co., MO.

Also, I recently discovered that my gggrandmother Esther Anspaugh/Steel was Coleman R. Trussell's second wife. He was the son of Langham Trussell, and was born around 1830. She was the widow of William Steel and had a number of young children. They married in 1884 in Monroe Co., MO.

Any help would be appreciated

Hey there. Your trussell relative wouldn't happen to be Coleman Trussell, father of Jacob Trussell, etc., would he? Born abt 1813 in Paris, MO? He's my gggggrandfather.
