Emma and her youngest daughter were living in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in 1911. Internet hear-say says Emma died in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, sometime.

Noble's marriage to Edith is not listed in BC. If they married in Alberta,
you should be able to get a copy of the marriage registration, given it happened more than 75 years ago…
http://www.servicealberta.ca/766.cfm

http://www.servicealberta.ca/802.cfm

If they married in Saskatchewan, you might be able to get a copy of your grandparents’ marriage certificate…
http://www.isc.ca/default.aspx?DN=2021,2010,10,1,Documents

Edith died in March 1939 in Victoria, BC…
http://search.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/sn-3D4070C/gbsearch

Noble re-married to Elsie Seed in December 1939, in Whatcom County, Washington State…
http://www.digitalarchives.wa.gov/ViewRecord.aspx?RID=90E62F...

My grandfather seems to have only one of his three marriages on record, his first to Emma Shillington in 1892. His second would have been about 1909, to my grandmother Edith Louisa Bride. They were living in Victoria, BC at the time. If he actually divorced Emma, it would have been in Alberta. If he married Edith, as a divorced man he may have gone to the western USA, most likely to Washington State, to do it. I actually saw the marriage certificate from his third marriage, to Elsie May Seed, when I was a teenager. I thought the date was 1937 but Edith did not die until 1939 so I could be wrong. They would have married in New Westminster, BC. Any hints on sorting this out would be appreciated.

Hello Chuck,
I have been searching for several years for my "missing link". I have my maternal grandfather, John Tom Tubman, born 1885 in Alma, NE. His father & mother, Thomas & Jane (Blair) Tubman along with his grandparents, John & Isabelle (Emo)Tubman immigrated to America from Ireland 1884. John & Isabelle had a 2nd son, William Tubman. I have copies of letters that William wrote to Emo relatives in Canada, dated March 18, 1881, in which William says that Father (John Tubman) has 4 brothers & a sister living in Vermont butthat William has never met. I have marriage certs for Thomas & Jane from the Parish Church in Kinawley, Co Fermanagh, NI...as well as one for John & Isabelle. John's father's name is listed as William Tubman, farmer of Drumhervin, Kinawley Parish, Co Fermanagh, NI. I cannot seem to find any info on this William Tubman. Any info here link to your family??? Please contact me for more info.
email: Texas_dustbunny444@yahoo.com Thanks Darlene Pugh

John Tubman who married Eunice was my great-grandfather. His parents were Thomas Tubman and Jane MacGuire. The family immigrated to Canada from Ireland in the early 1850's when John was a baby. John was married to Eunice Streight on May 1, 1877 in East Oxford, Ontario, Canada. They moved to Illinois where their son, Clarence Burton, was born on January 8, 1878. Before 1880, they moved to Cass County, Nebraska. They also lived in Lancaster County, Nebraska.

My great-grandfather & great-grandmother, Thomas & Jane (Blair) Tubman are buried in Alma, Nebraska. Next to them are Thomas's parents, John & Isabella (Emo) Tubman. There is a "name" stone with 2 stones on each side, one for each grave.. Thomas & Jane had married in April 1883, then a yr later came to America along with Thomas's parents. Thomas had a brother, William, who had immigrated a few years earlier. I cannot find any record of William after 1890. John Tubman had 2 daughters by prev.marriage. At John's death, only Thomas & the 2 daughters were mentioned in the will. I have more info & pics if you would like.

Hello David,
I am granddaughter of John Tom Tubman (1st generation America). John Tom's parents, Thomas & Jane (Blair) Tubman immigrated in 1884 from N.Ire along with Thomas's parents, John & Isabelle (Emo) Tubman.Thomas's brother, William had already come to America thru Canada. Wm first stayed with his mother's sister (Eliz Emo Carter) in Canada, then worked his way on down to Neb. I have copies of letters that Wm & his mother Isabella wrote to the Carters dated 1881-1885. Isabella was 2nd wife...John had 2 daughters, Kate & Ellen, when he & Isabella married in1857.
I have John & Isabella's marriage cert showing John's father as William Tubman. This is as far as I can get & still prove it!
I can't seem to find any info on William Tubman.
I have photos of John, Isabella, Thomas,& Jane, their grave stones in Neb. I think I have a photo you took in Ireland of the old Tubman stones. Frank Tubman in Canada shared the pics with me. Please email me if you would like any of the pics or info & if you can shed any light on my search.
Thanks so much, Linda Pugh in Texas

I have John Tubman married to Isabella Emo 23 July 1857 at the Kinawly Parish Church in Co Fermanagh. John's father listed as William Tubman of Drumhearvin. John & Isabella came to USA thru Canada in 1884 along with their son, Thomas & his new bride, Jane Blair. All buried at Alma, Nebraska. They had 4 children, William, Kate, Ellen & Thomas (my great-grandfather). I have more dates & details if this seems to be a link for your search. Old letters mention John having 4 brothers & a sister living in St Johnsbury, VT in 1881.

Hi Teri
Here's a thought....My gggrandmother, Isabella Emo who was married 23 July 1857 to John Tubman, was born 11 Jan 1818. I dont have John's birthdate but stands to reason he was approx her age. I have found so many families named their children after brothers & sisters....could your Thomas, born 1805 in Ireland, be a brother to my John, born approx 1815? Your Thomas named one of his sons John & my John named one of his 2 sons, Thomas! The christian names of Elizabeth, Margaret & Catherine run heavily thru my family tree also. Another detail, twins occured quite often.
I am in touch with a 6th or 7th cousin who lives in Co Fermanagh & he is to send me more info soon. I will post anything that could tie us together if you like.
Darlene

Tubmans in County Cavan, Ireland

My grandfather, Thomas Tubman, was born in Templeport, Cavan, Ireland, about 1859. His parents were Thomas Tubman born about 1833 probably in Cavan and Ann Henderson born about 1837 in Cavan. My grandfather emigrated to Australia where he married Martha Ellen Bliss. They later moved to New Zealand. His brother John also emigrated to Australia where he married Sarah Pratt. He died in Australia. Other brothers and sisters include Frank (who gave my grandfather a Church of Ireland Prayer Book when Thomas left for Sydney) and Mary, Kathleen and one more sister of whom little is known. I do have what is reported to be a family portrait of them all.

I would be interested in communicating with any one who might have come across this family while researching the Tubman family in Ireland.

My grand-father, John Tom Tubman, 1st generation American. His father, Thomas Tubman, born 26 Oct 1861 in Kinawley Parish, N.Ireland. His father: John Tubman married Isabella Emo 23 July 1857 in Parish Church, Co Fermanagh, N.Ireland. Listed on the marriage cert is John Tubman's father, William Tubman. I recently got info on William Tubman. He was son of Francis Tubman & Elizabeth Wilson. Then Francis Tubman (Senior...I guess!) was his father. Then Francis Tubman (Senior)'s father was Capt Edward Tubman. Capt Edward Tubman's tombstone is the oldest Tubman grave found in Ireland. I have filled out a lot of this line but no room here. If you are interested, I'd be glad to share.
Darlene Pierce, Texas_dustbunny444@yahoo.com

Harriet Tubman's connection to the Tubman family was brought about by her marriage to John Tubman, a slave who would be of Richard Tubman's plantation probably at St Gile's Field, in Maryland. Slaves assumed the surname of their owner, consequently the connection would not be of a blood relation, unless a descendant of those slaves.

They may have been owned by the descendants of Dennis Cary(Carey) who came from Pennsylvania.
Some of these Carys were in the Wye Neck area, and entered marriage with the slaves of Wright and Blake.
I am sure the AA Carys were here in Colonial times confirmed by records, and the census.
I am trying to go as far back as I can with my family tree.
