Hi Barbara, I realized that it is a different book I have. Mine is Tuggle Family History of Walker County, Alabama by Gladys Gilbert Mahlmeister.

I am a 12th generation Tuggle of George Sanford Tuggle. I live in Riverside, CA. My grandparents on my dad's side were from Arkansas originally. I to am new to genealogy.

Trying to learn as much as I can on a few people so my kids will know where they come from. My husband passed away and there is very little family history for his family (Bucker) and also my new husbands dad passed away (Bugg) and we can only go back on his gramdmothers side. So there is a lot to discover that will mean so much for generations to come.

Tammy

Hello, your post is very old, but I hope you are still out there somewhere...I am beginning to research my family and I am not finding much on my grandmother, May Alta Tuggle who was born in March 1900 in Somerset, KY. I know she moved to Illinois in 1917, married John David Stevens in Champaign IL on 13 Nov 1919. Parents are believed to have been William Allen Tuggle and Martha Jane Cumbess. Most of the info is from her obituary, and I am not 100% sure of the accuracy. I know she had a brother named Charlie. She had lost touch with her family as her husband was very abusive and drove them away. Later in life, she tried to find her family but was not successful. If you have any information that might be helpful, I would greatly appreciate it.

Sue, I forgot to tell you there is a new Tuggle Book out. I don't have one.....just found out about it this week. It is written by Gladys Mahlmeister (lives in California). I sent her an e-mail: gmahl3@cox.net (it's gmah(L) like I have it typed - all small letters....didn't know if the (L) would look like a one! Anyway, it is gmahl3@cox.net

I do hope she got my e-mail.

Barbara
