Is there anyone who can enlighten me on the family of
Ichabod Masten? He had land in the albert area -and had a large family, I would like to know about his children. my grandfather was the oldest of 10 or 11. His name was Israel
born circa 1842 Dec. His brothers were Henry, Cornelius,
melbourne, salathiel; jacob (died at 15) + Adams.
That's all I have found. Would very much like to find any info, or better yet, a living "cousin"
bernie

Gorman-Nealon

Just a tidbit for those with Nealons in Tyendinaga area of Ontario in the 1850s."A Pioneer History of Elgin County", pub 1896, page 143:
"Daniel Gorman..county Clare..born 1798..married Mary Nealon..to Canada 1839..after being in Montreal went to Belleville then ..Tiandinago [sic] where he lived for five years. In 1845..came to Port Stanley and is the oldest man in Elgin County...[he died in 1904 at 106 years old].
Gorman Nealon had daughter Bridget Gorman who married Morgan Burns 1858. Gorman d. 1904 Nealon d. 1891 and are buried in Holy Angels (RC) Cemetery in St. Thomas, Ontario. I believe the Nealon message board mentions other (male) Nealon Irish immigrants who were in Tyendinaga around the same time...wonder if they were connected?
