found your posting while searching for ancestors.
I have a Thomas Tyson married to Mary (Martin?), born in about 1838. I have found a baptism for 1840 that lists him as illigitimate (mother Jane) This fits with family recollections.

Hope you are still on line.

John

Hi There,

I noticed this post when I was researching the Tysons'
I am a half sister to Ronald Kenneth Tyson. His father Joseph Tyson died when he was a baby. My brother was told that he had no living relatives.
His entire life he has never met a relative from his father's side of the family.
I am planning a 70th birthday surprise party and would love to present him with a book showing he really does have relatives, perhaps even arrange a phone call or two.
His father was the son of Colonel Cornelius? Tyson and Viola Gay Keisyer. Cornelius had a brother Joseph Tyson that lived with them.

Could you please tell me if any of this info sounds familiar to you? Please Please.
My sandra.lynch@cox.net or call me please 949 305 5445 and I will return the call.
I'm playing connect the dots with my ggg grandfather Henry Tyson (1809-1872) He's buried in Long's cemetery, Halifax, Pa. There are two other Tysons- Jacob (1803-1868), Catharine (1772-1855). Also in the 1860 census Jacob has a Barbara Tyson (about the same age as Jacob) living with his family (wife #3?, a sister?, sister in law?) Is Catharine their mother?
Who are Henry's parents? Where does he fit in?
By the way I have a picture of him and his wife, Mary, taken in 1857- pretty cool!

Thanks...I appreciate that!

I'm descended from Andrew, Hance and Magdalena's oldest child, though this year one online tree I saw gave it as Peter Supplee. But all the sources I've seen since 9th grade say it's Andrew. His daughter Phebe married William Davis, of Conshohocken, and their daughter Rebecca is my great-great grandmother. I discovered this connection by pure chance when I opened a Supplee Family History at random at the Historical Society and saw my mom's name there (!).

Matthias and Barbara Tyson were my 7th great grandparents. The information that I have shows that your Joseph married Ann Nash (1752-1794); he married a Mary ???? after Ann's death. Joseph had 9 children; Jacob, Jona, Joseph, Peter, Joshua, Ann, Mary, Catharine, and Isaac. It appears that all of the children are Ann's. Unfortunately, that is all of the information that I have, as I am descendant from Joseph's brother John. I fairly certain of the accuracy of my information; it comes from a privatly published book that was well researched over many years. I hope this helps, even if it's only a little bit.

Our reunion is held annually in Medon Tennessee, off of Route 18 on Collins Road just outside of Jackson,Tennessee which is smack dab in the middle of Nashville and Memphis.
TYSON as a middle name

I am actually researching the MOORE family but I have several generations where TYSON is used as the middle name of several of the men. My guess is that that is a Surname from the Mother's side of the family.
Roscoe TYSON MOORE 1904 OK, is the son of
RUBEN TYSON Moore 1869 MS who married Oda "Rea" PRICE
Now either Ruben was the son of Robert Calhoun MOORE 1846 MS and Nancy Ellen COLLINS, or he was the son of
Robert Wilson "Mustang" MOORE and Lydia CABANEY (CAVINESS)
I have nothing more than a name on Nancy Ellen Collins but she and Robert "CAL" Calhoun had 7 children: Ruben Tyson, Lydia Margaret, Mary Elizabeth, Prudence Rachel, George William, James and William P.
* At this time I have Ruben Tyson as belonging to this family.

Robert Wilson "Mustang" Moore,born in 1808 N.C. married to Lydia Cabaney(Caviness)born 1897 N. C., had 8 Children
Robert Calhoun, David H. C., James, Mary, John, William, Lydia and Nancy.
* At this time I have Robert Calhoun as their son, but this may be incorrect and it should be Robert W. who marries and then father's Robert Calhoun.
I have no additional information on Lydia Cabaney(Caviness)

I am of the theory that either the TYSON name comes from The Cabaney(Caviness) or the Collins families since I've not found the name anywhere on the Moore side prior to these two generations.

This family migrated all the way down into Frio Co, TX and then worked their way back up through TX into OK.

Can anyone help me with this brick wall mystery?
