Hello Mick
It's a long time since you posted a message about finding your Uphill ancestors. Have you found out more about them now? I know of a William Dunn Uphill b 1961 Devon who married Kate Ada Seeley b1870. His father was William James Uphill b1829 and mother Eliza Uphill b 1829. I have details of the family of the younger William and may have a photograph but am trying to establish if I have got the right family. Can you help please?
Chris

Hi there,
Does anyone have connections with the Uphills of London?

William Arthur UPHILL was born in 1818, and baptised in St.Mary's Newington, and lived in and around the Lambeth area.

One sister Elizabeth Sophia Ambole UPHILL was born in 1821 and married Charles GROOM; his other sister, Ann Cole UPHILL was born in 1823 and married Henry FRY.
His brother Henry William UPHILL was born in 1810 in or near Brixham Devon, and married Sarah FERRIS in Lambeth. (there is also possibly another brother: Arthur Wellington UPHILL born in 1813).

Their parents were William UPHILL and Elizabeth COLE - married in 1809 Devon, but I have no further details of this couple.

Many thanks.
Yours,
Trudy

My ggg grandfather was an Uphill from Burcombe, Wiltshire.
His wife was from Chipstable, Somerset. At some time after marrying they then moved on to Oxford. Do you have any more info of your Uphill line or are they all around Ston Easton?

Regards Mick

His daughter was born in Oxford. I have no Uphill records from Essex or from Plymouth.
I will keep your names on record and if I should stumble across them I will let you know. Sorry I cannot help.

Cheers,
Mick.
