My grandfather was Mateo Urruita from Cuba. His children were/are: (deceased)Carmelo Urrutia, (deceased)Felix Urrutia, (deceased)Juana Urrutia, Rafaela Lazara Urrutia, Mateo Urrutia and Maria De Los Angeles Urrutia. His wife (living)is Adela known as Adelina. The living family lives in Miami Florida. I am looking for any information about my grandfather, Mateo. I know he and his brother Manolo worked on the Panama Canal. Any info would be appreciated.

my mother was Felicitas Urrutia daughter of Teofilo Urrutia stepsister to Ana Maria Urrutia. Mother was born in Meoqui Chi. Mex. they come from a large family in El paso, Tx.

Hi!
I'm pretty sure we are relatives...my father is Carlos Urrutia son of Roberto Urrutia, my grand father Roberto was brother of José, Dustano, Efraín, Antonio..there were more Urrutia brother's in Chihuahua, Chih, but I can't remeber their names.

My grandpa Beto used to say that there were 3 brothers that came from Spain, very rich but didn't take care of money, their names were José María, Efraín and I don't remeber the last one, I've been told Urrutia is a last name from the Vasque Country in Spain...

Now I'm living with my husband and my son in Québec Canada...nice meeting you!!

Unfortunately, we have had a sad story with cáncer...My grandfather in the digestive system, my uncle Antonio (son of one of my grandfather cousins) in the bones, my uncle Beto, ( brother of my father) in the liver and myself in the thyroid...hope is not genetic...

Dont know if this helps. My ancestors are from amoroto in the basque contry in spain. Im pretty sure Ramon Urrutia had a sister that married an Ibarra. Justo Ibarra was their son that came to the US in the 50's. The timing might not match but its quite a coincidence that Urrutias and Ibarras live close to each other in Amoroto.

Felipe Urrutia Aviles was Aureliano Urrutia father or uncle. Felipe was my grand grand father, he was a general in charge for the North est zone,(General de la division Noreste) he was under the orders of president Porfirio Diaz and he also worked with emperator Maximilano.
He was the father of my grandmother Sofia Urrutia, he die in my mother's house in Monterrey NL.
All the Urrutias I know have a strong character, and that include my mother!

I am interested in Catalina Corton y Abreu (who married Enrique Urrutia y Cordova), she seems to be the same person mentioned as "my cousin" by Pascual Lopez Corton. Pascual was in Puerto Rico from 1827 (age 10) to 1850, when he returned (rich) to Galicia.
Pascual is the father of my great-grandmother.

Aleluya que a mi también me interesa buscar familiares,
Soy nieta de Aureliano Urrutia y una Diplomática mexicana (muy famosa) que tuvo a mi mamá Raquel Urrutia y la dejo en San Antonio Texas, hubiera sido un escándalo si saliera a luz en esa época que ella había tenido un bebé con el DR. Urrutia, ya que ella era casada y con hijos en México (Raquel, era cantante y se cambio el nombre por el de Astrid de Lys, ya que abuelo les prohibio a sus hijos, estudiar nada que estuviera relacionado con arte y política, obligo a todos los hijos a estudiar medicina ) en el libro de Cristina no pone a las hijas y somos Raquel y yo.
Recuerdo que de chica veía al tío Constantino y la tÍA Rosario creo que el estuvo en la aduana y veíamos a más parientes en Xochimilco, asi que quizas conocí a tío Carlos.
Bueno espero que nos podamos contactar ya que tu escrito es de marzo de 2010.

my grandfather is de la motta sheftall II and I am trying to find out about our family.

our de la motta relatives were in st. croix in the 1700's -- but I don't know where they came from before that.

hi, that's great news. I went once with my mom to Xochimilco, when I was a little girl, maybe 7 or 8, to meet a Tia, an old lady in a dark house, an Urrutia. Maybe my sister would remember her name, but I remember that visit so well. But that was the only time I visited family in Xochimilco. My mother knew people from the family back then, but my mom died 5 years ago and I didn't write things down.

Hola, yo soy Maria Eugenia Urrutia mi abuelo paterno Carlos Clemente Urrutia Castaneda nacio el 23 de noviembre 1881, murio el 13 de mayo de 1990, fue medio hermano de Aureliano nacio en Xochimilco y fue hijo de Pedro Urrutia y Romula Castaneda, nieto de Bernardino Urrutia casado con Julia Linares, y los maternos Severiano Castaneda y Luz V...
mi abuelo tubo varios hermanos Aureliano, Porfirio, Esther, Everardo, Manuel, Augusto,Carlos Clemente y Constantino, Aureliano tengo entendido que era medio hermano por que su mama habia fallecido mi abuelo se caso con Maria Concepcion Fernandez Somellera Leal y tuvieron 4 hijos Carlos (mi papa) Sara, Gloria, Maria Clementina. es bueno saber de familiares, el otro dia lei el libro de Aureliano y lo unico que no me parecio real es que decia que era de origen humilde y eso no es cierto si bien tenian la tienda mas grande de xochimilco no eran pobres, su casa estaba situada en na de las aceras principales del zocalo de xochimilco 1 era la iglecia, otra manzana era el palacio de gobierno, la otra el mercado y la otra la casa de la familia Urrutia.

Hi, My Grand father was Carlos Clemente Urrutia Castaneda half brother of Aureliano, He born in Xochimilco, he had more brothers, like Constantino, i will look for more information in the papers that i have some place, my father told me that in the zocalo of xochimilco in one side was the church, in the other side the market, in the other the municipal offices and in the other the house-store of the Urrutia family, my grand father got married with Maria Concepcion Ferndandez Somellera Leal and had 3 girls and 1 boy the boy was my father Carlos Urrutia y Fernandez Somellera, sadly he is not here anymore. the name of the girls were Sara, Gloria, Maria Clementina.

I looking for the brother's name from Dr.Aureliano Urrutia. Because one of them was my grant grant father.
My grand father was born in Xochimilco and he has more midle brothers. We know that Dr. Aureliano was his grant uncle.
One cousin from my mom, his name was Carlos Urrutia traveled very much to US to visit family there.

hello my name juan urrutia jr. my fathers name is juan urrutia garcia sr. his mothers name is josefa garcia urrutia her husband was david urrutia ibarra they were from zacatecas, they have family who live in california some of them are called tio pablo and tio tino probably short for "agustino or faustino". josefa and david lived in a small ranch about 60 miles south of cuidad juarez called "francisco y zarabia" we visited on feb.2009 and my dad told me he has cousins who live porvenir. the grew cotton on the land in mexico. most of the family live in garden city, kansas or denver, colorado.
-josefa has a sister who lives in el paso named munda
-pablo lives in cali. (i think my dad says oxnard)
-there is another uncle named "tino"

All have lived in Chihuahua Mexico.

Aureliano Urrutia's parents were Pedro Urrutia and Refugio Sandoval, and the family was indeed from Xochimilco. One of Aureliano's four siblings was Antonia, my great-grandmother. Antonia married (or ran away) with someone that the family didn't approve of (Andres Villanueva), and died sometime after 1900 leaving four young children. Those children were taken in by Dr. Urrutia including my grandmother Paz.

Dr. Urrutia left Mexico hurredly for the Unites States after 1910, had many children with various wives (I think I counted 5), and so there are many Urrutias in the US.
