Hi Maxine, I am researching Valantine/Valentine families from Lancashire around the Preston area in early 1700's. Some moved to Sheffield in 1724 or thereabouts. Some lived in Sutton-in-Ashfield Notts,others went to London around 1850's from Notts.Many lived in Sheffield, Doncaster and that area.
I'd love to compare notes with you--maybe we'll connect somewhere.

Hi my name is Robin Valentine my father name is Lee edward valentine whose brother is Arthur c. valentine. along with nelson valentine, rose valentine, earl valetnine and harry valentine. After Elsie Elizabeth howard died Kenneth who is my grandpa remarried Regina ann marshall (worley). the valentines of new york moved to toledo, ohio. Andrew J. valetnine was in the civil war in gettysburg in the 59th infantry. I am also stuck on richard valentine there appears to be something we are missing.

Yes it does match mine! I don't know a lot about TR, as he was called. I am told he had children from his second marriage. I don't know their names or anything more. I was also told he could be violent and abusive, owned a general store where he sold fruit from the Arnold farm. Nannie (or Sara Nancy) Arnold was my mother's mother.

OMG I finally found someone. My grandmother apparently had a son out of wedlock who was my father Charles. He was raised by his grandparents Stella and William so maybe that is the Charles listed as one of their children. I remember your dad's name coming up in conversation and I probably met him but I was very young. I remember Elizabeth meeting her at my grandmother's cabin in Michigan. You will find there are a number of people with the surname Hidy in Virginia and Ohio. We have found over 17 different spelling for Hiday in records, sometimes spelled 3 different ways in one document. We may all go back to a common ancestor who is yet unknown.

Among the papers is an old Application for job at A Western Star Lodge in Cheyenne Wyoming. William was born 16 Nov 1876 in Frankfort, Ohio. I have an old newspaper clipping my Dad saved from The Detroit Free Press back in May 26, 1946. The photo is of Dolores and a Pvt Ross Sharrer. It says She's his Valentine, for that's her name: Dolores Valentine, 16 of 8841 N Claredon. Pvt Ross Sharrer, 18 of 10457 Bryden, smilingly fastens his gift flower in her dark locks.
On the back Dad wrote in Sunday 5-26 Free Press Parade ROTC Ball at Mackenzie. I am assuming it was at Mackenzie High School in Detroit.
I have found Dolores' name in the 1944 Northwestern Baptist Church directory..Dad attended the same church as did my Mom later and then me even later. The church was on Grand River at Claredon.

I am also trying to locate family of Ross...would love to give someone the article and or make a copy for the other family.

I believe that I am a decendant. My mother has all of the geneology in VA. I am a great grandaughter of a Valentine. I think her name was Henrietta Isabell or Isabella Valentine but I cannot remember. My grandmother's name was Ruby and I think it was her mother who was a Valentine.

I am looking for my lost relatives of my great great grandfather Louis who was born in louisville Ky. in 1853 and ended up in St louis and started the Hetzel importing co . in 1891. He would have a half brother named James, two half sisters named Isabelle and Lucille after he married Louise Hodde in 1891. Louis had a son baptized in Shreveport Lou in 1872 named Joseph Walter Hillard Valentine. Louis was the son of Louis Valentine and Eliza (seiman) Hetzel. Louis Jr's decendents from his son Joseph Walter Hillard which I am one of settled in north Texas in the Ft. Worth area.

Im Stuck at Richard VALENTINE (1790-1850) married to Julia A. ?? (~1800-??). Their son Andrew J. Valentine (1833-1800) married to Margeret Dow(1842-??) Their son James H. Valentine (1865-1936) ,married to Teresa R.J. Stevens (1869-???) their son Kenneth A. I see my father in this census in Binghamton, Broome Co., NY listed as a 'waiter'. He was living in a boarding house, and although it says he was 25 years of age, he wasn't...he was born in 1909. I have no idea why he was there or which relatives, if any, he was visiting with. Since he was born in Soso, MS, he is a long way from home. Just wondering if any of the researchers of the Valentine name in New York might have any info on someone there with a nephew or cousin named Noel Allen Valentine.

I am looking for the ancestors of Elizabeth Valentine. She married Richard Easley 11 Jun 1827, Harrison County, Ohio.

They had the following children:
